Exclusive: CNN spin-off network Hln is developing a follow up to Joke Productions’ Golden State Killer documentary series Unmasking A Killer after police arrested and charged 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo for a number of the murders.
Joke Fincioen, who runs the eponymous production company, tells Deadline that it was a “privilege to witness this moment in history” after spending years on the high-end doc project.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert announced the arrest last week, coming after Paul Holes, a retired investigator with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and long-time investigator on the case, is thought to have made a break on the case by searching a free genealogy website.
Fincioen says it is now working on a follow-up for the Time Warner-backed broadcaster. “There is a lot to cover and still uncover in terms of the offender and his life. Working with Hln, a news network,...

A&E Network picked up Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne, a new unscripted series featuring magician Andrew Mayne. The series, which will premiere January 13 at 10 Pm with back-to-back episodes, has Mayne performing illusions designed to help people get even by teaching a lesson to those who’ve wronged them. They include cars “melting away”, iPhones winding up in a “pickle” and someone’s precious motorcycle getting shot out of the sky. The future of reality TV could be kids who think they've had past lives.
A Los Angeles production company is currently holding a nationwide casting call for children who claim to have, or have had, past life memories for a new reality series, "Ghost Inside My Child," scheduled to air on the Bio Channel later this year.
A pilot episode of the series aired a few months ago, with three kids who had gone through various steps of recovering memories of their alleged past lives.
Now, producers Joke Fincioen and Biagio Messina -- who are married to each other -- are looking for other families with kids who, as the request states, "have inexplicable memories and experiences of another life."
"We were pregnant at the time when the idea first came to us," Fincioen told The Huffington Post. "We thought what would we do if this happened with our daughter?...

Dying To Do Letterman – directed by Biagio Messina & Joke Fincioen Festival screening times – 3/4 @ 7pm, 3/6 @ 7pm, 3/8 @ 5pm World Premiere Steve Mazan has had one dream since he was a young lad of twelve, and surprisingly it had very little to do with masturbation. Little Steve, long considered the class clown, wanted to one day perform stand-up comedy on the David Letterman show. Why Letterman and not Carson? No clue but if one were to hazard a guess it would probably be because Letterman, unlike his white-haired mentor, was himself a truly edgy and goofy-looking comedian. The dream sits in the back of Mazan’s head for years, but he continues to work the comedy clubs honing his craft, skipping out on bar tabs, and “disappearing” hecklers just waiting for the right people to notice him and invite him to the Show. Confession. This Shock writer was honestly not too familiar with the first season of VH1's Scream Queens prior to walking on set for this report on a cold, brisk December morning here in Los Angeles. Shepherding the show into its second season are returning executive producers Joke Fincioen and Biagio Messina with judge and acting coach John Homa also returning.
