In anticipation of "Milk" limited release in late November, Focus Features have brought forward a series of clips. Exposing many fresh footage from the biopic movie about the gay-rights icon Harvey Milk who was tragically murdered a year after he was elected to public office, the snippets present cut-out scenes from Harvey's 48th birthday celebration to the time he brings Anne Kronenberg to his campaign team.
Highlighting on tagline "His life changed history, his courage changed lives", "Milk" chronicles the last eight years on the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be voted into public office in America. Teaming up talented actors that include Sean Penn, James Franco, Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch and Diego Luna, it focuses on the later life, political career, and assassination of the San Francisco city supervisor and gay rights activist.
This biopic drama comes from the Academy Award-nominated director Gus Van Sant.

Toronto - When Ed Harris was at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting "A History of Violence" three years ago, he gave co-star Viggo Mortensen a book. It was "Appaloosa," a Western by crime writer Robert B. Parker that Harris had chosen as his second feature as a director, after the acclaimed biopic "Pollock."
Even with the popular Mortensen on board, Harris said it was difficult lining up the bare-bones $20 million budget necessary for the project.

Focus Features have just released the first trailer of "Milk". Reeling in the first glimpses into their based-on-true-story feature film, the trailer is made in line of its tagline, "His life changed history, his courage changed lives". By that it means that the footage focuses on some of the main conflicts of the film, especially the social climate in late '70s.
Providing viewers also with Harvey Milk's conflict with city supervisor Dan White and the threats to his life, the trailer let out the performances of Sean Penn as Milk, Josh Brolin as White, Emile Hirsch as Cleve Jones, James Franco as Scott Smith and Diego Luna as Jack Lira.
