Chicago Fire is about to close its doors on Season 12.
The season has been a bit disjointed due to having fewer episodes. Losing cast members didn’t help.
Kara Killmer ended her run as Paramedic Sylvie Brett, and Alberto Rosende finished his time as Firefighter Blake Gallo.
Gallo’s replacement also left. That role was Firefighter Jake Gibson, played by Rome Flynn for a few episodes.
Jack Damon (Michael Bradway) has replaced Gibson, while Lizzy Novak (Joselyn Hudon) has replaced Brett. Will they last? Stay tuned!
Unfortunately, another series regular ends their run on the season finale.

Many Chicago Fire characters have been missing in action this season, leading to questions about their whereabouts.
The absences became particularly pronounced during the latest episode (Inside Man), where Kelly Severide (played by Taylor Kinney) got taken for a ride by some domestic terrorists.
Truck 81 was stolen from Firehouse 51, forcing the remaining people on shift to work together with Chicago P.D. to track down and save Severide.
With Chief Boden still on leave and Severide mysteriously gone, it fell upon the other leaders of the firehouse to lead the rescue.
The action helped shift some of the focus away from the fact that Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) were also gone.
Within the storylines, Mouch was at a training session, Carver was on furlough, and Boden was off helping his stepson.
Why are so many characters missing from the Chicago Fire episodes?

Chicago Fire will look different when it opens Season 13 this fall. Several cast members are leaving the show, and things appear to be in for a shakeup at the station. Eamonn Walker (Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden) is leaving the show as a full-time cast member. Now, another beloved character might also exit the series.
Here is who else might be leaving and what might be next for Chicago Fire.
Chicago Fire Losing Beloved Veteran Firefighter?
One of the original Chicago Fire firefighters has been missing for a few episodes now and many fans are asking if he is leaving the show. There’s no more endearing firefighter on Chicago Fire than Darren Ritter (played by Daniel Kyri), who joined Firehouse 51 in 2018 (first recurring then as a regular) after being cut from another house for freezing on a call. Despite that blemish, Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Lt. Herrmann (David Eigenberg) backed the new candidate, and he won a candidate position at the house. Quietly but openly gay, Ritter became part of the house’s “Three Musketeers,” best friends with Gallo (Alberto Rosende) and Emt Violet (Hanako Greensmith) until Gallo left the Cfd in this season’s premiere. Always kind and helpful, Ritter has grown and prospered. Below, Kyri talks about May 8 episode, in which he doesn’t just fight a conflagration but faces the revelation of his current boyfriend to his team, and shares his new modeling experience. Flynn joined Chicago Fire at the beginning of season 12 as new recruit Derrick Gibson, an ex-boxer with a troubled past. He took a spot on Truck 81 previously occupied by Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who left the show in the season premiere to move to Detroit.
Unfortunately, Gibson’s time at 51 was brief. As he eventually revealed to Carver (Jake Lockett), he’d embarked on a career as a firefighter after accidentally killing a man during a boxing match. But the trauma from that incident still haunted him. He was also abusing drugs in an attempt to cope with his mental health issues.

Kara Killmer is saying goodbye and “I do” in her final episode of NBC’s Chicago Fire airing on Wednesday. Killmer, who joined Season 3 of the hit firefighter drama, revealed in November she would be leaving the series after a decade in the role of Sylvie Brett.
“This is the natural end for her character; it’s kind of a perfect bookend, really,” Killmer told Deadline on Friday when asked about her decision to depart.” I’m selfishly delighted over the fact that Sylvie shows up in Chicago a jilted bride who was dumped at the altar by her high school sweetheart and then ends up across the aisle in her last episode from Matt Casey, the love of her life. I just love that her character has been able to come full circle and it’s it’s such a great way to exit her journey. It’s sort of perfect timing,...

Faithful viewers of NBC’s long-running drama had been left wondering about Mouch’s fate after season 11, and whether the longtimer had survived shrapnel from a sniper’s bullet in the finale cliffhanger. It wasn’t until last week’s season 12 premiere that it was revealed that Mouch survived his near-deadly ordeal. But, as this week’s second episode showed, Mouch is still struggling with the effects of his injury, and has taken it upon himself...

The season premiere, “Barely Gone,” picked up six months after the end of season 11 and quickly answered our biggest questions about Severide, Brett, and others while setting the stage for episodes to come.

Anyone who’s a part of 51 will always be a part of 51, and that we can hold onto, no matter what else is changing around us.” The good news: While 51 does say goodbye to Gallo (Alberto Rosende), Mouch (Christian Stolte), after that very bloody shrapnel injury in the Season 11 finale, is alive! Will 51 be down two firefighters after the Chicago Fire Season 12 premiere? It’s very possible. The NBC drama returns on January 17, and with that first episode, it has quite a bit to reveal, including whether Mouch (Christian Stolte) lived or died after an on-the-job shrapnel injury that saw him bleeding significantly at the hospital in the Season 11 finale and how Gallo will be written out in Alberto Rosende‘s last episode. Plus, another member of 51 is going to end up in a risky situation! When TV Insider spoke to executive producer Andrea Newman about Brett’s (Kara Killmer) departure and future with Casey (Jesse Spencer) as well as Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) return and relationship with Kidd (Miranda Ray Mayo), we also got the scoop on that and more. Season 12 of “Chicago Fire” may be a shortened season, but it’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster, according to executive producer Andrea Newman. In a new interview with Variety, Newman — who became the sole showrunner this season after previously serving as co-showrunner with Derek Haas — teased that the new season “really jumps out with a bang, literally.”
With both Alberto Rosende and Kara Killmer, who portray Blake Gallo and Sylvie Brett, respectively, exiting the series this year, and the return of Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide, nothing is off limits.
In the Season 11 finale, Casey (Jesse Spencer) proposed to Sylvie — who is wearing a ring in the below photo, for what it’s worth — Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) left town to go find her husband and Mouch (Christian Stolte) was left bleeding out in the hospital after being hit by shrapnel during a call. Season 12, premiering on Jan. 17 at 9 p.
