A promo for the upcoming mixed martial arts event Ufc 102, which features Randy Couture in a title fight, has revealed some of the first official footage from Sylvester Stallone's upcoming film, The Expendables. The clip looks at the upcoming fight between Couture (who stars alongside Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li in the film) and Antonio Nogueira, mixing in some shots from the film with interview footage. Sadly, the video doesn't show us much beyond Randy Couture on set and a few of his action shots from the film. Which makes sense, as this is clearly just a cross-promotional piece that will help hype the film while promoting the Ufc event (and subsequently, selling tons of pay-per-view subscriptions). What we do see in the footage is a few looks at other cast members who have been absent thus far, including Jet Li. The clips also nods at what we already know about The Expendables, in...

When you see Inglrourious Basterds this weekend and realize that Quentin Tarantino hasn't quite made the 'men on a mission' movie he once talked about, you might be ready for Sylvester Stallone's 'men on a mission' movie The Expendables. (Disclaimer: I liked, perhaps loved Basterds, but it's not a straight-up action movie by any means. Do not take that as a reason not to see it!) We've already seen some fun behind the scenes footage from Stallone's flick (pow! pow! pow!) and now we've got some actual footage cut into a piece promoting a Ufc fight. The clip is ostensibly looking into the upcoming Randy Coture / Antonio Nogueira matchup for Ufc 102. But because Coture is in The Expendables, it basically becomes a marketing tool for the film. That's how we get to see the first footage as it'll appear on the screen, and it's no surprise that much of...

Some footage from the upcoming action adventure film, "The Expendables", has been made available to view. Found in a video to promote an upcoming Ufc event, the sneak peek exposes the shooting of few brief action scenes from the film's Brazil set.
The video was put together by director/writer/star Sylvester Stallone in his effort to show support to Antonio Nogueira and co-star Randy Couture, who will battle it out during the August 29 Ufc event. In the video, Stallone interviews the two fighters and some of the first looks at the film intercepted the discussion.
"The Expendables" centers its story on a team of mercenaries who heads to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator, who has caused devastation in the last 20 years. Steve Austin, Dolph Lundgren, Brittany Murphy and Charisma Carpenter are among the star-studded cast ensemble.

Lame poster. Big fun
Besides appearing in Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming action-tastic feature The Expendables, Randy Couture and Antonio Nogueira will be duking it out on August 29th during a Ufc event. Stallone, who is a fan of people beating the poo out of each other, put together a video to help promote the fight. He’s seen interviewing the two fighters and, for kicks, shows some footage from the anticipated film.
The story revolves around a group of mercenaries who attempt to overthrow a South American dictator who is not Hugo Chavez…but it should be.
The Expendables also stars Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Stone Cold Steve Austin with a cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film pulverizes theaters on April 23rd, 2010.
(I also included a clip of Stallone doing some behind-the-scenes action.)
