We speak with Supernatural showrunner Andrew Dabb about making it to the 300th episode and the return of a very special actor.
Supernatural premiered in 2005 as a show about two brothers who grew up hunting evil. As adults, they reunite in order to save their dad who went away on a hunting trip and never came back. Fourteen years later, and our Winchesters are tested to their furthest limits. They’ve faced monsters thought unheard of, done battle with demons and angels alike, and even had a heart-to-heart with God. The longest running American sci-fi/fantasy series has come so far from just a traveling monster hunt show, which, if we’re being honest, it never really was at its core.
The heart and soul of the show has always been family. The search for John Winchester, the vengeance for Mary Winchester, and Dean and Sam constantly...

Today we have your first look at next week’s brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled “Beyond The Mat.” It looks as though this will be a pretty solid episode that will continue the momentum from last night’s offering, “The Vessel,” which surprised even this honorary Man of Letters with its sheer awesomeness.
Although the show has made a pro wrestling reference or two in the past, it will be interesting to see Sam and Dean attend a show. Obviously there is a mystery to be solved though, as wrestlers start turning up dead. Be sure to keep an eye out for WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who is certainly no stranger to film these days.
What really caught my attention in the new trailer, however, was Castiel/Lucifer laying the smack down on Crowley. If you hadn’t noticed, Crowley is back in his formal attire,...

Supernatural, Season 9, Episode 14: “Captives”
Written by Robert Berens
Directed by Jerry Wanek
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW
The death of Kevin at the hands of Gadreel was one of the more memorable moments of the ninth season, and stands as the most definitive effect of Dean’s trust in the Angel that promised to cure Sam. As someone who inadvertently ended up as the Prophet, and went through arguably as much in the way of negative experiences as the Winchesters, Kevin proved himself a resourceful and trustworthy ally, giving his death that much more of an impact. This week’s episode sees the ghost of Kevin return to ask the Winchesters for one last wish, in a solid outing that works to further advance the story of Angels.
The ascension of Castiel into a leadership position once again is a promising development.

Supernatural Episode 914
“Captives”
Written By: Robert Barens
Directed By: Jerry Wanek
Original Airdate: 25 February 2014
In This Episode…
Flickering lights and shadowy apparitions mean only one thing in Sam and Dean’s line of work: the bunker is haunted. The place is warded like crazy, so it would have to be haunted by someone who died inside the bunker. Since Dean and Sam have been there, that has only been one person: Kevin. They pretty much just have to wait until Kevin figures out how to break through the veil and speak to them.
When he finally figures it out, it is like he is answering Dean’s heartfelt apologies and professions of guilt for his death. He appears, flickering, still getting the hang of this “being dead” stuff. Dean is surprised that he isn’t in heaven, but Kevin reminds them: “Heaven is closed for business.” He and a zillion...

After a short break, the Winchester brothers are back and investigating a haunted bunker. Here’s a look at photos and preview videos from Captives:
“The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester brothers continues as Supernatural enters its ninth season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have spent their lives on the road, battling every kind of supernatural threat. Over the years, after dozens of bloody adventures, they have faced everything from the yellow-eyed demon that killed their mother to vampires, ghosts, shapeshifters, Angels and fallen gods. They even came face to face with Lucifer and the Four Horsemen in averting the Apocalypse. With the help of allies — both human and supernatural — they’ve discovered that every threat they vanquish opens a new door for evil to enter in. In the show’s eighth season, their supernatural hunting expedition led them directly into an age-old power struggle involving the King of Hell,...

"Supernatural" and "The Originals" are taking a break during the Olympics, but we have the skinny on what's ahead when they return on Tuesday, February 25th, with new episodes.
"The Originals" Episode 1.14 - "Long Way Back from Hell" (airs 2/25/14, 8-9pm)
Rebekah’S Past Catches Up With Her — When Rebekah (Claire Holt) finds herself locked up in the sanatorium where she worked in 1919, she realizes a witch named Genevieve (guest star Elyse Levesque) is back to seek revenge and to reveal dark secrets that would destroy Rebekah if exposed.
A distraught Elijah (Daniel Gillies) turns to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) for help when one of his decisions puts Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah’s lives in danger. With time working against them, Marcel realizes he may hold valuable information that could lead them to Rebekah and Klaus, but revealing it will almost certainly result in deadly consequences.

It looks like Sam and Dean are about to uncover a treasure trove of knowledge on this week's Supernatural episode, "Everybody Hates Hitler."
Over a conference call, writer Ben Edlund dished the details on where the Winchester brothers are headed after learning about the Men of Letter's wealth of information on "As Time Goes By," while also facing Necromancer Nazis and a Golem that actually towers over the two lead actors.
With episodes under his belt such as "Blood Brothers" and "Reading is Fundamental," Edlund is no stranger to creating a wild new aspect to the show that ties in the classic humor, drama and action that's become a staple of the series.
As for centering an installment around villainous Nazi Necromancers, Edlund said that the concept "originally stemmed in terms of thinking of the Thule Society," a German occultist group that "really did fund the early days of the...

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 7, Episode 22 of The CW's "Supernatural," entitled "There Will Be Blood."
A TV season is a marathon, not a sprint, but I'm concerned that "Supernatural" is starting to show signs of fatigue as it nears the finish line. The show is assured an eighth season and an injection of fresh blood when veteran writer Jeremy Carver comes back on board as showrunner, but I still want to see Season 7 go out with a bang instead of a whimper.
Last year's two-part finale narrowly avoided fizzling out in such a manner; I thought that Episode 21 was uneven and Episode 22 was downright dull until the final few minutes, at which point it pulled itself sharply out of its nosedive and left us with one hell of shocking cliffhanger to obsess about over the summer hiatus. Am I confident that this year's finale will wow us?...

The latest episode of "Supernatural" has gone back to filling a few gaps and only offering hints of what is to come for the remaining third of the series. When considering the opening montage, thoughts on Bobby’s death are not yet gone, Dean will have to look back at the events of “The Girl Next Door” and Frank is being sorely missed.
The clues are showing that Bobby is indeed around and offering advice from the Great Beyond. But the Winchesters are unsure if that’s the case. This direction is almost not surprising when considering how stubborn Singer is, and how unwilling he is to let go of anything he holds dear. From the beer bottle to some pieces of paper, the evidence is slowly stacking up.
The big reveal will most likely happen with either, "The Born-Again Identity" or “Of Grave Importance.

Supernatural Episode 713 "The Slice Girls" Written By: Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner Directed By: Jerry Wanek Original Airdate: 3 February 2012 In This Episode... A rash of murders have Sam intrigued and Dean pretty much just going along with it. Four men in two weeks have turned up dead. All have been thrown around their homes with such force they broke through walls. All had their hands and feet cut off. And all had a strange symbol carved into their chests. Dean isn't particularly interested in this gig because it has nothing to do with Dick Roman, so the first chance he gets, he heads out to a bar, where he hooks up with a hot chick named...

I'm of two minds about this week's "Supernatural," which made the somewhat questionable decision to revisit the basic theme of one of this season's most divisive episodes, "The Girl Next Door." In that hour, Dean was forced to kill Amy, one of Sam's childhood friends (or a girl that he'd known for a matter of hours, depending on how you chose to look at it) because she was a "monster" who had killed humans -- deserving or not -- and would likely do so again. In this hour, the roles were reversed, and Sam was forced to kill Emma, a girl who was genetically Dean's daughter, but also a girl he'd known for less than a matter of hours.

Supernatural Review, Season 7, Episode 13: “The Slice Girls”
Written by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner
Directed by Jerry Wanek
Airs Fridays at 9pm (Et) on the CW
This week, on Supernatural: Sam and Dean’s new research buddy gets mixed reviews, Dean’s a proud Papa, and Ghost Bobby?
Season seven has seemed to fall into a particular rhythm of late, with mostly light and pleasant episodes (by Supernatural standards, at least) balanced by a few scenes of brooding and angst. This episode is a standalone, though it seems the weekly baby steps towards Dean’s breakdown must eventually lead somewhere, and in general the standalone elements work well. It’s nice to see the guys on a fairly straightforward case. Taking away Bobby as their go-to for Anything Not In John’s Journal allows cases that would have been cakewalks in season five to carry weight and pose legitimate threats.

If you are a fan of Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries, you were probably “bummed” this week to learn that both CW shows took off for the last Thursday and Friday of January. It was actually the second week on hiatus for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester since the series returned at the start of 2012.
Thankfully, both shows will return to kick off February in a major way. And, Supernatural will be getting a dose of Tvd power. Sara Canning who starred as Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) Aunt Jenna on Tvd will be appearing in Supernatural Episode 7.13, “The Slice Girls”. If you haven’t seen the preview yet, you can see it below.
