Whenever I read a synopsis for a film that deals with individuals locking themselves away and obsessing over each other, I get flashbacks to Matthias Glasner's traumatizing The Free Will. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it puts me on alert. So here we have a story that features just that: two individuals who lock themselves up to obsess over each other until they basically go crazy.
Directed by Scott Peake from a novel by award winning author Elizabeth Engstrom, Candyland stars James Clayton and Alexandra Essoe as Peter and Tess, two individuals for whom an exciting one night encounter turns into a "permanent self-exile from society that degenerates into their true savage nature."
