- Norman Steinberg was born on June 6, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. He was a producer and writer, known for Blazing Saddles (1974), Doctor Doctor (1989) and Raising Dad (2001). He died on March 15, 2023 in Hudson, New York, USA.
- Was a 'disgruntled lawyer' but wanted to become a comedy writer, when he first met Mel Brooks in the 1960s at a Manhattan coffee shop. Some years later, Brooks hired him to work on the draft of a screenplay by Andrew Bergman, for a comic Western (then called Tex X) which eventually became Blazing Saddles.
