Ms. Stroman is the recipient of 5 Tony Awards, 2 Olivier Awards, 5 Drama Desk Awards, 8 Outer Critics Circle Awards, a record 4 Astaire Awards and the Lucille Lortel Award. Broadway credits include: The Producers, Contact, Oklahoma!, The Frogs, Thou Shalt Not, The Music Man, Crazy for You, Showboat, Big, Steel Pier and Picnic. Off-Broadway productions include: And The World Goes `Round, Flora the Red Menace. For New York City Opera: Don Giovanni, A Little Night Music and 110 in the Shade. For 10 years she choreographed Madison Square Garden's annual spectacular event A Christmas Carol directed by Mike Ockrent. Ms. Stroman created the ballets Double Feature and Blossom Got Kissed for New York City Ballet and But Not For Me for the Martha Graham Company. Her choreography received an Emmy nomination for the HBO presentation Liza: Stepping Out at Radio City Music Hall, starring Liza Minnelli. Other TV credits include: An Evening with the Boston Pops - A Tribute to Leonard Bernstein and co-conceiver/choreographer for PBS's Sondheim - A Celebration at Carnegie Hall. She received the American Choreography Award for her work in Columbia Pictures feature film Center Stage.

She has also been Tony-nominated six other times: as Best Choreographer, in 1996 for "Big - The Musical;" in 1997 for "Steel Pier;" and in 2002 for "Oklahoma!;" as Best Director (Musical), in 2000 for "Contact;" and as Best Director (Musical) and Best Choreographer, in 2000 for "The Music Man."

October 10, 2005, she was presented with an Elan Award for her choreographic work.
