- Was a massaged therapist at an upscale spa in West LA where he had famous celebrities and athletes among his clients.
- Has worked for over ten years with dual diagnosed mentally ill adults.
- Studied Tae Kwon-Do and began weightlifting in college. Both activities helped him overcome body insecurities and having been bullied as a child.
- Interned for casting director Katy Wallin for about a year where he got to read or run camera for hundreds of auditions and credits as being a great learning experience as a young actor in LA.
- Was President of the Inter-Fraternity Council at Denver University.
- Had a complicated form of Shingles at age 16 and was placed in the quarantine section of the hospital. Doctors told him he possibly go blind, deaf or die. When he started to get better the hospital sent a photographer to his room to take pictures of his healing body as part of an effort to document and learn from his case.
- Was Co-Captain of his high school basketball team.
- He originally auditioned to be a co-host of the show Lovestream on TheStream. When he followed up a couple of weeks later, Stream.TV founder Brian Gramo said he cast two females for that show and thought Schubert would be a great solo host for a show about filmmaking called Filmnut. Gramo didn't audition anyone else and gave the host job to Schubert.
- One of his first jobs in Los Angeles was working at a group home for abused adolescent children.
