In December, Ryan O’Neal died due to congestive heart failure and a battle with leukemia and prostate cancer.
Only one out of four of his children was in attendance at his memorial service, where he was buried beside his late partner, Farrah Fawcett.
O’Neal’s son Griffin O’Neal, 59, claimed that he was “never invited” to the ceremony because “I’m the hated son who told the truth. Dark times in this family. Love means never having to say you’re sorry — and Ryan never did, to anyone,” he told the New York Post.
Griffin drove 2,000 miles from his home in Houston and upon his arrival he was informed that the service would not be held until after Christmas. However, it was held on Christmas Eve.
Tatum O’Neal and half-brother Redmond O’Neal were also not invited to attend the service. Patrick O’Neal was the only one of the O’Neal children in attendance.

Back when we did our Class of 1986 series years ago, one of the films that I decided to champion was The Wraith from writer/director Mike Marvin, which I hadn’t really seen discussed a whole lot amongst genre fans. Hopefully, that will now change with the brand new Vestron Blu-ray that came out last week, because if there’s any justice in this world, this horror/action hybrid will finally end up on more folks’ radars with this new release. It may not be the most original genre movie to come out of the ‘80s, but considering its stellar cast, incredible soundtrack, and a handful of mind-blowingly great driving sequences, The Wraith is very much a movie that should earn a rediscovery phase now.
The Wraith tells the story of a teenager named Jamie who is murdered by a street-racing gang, led by the maniacal Packard (Nick Cassavetes). Soon after,...

A film I’ve talked about ad nauseam for like decades now, Fred Walton’s April Fool’s Day has been a favorite of mine ever since I discovered it on VHS during the summer of 1987.
[Spoiler warning if you haven't seen April Fool's Day.] To me, it’s always been the perfect anti-slasher, where no one in the film really dies (unless you count the film’s missing ending), and instead leans into the whodunit aspects that are driving the mystery of just who exactly is terrorizing Muffy St. John (played by Deborah Foreman) and her friends during what’s supposed to be their idyllic lakeside weekend away from the stresses of college life.
What it may lack in an official body count, April Fool’s Day more than makes up for with its whip-smart script, charismatic performances, and a whopper of an ending that I certainly wasn’t expecting at all the first time I saw it.

Two of the five men sustained serious injuries, and one suffered "significant and serious stab wounds and cuts to his face, neck and upper body." Ryan O'Neal's troubled son Griffin was reprimanded by prosecutors on Friday for checking into rehab instead of attending a scheduled court date the day before.
The reality TV star appeared a day late in a San Diego courtroom after a $100,000 (£62,500) bench warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to appear at his official sentencing for a 2011 DUI and gun possession arrest.
The 47 year old, who was arrested on New Year’s Eve on a misdemeanour domestic violence charge, reportedly left jail just before he was due to appear in court for sentencing - and he went to rehab instead of the courthouse.
Griffin O'Neal has already pleaded guilty to the DUI and gun possession charges, after he veered into oncoming traffic while high on drugs and hit a van in August.
His attorney apologised to the court for the day delay, and the judge overseeing the case agreed to continue sentencing until 3 February, so O'Neal could complete his self-imposed rehab stint.

When asked if Ryan was mad at Farrah having cancer, Griffin said: "Yes, because the attention was diverted to Farrah. He didn't like that. Absolute complete narcissist in every way."
Griffin claimed the 'Love Story' star used his own 2001 battle with leukemia to divert attention away from Farrah's illness.
He added to U.S. talk show host Larry King: "I remember when she was diagnosed with cancer and my dad got upset and he goes, 'No, I'm dying. You're not dying. I'm dying.' And I said, 'Well, dad, that sounds a little selfish because you're in remission. You have been in remission for years now.

Alana Stewart has slammed allegations she embarked on a love affair with best friend Farrah Fawcett's longterm partner Ryan O'Neal - branding the reports "despicable".
The veteran actor's estranged son Griffin recently accused O'Neal of having an inappropriate relationship with Stewart as Fawcett fought for her life.
Ryan O'Neal and Stewart grew closer after rallying together to support the Charlie's Angels star as she bravely battled anal cancer - but Griffin O'Neal claims their friendship took a romantic turn in Fawcett's final months, before her death on 25 June.
He told In Touch Weekly magazine, "They were sharing a room together."
His allegations were backed up by Javier Salazar, a friend of O'Neal and Fawcett's son Redmond, who said, "Ryan and Alana's relationship was fishy."
Representatives for both O'Neal and Stewart were swift to deny the salacious claims - and now Stewart has taken aim at the people behind them.
She tells website GossipCop.com, “It never happened. Saying that is despicable.
"It's inconceivable anyone would say that. I would never do anything before, during or after Farrah's death. I was a friend of Farrah's for 30 years."
Stewart has also blasted Griffin O'Neal's claim that his father "was using Farrah for her money and fame", insisting that Ryan O'Neal "has never taken a dime from (Fawcett)" and had "always been generous to her".
She adds, "Ryan has plenty of his own money, more money than Farrah did."
Despite her anger over the allegations, the 64 year old has decided not to take legal action against O'Neal's estranged son: "There’s no point in suing Griffin, because it would cost tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees."...

Griffin O'Neal, son of Ryan O'Neal, made some shocking claims on Monday night's "Larry King Live," but a source says those claims aren't true. Griffin told Larry that Ryan gave him cocaine as a child: "I was 11 years old when he gave me cocaine and said, 'We're going to see a long movie called 'Barry Lindon.' It's a very long movie. Maybe this well help you.' I was 11. I look down at my little 2-year-old and I go, you know what, I'm so sorry, but I could never, ever, ever do that to my child." A source tells "The Insider" that Ryan would never give his young children any form of drugs. Griffin also told "Vanity Fair" that Ryan hit on his daughter Tatum at Ryan's longtime love, Farrah Fawcett's, funeral. A source says that the come-on was "just a joke.” Ryan's son also made the allegation...

Griffin O'Neal has forgiven his estranged father Ryan O'Neal for banning him from Farrah Fawcett's funeral - because he bid farewell to the actress in his heart.
The Love Story star barred his 44-year-old son from the service in June, telling reporters Griffin wasn't welcome because "he's a bad guy".
Griffin watched as his half-brother Redmond and sister Tatum filed into the cathedral, where they mourned the Charlie's Angels star, who died of cancer on 25 June.
But while Griffin is still not on speaking terms with his dad, he has accepted the decision and made peace with Fawcett's passing.
He tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, "Ryan didn't want me in. I call him Ryan now. I've had to let go of him as being my dad, not that he was ever really a dad. But he said, 'No, no Griffin'. Tatum, Patrick, even my daughter was allowed in. It's Ok. I said my goodbye to Farrah the day that she died.
"I said my goodbyes inside my heart and with the clouds and with the higher power that I believe in."...

Ryan O'Neal has blasted explosive new allegations he began a love affair with Farrah Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart as his longterm girlfriend fought for her life.
The veteran actor's estranged son Griffin is one of a number of sources to come forward with the sordid claims, accusing O'Neal of having an inappropriate relationship with Stewart.
O'Neal and Stewart have grown closer in the last three years after rallying together to support the Charlie's Angels star as she bravely battled anal cancer.
But Griffin O'Neal claims their friendship took a romantic turn in Fawcett's final months, before her death on 25 June.
He tells In Touch Weekly magazine, "They were sharing a room together."
The 44 year old goes on to claim Fawcett's ageing father, Jim, once walked in on the pair in the bedroom after flying in from Houston, Texas to visit his ailing daughter.
Griffin adds, "It made Jim uncomfortable, so he packed his bags and went home."
His allegations have been backed up by Javier Salazar, a friend of O'Neal and Fawcett's son Redmond, who admits, "Ryan and Alana's relationship was fishy."
A former business partner of Fawcett's goes on to add, "Ryan and Alana are a little too cozy with each other. It is raising eyebrows. They both stayed at Farrah's (home) in the end."
Representatives for both O'Neal and Stewart have denied the salacious claims to In Touch, but have declined to comment further.

Ryan O'Neal's estranged son Griffin O'Neal was banned from attending Farrah Fawcett's funeral on Tuesday - because he's "a bad guy".
Redmond, the actor's 24-year-old son by Fawcett, gave a reading during the ceremony at Los Angeles' Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels after he was granted a three-hour release from jail, where he's serving time on drug charges - but his half-brother was not welcome.
Speaking to U.S. news show Extra outside the funeral, Griffin O'Neal, 44, insisted Fawcett would have been upset he wasn't able to bid farewell to his father's longtime companion.
He said, "She's mad I'm not in there."
Speaking hours after the service, Paper Moon star O'Neal confirmed he refused to allow his son to attend the funeral, adding, "He's a bad guy."
Father and son have been estranged since the beginning of 2007 following a fight at the family home, which ended with Ryan firing off a shotgun into the stairwell. Reformed drug addict Griffin's 22-year-old pregnant girlfriend, JoAnne Berry, was injured during the fight.
Ryan O'Neal claimed his son grazed him "four or five times" with a fireplace poker, and that when he ducked to avoid the swinging weapon, Griffin "hit his own girlfriend in the head."...

Ryan O'Neal lashed out at his son Griffin O'Neal on Saturday night after discovering the 42 year old had chained his brother Redmond to a staircase - like a dog. According to Los Angeles law enforcement officials, the discovery triggered the volatile family fight, which ended with Ryan's arrest after he allegedly fired a gun shot. Ryan returned from a dinner celebrating Farrah Fawcett's birthday and found Redmond tethered to a staircase with handcuffs on his ankles. According to website Tmz.com, Griffin had taken the extreme steps after finding his brother unconscious from an apparent drug overdose. After calling paramedics to the home, Redmond became responsive and claimed he had just been sleeping. Griffin believed his brother had overdosed and chained him to the staircase to prevent him from leaving and buying more drugs. When Ryan returned home, he apparently became enraged when he tripped over the chain tied to Redmond. Police officials tell Tmz.com they believe it was Ryan, not Griffin, who initially began swinging a fireplace poker that struck Griffin's pregnant girlfriend Joanna Berry, who called the authorities to the O'Neal home and was later treated in hospital for a cut above her eye. Reports suggest the altercation escalated and Ryan fired a warning shot into the staircase to scare Griffin. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Redmond still tethered and shot video as evidence to document the situation. They also shot video of Ryan's injuries. Ryan was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after the fight and his case has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. The District Attorney will decide whether or not to file charges against the star.

Ryan O'Neal's arrest report has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office who will decide whether or not to file charges against the star. O'Neal was arrested Saturday night and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after a fight with his 42-year-old son Griffin O'Neal. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has concluded their investigation and referred the case to the DA's office yesterday afternoon. O'Neal's attorney, Mark Werksman, claims his client was acting in self-defense and says Griffin consumed alcohol just before the scuffle, "which could have contributed to his violent outburst." He says O'Neal was returning from a dinner celebrating Farrah Fawcett's 60th birthday and found his son at his home and asked him to leave. Werksman insists Griffin was the aggressor and his client "got the worst of it" saying Ryan was "thrown to the ground and beaten." The attorney is confident his client's name will be cleared in the incident, adding, "Ryan will be completely vindicated and exonerated." Meanwhile, Griffin O'Neal and his pregnant girlfriend Joanna Berry have hired top attorney Gloria Allred, who claims they may be called to testify against Ryan O'Neal in a criminal case if charges are filed.

Actor Ryan O'Neal was arrested at his Malibu, California home and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after a fight with his son Griffin O'Neal on Saturday night. Sheriff's deputies and paramedics responded to a call at 12:30 am regarding a suspected battery and say that O'Neal, 65, fired at least one gunshot during the altercation. According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt John Benedict, "Deputies determined that Mr. Griffin O'Neal was assaulted by his father during a family dispute." He was booked at the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station and released at 5:30 am on Saturday after posting $50,000 bail. Sheriff's sources tell entertainment website Tmz.com that a 22-year-old female friend of Griffin's was "inadvertently" injured at the scene and transported to a local hospital. Authorities would not confirm that the injury was a result of the gunshot. Griffin O'Neal, 42, the son of Ryan and Joanna Moore, has had brushes with the law before and spent 18 days in jail for failing to perform community service ordered by a judge who found him guilty of reckless boating in a 1986 accident that killed the son of film director Francis Ford Coppola. He also pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge in 1989 and in 1992 agreed to spend one year in a live-in drug rehabilitation program after pleading no contest to charges he shot at his estranged girlfriend's unoccupied car. The latest incident occurred just one day after the family received the news that actress Farrah Fawcett, who was the longtime girlfriend of Ryan and the mother of Griffin's half-brother Redmond, was cancer free after a battle with anal cancer.
