Scream 4
Directed by Wes Craven
Screenplay by Kevin Williamson
2011, USA
This isn’t a comedy, this is a horror movie. People live, People die, people run, but more importantly people scream in Wes Craven’s fourth installment. In horror’s most self-reflexive and in some ways most successful horror franchise, Scream 4 is bloodier, smarter, better and just plain scarier than all three before it. In an era of reboots and remakes, Scream 4 treats its fans with an entry as salient as the original. More importantly Scream 4 obeys the number one rule: “Don’t fuck with the original.”
Craven comments when addressed about meeting expectations, “You’re addressing a generation of young fans, but also a generation that has gone with you for three, as well as a decade worth of other films. You have to be as good as, or better than those films.” Luckily for fans intelligence,...

Burnt out from the Oscar-Nominated movies? Looking for a unique film experience that will spark conversation? BuzzFocus caught up with director and writer Sebastian Gutierrez (The Eye, Gothika, Snakes on a Plane) who was excited to talk about his latest film, Elektra Luxx, a day in the life of its title character (Carla Cugino, Sin City) who is trying to reinvent herself but her surreal life makes that a difficult task.
Formerly a porn starlet, Elektra hopes to make it in the straight world while preparing for motherhood. The father of her child, Nick Chapel passed away so she uses her skills of her past trade to become a sex-education instructor at the local community center. A flight attendant Cora (Mary Shelton, Deathproof) who nearly had an affair with her late husband approaches her with lyrics from Nick’s unreleased record, completely dedicated to Elektra, and in exchange she has to seduce Cora’s fiancée.

We’ve seen most of these images before but we do get our first look at Anna Paquin in Scream 4. Dimension Films have released all of their official production stills from their 2011 movie and pretty much fans and the director are hoping the fourth instalment is more ‘Scream’ than Scream 3.
Of course we’ll find out when the film opens next April whether it’s a turkey or a prime slice of horror-suspense cinema. Check out the teaser trailer here.
Wes Craven describes his film as:
“I think it has echoes to the first [film]. There’s been a whole decade of horror films that in one way or another followed a certain pattern. Like you had torture porn, [and] a ton of remakes.”
As we all know Scream 4 had something of a difficult delivery but let’s hope the child isn’t, er, deformed on release and shunned...

Scream 4 was never really a movie on the cards. After a landmark original the two sequels were entertaining but throwaway. Scream defined an era of post-modernist horror which is only just settling in the dust, and J-Horror probably helped send it to the grave… but wait… what’s that scratching? Oh god, it’s Wes Craven’s fourth ‘stab’ in the series!
E! Online have posted this brand new image released via Dimension Films showing David Arquette dressed up to the nines as Deputy Dewey. Remember after the events of the first film he ended up with a gimpy hand but given his posturing in the image, that looks to be a thing of the past.
As we all know the production has been as messy as a bloodbath with writer Kevin Williamson walking away and replaced with Scream 3 hack Erin Kruger. But this image is quite a...

Looks like the storm has passed on this production, but boy, what a storm! There was bitching over the script, Kevin Williamson the franchise’s original writer walked away to be replaced by Scream 3 hack Ehrin Kruger and an extended shoot announced.
Scream 4 has been casting almost daily and the latest slice of fresh meat appears in the form of Aimee Teegarden from Friday Night Lights. She’ll be joining up with Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox-Arquette, David Arquette, Anna Paquin, Adam Brody, Emma Roberts, Mary Shelton and Lucy Hale, plus many more!
Craven used his Twitter account to post two brand new images – he’s good like that. These are pretty fun images, and at least we can rest assured they’ll be some blood spillage in this film! Red Right Hand anybody?
The movie is due in cinemas on 15th April, 2011 and they’ll need to release...
