The broad beats of a courtroom drama are simple and finite; any procedural fan would know. And French film “Anatomy of a Fall” has everything you would expect from a taut crime thriller: a mystery that runs deeper than our initial understanding, cops trying to prove different theories, warring lawyers in the courtroom, a piece of new evidence that throws the case into confusion, a major scene on the witness stand. But the film does not approach those moments in an expected fashion, neither emotionally nor formally. Director Justine Triet is more interested in pushing back on genre tropes wherever she can to create a messier, but more involving, picture of the many narratives we use to explain a fall.
The titular fall — and possible murder — is of frustrated writer and stay-at-home dad Samuel (Samuel Theis). The main suspect is his wife, a successful author named Sandra (Sandra Hüller). “Anatomy of a Fall...

Rap icon Snoop Dogg has shared an incident when he went “dirty” with regards to the lyrics of one of his tracks during a bar mitzvah. Bar mitzvah is the initiation ceremony for Jewish boys who are regarded as ready to observe religious precepts and eligible to take part in public worship.
In an interview for the Musicians on Musicians issue of ‘Rolling Stone’, Snoop, 52, opened up to the ‘Big Energy’ rapper Latto, 24, about opting to go “dirty” while performing at a bar mitzvah, reports ‘People’ magazine.
The pair were discussing the business of performing and how certain gigs will pay more than others. “You’re going to have opportunities where somebody going to book you for a wedding that’s going to pay you more than you getting paid onstage,” Snoop tells Latto, to which she replies, “Bar mitzvah money.”

Rolling Stone was founded in 1967 in San Francisco by a music critic and his 21-year-old protégé, a Berkeley dropout who borrowed money from his future in-laws to get it off the ground. For decades, Rolling Stone gripped tight to the beliefs and cultural blinders of that boomer beginning. Most of its rocker heroes from that Haight-Ashbury autumn were white and male, and those were the kind of people who stayed center stage at Rolling Stone. The misogyny and racism of that founding era lingered longer.

Will Ferrell reunited with his Step Brothers co-star John C. Reilly over the weekend to bring the 2008 comedy to life with an assist from Snoop Dogg. The three joined forces at Ferrell’s “Best Night of Your Life 2” benefit show on October 21st at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre to perform “Boats ‘N Hoes” from the movie and Snoop’s own classic “Gin and Juice.”
Ferrell and Reilly stepped back into their roles as Brennan Huff and Dale Doback, respectively, by donning matching white suits like the ones they wore in the music video for “Boats ‘N Hoes,” which their characters showed during a dinner party to pitch their entertainment company Prestige Worldwide. In the movie, the clip proves to be a temporary setback for the step brothers turned best friends, but on Saturday night, the performance was nothing but smiles.
Watch the fan-shot footage and the original “Boats ‘N Hoes” video below.

In Sibyl, Sandra Hüller appears at the midway point for a scene-stealing role as a director attempting (and failing) to prevent a love triangle between her two leads from derailing her movie. This performance so impressed Justine Triet that she wrote the lead in her next feature specifically for Hüller.
That follow-up, Anatomy of a Fall, stars Hüller as a successful author, Sandra, who must defend herself in court against allegations that she murdered her writer husband, Samuel (Samuel Theis). The couple’s legally blind son Daniel is the sole witness, and much of Anatomy of a Fall deals with his coming-of-age as he hears unfiltered accounts of his parent’s troubled marriage presented as evidence against his mother.
While containing clear true crime elements, Anatomy of a Fall is less interested in a “Did she do it?” conclusion, instead more concerned with probing how moments in our lives and...

Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is getting as docuseries as he wanna be. Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders is among the producers behind “Coach Luke,” which chronicles the one-time 2 Live Crew frontman as he became a entrepreneur and the head coach of the Edison Senior High School football team in Miami. Mandon Lovett directs the docuseries, which is exec produced by Smac Entertainment’s Constance Schwartz-Morini, Michael Strahan and FredAnthony Smith; Swirl Films’ Eric Tomosunas and Nikki Byles; and Brian Sher and Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders. No outlet is yet attached.
Campbell, of course, is remembered for the popular late 1980s/early 1990s rap group 2 Live Crew — which managed to even hit the Billboard charts with song titles that Casey Kasem wouldn’t say out loud on “American Top 40.” But 2 Live Crew’s lasting impact was its First Amendment fights, via Campbell and the group’s obscenity trials and Supreme Court parody cases.

Hanging with Snoop Dogg is not conducive to playing with the big dogs.
That’s a lesson former NBA all-star Kevin Garnett learned the hard way, as he confessed Friday on social media.
Garnett and his teammates attended a Toronto concert by Snoop the night before they were scheduled to play the Toronto Raptors.
“So we go to the show, the show bangin’, Snoop killed that shit,” said Garnett, writing in his social media post that they continued to hang out until 7 a.m.
In the video, Snoop noted the sun was rising while Garnett was still with him. Garnett and his Minnesota Timberwolves team was scheduled for a noon tip-off against the Raptors.
Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders was not amused.
“Saunders says: ‘Goddamn it, guys. The Toronto fans, they get to see you once. Goddamn it, [you] come here, play like shit. You m****f*****s hanging out with Snoop — you f***** got Snooped,...

Snoop Dogg has canceled his pair of “Doggystyle” 30th anniversary Hollywood Bowl concerts amidst the ongoing strikes from the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild, the rapper announced Tuesday.
“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop wrote in an Instagram statement. “We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a real proposal and we can all get back to work.”
The “Drop It Like Its Hot” singer first rescheduled the concerts with Dr. Dre, originally set for June 27 and June 28, to Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. He posted a video announcing that decision on June 2, a month after the WGA first went on strike.

WGA and SAG-AFTRA both being on strike has been hell for everyone in Hollywood. The writers and actors just want to receive fair compensation for their work, which lines the pockets of the same higher-up executives who oppose granting that request. With both sides locked down, planned release dates for film and TV projects have been pushed, the future of both industries has grown more uncertain, and tens of thousands of people are out of work — including Snoop Dogg, apparently, who has canceled two of his forthcoming concerts at the...

Dr. Dre has revealed why he turned down opportunities to work with fellow legends like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. While appearing on a recent episode of Kevin Hart’s Peacock talk show Hart to Heart, the producer said he “bowed out” of the collaborations because he didn’t want to tarnish how he felt about them as artists.
“They just asked me to work with them and I just was like, ‘What the fuck am I going to do with them?'” Dre told Hart after being asked whether he had any regrets. He elaborated that he didn’t want to affect “the way I feel about Stevie, Prince, Michael, Bruce Springsteen, and all of these amazing artists,” which “could change by working with them.”
“These are my fucking heroes,” he said. “I like the idea of what I grew up listening to and I want to keep it like that.
