Canada, the home of winter, looks to have no shortage of snowy inns set against fairytale-like landscapes with piles and piles of the white, fluffy stuff.
That’s because Hallmark, long a major producer of Christmas TV movies, shoots a lot of holiday flicks in Canada, even if the plotlines are set south of the border. In fact, there’s more to budget-friendly production tricks than fake snow on these TV movie shoots, as humble Canada stands in small-town America strung with colorful lights. Shooting north of the border allows producers to tap generous tax breaks and currency savings, seasoned local actors and crews and ample studios and costume...

There's no doubt how entertainment can affect us. It can be moving and thrilling and take us places we never imagined we go.
It can also bring us together through shared experiences.
Sometimes, it does a little of everything, as I discovered during a recent interview with Corey Sevier about his Christmas in July movie airing tonight, Take Me Back for Christmas.
This is a movie very close to Sevier's heart, as his wife Kate Pragnell wrote the script, and he directed the film.
He also costars with Vanessa Lengies, who starred alongside him in another Hallmark movie, Heart of the Holidays, and whom he had known since he was ten, having met when he starred on Lassie.
I've always been a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies that do the unexpected, and Lengies stars in the movie as Renee, who always dreamed of owning her own business. But when her mother got sick,...

It's finally time for Crisis on Infinite Earths to begin, and that means a bit of a schedule shuffle for The CW, so be sure to set your records appropriately.
Christmas programming reigns with a lot of familiar faces. You'll even find three stars from one of my favorite series from the past decade in festive fare even if they don't share screen time as Emily Rose, Lucas Bryan, and Colin Ferguson from Haven spread some cheer.
And on streaming, you'll find The Expanse and Marvel's Runaways. Read on for other surprises!

For a few years now writer/director Benjamin Ross Hayden has been dabbling in an interesting subgenre of filmmaking which mixes mysticism, fantasy, technology and the apocalyptic. His debut film Agophobia was a 30-minute blend of tech and fantasy and his feature film debut The Northlander appears to be working with similar themes even if the setting is slightly different.

Canada Day was two days ago, but it should probably be officially extended in order to celebrate the 30th birthday of Corey Sevier. He got his start as a child star, best known as Timmy for two seasons on the 1997 series remake of Lassie, and as Dan for two seasons on the series Little Men, but his adult career has been steadily growing, both on TV and the big screen
Speaking of steadily growing, so has his shirtless portfolio. So on his birthday, let’s take a look at the shirtless evolution of Corey over the last decade.
2004 – Decoys
2005 – North Shore
2006 – Gospel Of Deceit
2007 – Surf School
2010 – The Lost Future
2011 – Age Of The Dragons
2011 – 5th & Alameda
2011 – Immortals
2012 – Awaken
2012 – Osombie
2013 – Apartment 1303
Corey is currently starring on the Lifetime series Cedar Cove (which comes back for Season Two on July 19th), and while he hasn’t had any shirtless scenes yet, we have faith in him!

The Canadian actress is engaged to British actor and host Oliver Trevena, her rep confirms to People. Vandervoort, 29, who's best known for playing Supergirl on Smallville, has been dating the Young Hollywood host since the middle of last year. She's currently starring in the werewolf series Bitten on Syfy and is featured on the cover of the March issue of Maxim.

Other websites choose not to post about certain genre Kickstarter projects because of the accessibility it gives to aspiring and even established directors. Some view it as a “handout”, I don’t feel that way. Horror has always felt very communal to me. Fans of the genre stick together through thick or thin. There are success stories and there are also horror stories of the platform and rarely do genre sites post follow up posts about the Kickstarter projects they post after the deadline passes. In this post, I revisit all of the projects we posted on the site (some of them, I personally backed).

Gravitas Ventures recently announced the acquisition of Apartment 1303 3D, which will see a VOD release on June 17th and a limited theatrical release on July 25th. Here’s a look at the official Apartment 1303 3D trailer:
“Having grown up under the controlling grip of her fame-hungry mother (Rebecca De Mornay), Janet Slate (Julianne Michelle) jumps at the opportunity to move into what looks to be a great high-rise apartment in downtown Detroit. Yet some deals are too good to be true as one night her boyfriend Mark (Corey Sevier) finds her in the middle of the street – having fallen from the balcony thirteen stories above. When her sister Lara (Mischa Barton) tries to investigate the mystery of what happened, she moves into the same apartment and encounters the odd neighbors in the building, including an eerie nine-year old girl who seems to somehow know the real reason for Janet’s fall.
