A new episode of the JoBlo Horror Originals video series Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? has just been released, and for this one we’re digging into the making of one of my all-time favorite movies: the 1987 horror anthology Creepshow 2 (watch it Here)! To find out what went into the making of Creepshow 2, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Michael Gornick from a screenplay by George A. Romero (based on stories written by Stephen King), Creepshow 2 has the following synopsis:
Join our old friend, the rotting Creep himself, as he introduces this horror anthology which presents gruesome looks at three tales of horror: a hit-and-run driver in “The Hitchhiker”, a wooden Indian in “Ol’ Chief Wooden Head”, and four friends whose vacation on a secluded lake turns into a nightmare in “The Raft”. Creepshow 2 is a deliciously wicked roller coaster ride that will...

Here's our spoiler-filled review of the Red Dwarf series 12 opener, Cured...
This review contains spoilers.
See related Who are The Gifted? The Gifted: spoiler-free review The Gifted episode 1: every X-Men and Marvel Easter Egg
12.1 Cured
“Thank you, deep space!”
In recent years, it's never stopped being remarkable that we're still getting new episodes of Red Dwarf. The show's second lease on life got off to a bit of a shaky start with 2009's Back To Earth, but the back-to-basics approach of subsequent series has got the boys from the Dwarf (waggle your hands appropriately) back on track.
Red Dwarf Xii comprises the second batch of six episodes, out of the twelve that were filmed in early 2016, and as such, you might expect that there isn't much difference in tone between XI and Xii. Remarkably, writer and director Doug Naylor has given us Cured, a high concept...

It goes without saying that Kirk Douglas is a Hollywood icon. From his first role as Walter O’Neill in “The Strange Love of Martha Ivers,” (1946) to “Spartacus” (1960) and beyond that until his last, so far, appearance in a made for TV movie, he remains—even in retirement after a stroke and a helicopter crash— one of those larger than life movie stars, the kind they just don’t make any more. He had a look and a style. Those shiny white teeth could as easily smile charmingly at you or snarl like a barracuda. His bright blue eyes could be full of tenderness one minute, as in his love scenes in “Spartacus,” or fierce and mean as in “Gunfight at the Ok Corral.” He played complex characters that were always a mix of good and bad, but never evil.

We look back at the films based on Stephen King's writing. This time? It's Creepshow 2...
The film: The Creep arrives in town with a fresh batch of stories for another boy named Billy, who delights in grabbing a copy of the Creepshow comic. He reads the tale of Old Chief Wood’nhead first, in which an elderly couple find themselves victimised by an armed robbery in their general store. Next, The Raft, in which four college students take trip to a lake to go swimming, only to find out there’s something in the water. Finally, a married woman travelling home from a meeting with her lover loses control of her car and runs down a hitch-hiker, but flees from the scene to keep her life in order.

For the dog days of summer, what could be better than a movie with some canine teeth? And some claws. And a loud bark. And a nice wine for a dog day afternoon.
“The Howling” is a great 1980s werewolf film - there were a few of them back in the day. This one boasts Tfh head guru Joe Dante directing a screenplay by John Sayles- not to mention the likes of Patrick Macnee, Slim Pickens, John Carradine andKevin McCarthy onscreen. I’m in.
First of all, save your silver bullets. Do you know how much ordinary stuff can kill a dog? Wine is right up there - or any alcoholic beverage. But how about milk? That’s bad for Fido, too. Chocolate, also not so good for Rover. Nor are avocados, persimmons, eggs, fish, salt, sugar, yeast or macadamia nuts. It looks like the only thing dogs can safely eat are Bonz.

31 projects were presented by nine Russian production houses at a pitching to the Russian Cinema Fund.
Russia’s answer to Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity and an updated, Russian-set adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost were among the 31 film projects presented by nine Russian production houses - the so-called ‘leaders’ - at a pitching to the Russian Cinema Fund (Rcf) this week.
An expert committee gave each of the 31 projects a rating, but the final decision on how much production support - and whether it is a subsidy or conditionally repayable loan - will be decided by the Rcf later in the year.
Sergey Selyanov’s St Petersburg-based Ctb is behind the “first Russian space thriller”, Salyut 7, which would be based on the true story of the rescue mission for the orbital station in 1985. The film is budgeted at RUB320m and Ctb is looking to receive RUB150m from the Cinema Fund.

Sniper Elite 3 wants you to eliminate Hitler one more time with its “Hunt The Grey Wolf” pre-order bonus mission.
“Grey Wolf” is the code name that Allied forces gave to Hitler, and while many believe that the German leader shot himself in a bunker in 1945, others have a different opinion. In the exclusive Dlc content, players will explore the possibility of his demise at the hand of a sniper’s bullet during a secret trip to North Africa.
Setting up your shot will require the navigation of ancient streets and crumbling rooftops, as you sneak through an expansive open environment with randomized target identities that ensure no two playthroughs are the same. To make matters even more difficult, players will have to separate the real Hitler from his body double before pulling the trigger.
If this peaks your interest, then consider picking up the limited collectors edition for $69.99. It comes...

In that short time, their slacker ways have run the building into the ground. Tenants are moving out, no one drinks at the bar downstairs, and the building’s pets are going missing. If all that isn’t enough to make them sit up and take notice, they soon discover a mysterious creature is hiding in the basement and trying to...

Randy gets downright lycanthropic.
When I was in college – way back when – the student center had a room where a different video each week was piped in and played continuously. I would plop down between classes – when we weren’t drinking something horrible at the school newspaper office – and catch fifteen minutes or so of whatever they were showing. By the end of the week I had probably seen the whole feature – in bits and pieces out of sequence. I saw “Lemmings” that way, and “Groove Tube.”
I also saw the 1957 horror classic I Was A Teenage Werewolf that way, and it was a delightful week. It may have been the movie, or it may have been the horrible stuff we were drinking at the newspaper. After so much time, I’ll charitably attribute it to the film.
The movie stars Michael Landon, before his “Bonanza” days and waaaay before...

One obvious and really exciting evolution we noticed from the first New Moon trailer here to the latest here are the distinct changes made to Jacobs wolf form.Truth be told the first New Moon trailer featuring the JacobtoWolf snap transformation already had me looking for my sleeping bag and staking out a spot in line. Jakes 30 foot leap culminating with a snarling hulk of a wolf was the handsdown highlight of the 90 second tidbit. The fine CGI work seemed to me a clear indication of Summits commitment to the saga and coupled with New Moon Movies casting coups it really looked like they were pulling out all the stops to make us forgive and forget the less than stellar effects of Twilight. The first trailers wolf was most certainly a badass. It had excellent CGI work and it appeared to me that they took some visual cues from the...
