- Film publicist. Remer served in the U.S. Army during the Second World War, then wrote film reviews for entertainment industry trade journals. Later he became national publicity director for 20th Century Fox. After a period of freelance publicity, he joined the publicity firm of Solters-Roskin-Friedman in 1972, where he represented Alan King and Carol Channing, among others.
