Celtic needed to respond after their poor domestic performances in recent weeks. And they came to a normally difficult venue and put four past the home side Lassad Nouioui opened the scoring before Mikael Lustig made it two and Ryan Stevenson then scored an own goal. Gary Hooper rounded off the win in the second half but Fraser Forster still had to save a penalty in the final few minutes. Celtic were the better side in the match but they were lucky to win by four goals as Hearts quite played well and didn’t deserve to be on the end of such a scoreline.
Hearts made one change to the team that drew 0-0 with Motherwell at the weekend. Danny Grainger was replaced with Kevin McHattie. Hearts lined up in their normal 4-2-3-1 formation.
