On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, the Elton John AIDS Foundation (Ejaf) will host its annual New York Fall Gala at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.
This year’s gala commemorates the Foundation’s 25th year and honors Founder Sir Elton John. President Bill Clinton, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, Sharon Stone, and others will pay tribute to Elton John’s achievements as a philanthropist and humanitarian. The legendary Aretha Franklin will be the special musical guest, along with performances by violinist Joshua Bell and Broadway’s The Lion King, featuring Heather Headley. Neil Patrick Harris will host the event.
“Elton’s philanthropic endeavors and activism for human rights and the arts have inspired millions and made a positive difference in people’s lives around the world,” said Ejaf Chairman David Furnish. “But without a doubt, Elton’s greatest contribution as a humanitarian is his 25-year commitment to...

Hello, good evening and welcome to our first Voice UK live blog of 2015. In a neat twist of fate, we're going live at the same time as this year's hopefuls. How about that?
Based on previous series of the spinning-chair spectacular, don't expect any overly harsh judicial criticism from the coaching panel - but do expect the Top 12 contestants to take to the stage, plus performances from reigning Voice UK champion Jermain Jackman and the omnipresent Olly Murs.
Join us from 7.15pm tonight to find out how it all pans out. Maybe, if we're all really good, we'll even get a 'Yeah!' from the one and only Sir Tom Jones.
22:09Howard and Lara from Team Tom, Autumn from Team Ricky and Clark from Team Rita are going home. Ricky comes up to the stage to give Autumn a hug.

The Voice UK's Live Shows are almost upon us! Ahead of tonight's performances, Digital Spy spoke to Team Tom's Howard Rose about showing his vulnerable side and his hopes to be as long-lasting as his coach Sir Tom.
...on what to expect from his Live Shows performance
"I'm excited to show everybody what I can do, [and] what I've done with the song that I'm gonna be singing - because it's fairly different to the original. I'm really excited about that - and I'm excited to see the response coming from the public."
...on showing his more vulnerable side
"My Live Shows performance is high energy, but maybe not in the way that people would expect. I suppose it's a little bit different to what people are going to expect.

We've already got Team Rita and Team Will all ready for the live shows on The Voice UK, but of course that's only half the story! Yep, Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones also had to cut down their teams from eight acts to just three, and what better way to do it than with some more knockouts?
The hopefuls each had to pick a song to convince their coaches to keep them in the competition, and given the strength of the field, it all got pretty intense. Having just about recovered, we've managed to bring you all the gossip, so read on for everything you need to know about tonight's show...

We're not sure how anyone managed to concentrate on their knockout rehearsals after Ricky's frankly bizarre dancing, which is apparently intended to relieve nerves. It's certainly... distracting. But somehow they did, so after Ricky had told...

The Voice UK coaches Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones have picked their teams for the upcoming live shows.
The duo each had to cut back their teams from eight acts to three in tonight's Knockouts episode, as the hopefuls all performed a song of their choice to convince their coaches to keep them in the competition.
Emmanuel Nwamadi, Stevie McCrorie and Autumn Sharif won places in the live shows on Team Ricky, while Sir Tom chose to carry on with Sasha Simone, Lara Lee and Howard Rose.
Nwamadi was speechless when Wilson chose him after his performance of Otis Redding's 'I've Been Loving You Too Long', while a shocked McCrorie - who impressed with his take on 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' - dropped to his knees with joy, but was later picked up by his friend in celebration.

We've had the blinds. We've had the battles. And now the contestants who are still standing on The Voice UK face the knockouts! Yes, over a double bill this weekend - there's an episode on Saturday and on Sunday - they'll each choose a "killer song" to try to make it into the live shows.
Exciting, right? And to make things even more exciting, we've got the full list of songs the acts have chosen. Rita Ora and will.i.am will pit their teams against each other on Saturday, while Ricky Wilson and Sir Tom Jones will put their acts to the test on Sunday. The Voice UK kicked off its all-important battles with a two-hour spectacular tonight, as 24 acts got paired up for 12 bouts in the ring. As Sir Tom Jones pointed out, "no biting" and "no kicking" was allowed - instead it was (surprise!) all about the voice.
With each coach being granted two steals this series, it was all to play for, all bets were off and it was all going down to the wire. Right, that's enough sporting phrases - let's get the ball rolling! (Sorry.)
Battle #1: Joyful Soundz vs Newtion Matthews
Team: Will
Song: 'Shout' - The Isley Brothers
What happened in rehearsals? This is one of the funniest battle rehearsals we have ever seen, ever. Will was babbling about how 'Shout' is one of his favourite songs "on the entire planet' ("Even if I was to take a spaceship out of space it would still be my favourite...

The Voice UK kicked off tonight, and already we have six acts who have made it through to the battles. Sure, Rita, Ricky, Sir Tom and will.i.am missed a few tricks - Emilie Cunliffe, Paul Cullinan, Matt Eaves and Stephen McLaughlin didn't get them turning (and often got them kicking themselves).
But it was good news for six other hopefuls, with Hannah Symons, Howard Rose, Letitia George, Lucy O'Byrne, Ryan Green and Stevie McCrorie all celebrating - and then preparing for the next stage of the competition.
Now, we want to know who you're backing at this stage. Who is your early favourite? Let us know by voting in our poll and leaving your comments below!

By now, you probably know whether you like The Voice UK or not. Tonight's launch of series four didn't deviate much from what we've come to expect - contestants (sorry, acts) who can all actually sing, a warm tone where everyone at least pretends to like each other, a family-friendly, safe feel. As it happens, we like it, but if you don't presumably not much will change from now on.
Of course, tonight's episode did bring one major change: Rita Ora has joined the coaching panel.
Love her or hate her - and make no bones about it, Rita Ora is the very definition of a Marmite celebrity - it's undeniable that landing her on the panel was a huge coup for The Voice UK. She's a tabloid darling, a number one popstar, a Fifty Shades of Grey actress. And, pleasingly for producers, she turned down Simon Cowell in favour of the Beeb.

The Voice UK is back - and the coaches aren't messing about. Well, they are - from Rita's flirting to will.i.am's babbling about steak - but even so, in just one episode, six acts made it through to the battle rounds after wowing with their blind auditions.
Read on to see how we ranked the first episode's blind auditions - and then let us know who you enjoyed by voting in our poll and leaving your comments below!
1. Lucy O'Byrne
'Ebben? Ne Andro Lontana' - Katherine Jenkins
Lucy won bonus points from us pretty early on, when she revealed her Nana Rose had got a passport specifically so she could fly to London for her audition (which is just adorable). And we couldn't help but love the ridiculous Vt, which saw her drop her coat when she got to a West End theatre to reveal an usher's outfit.
