- Brother of acclaimed Manhattan photographer Daniel R. Levin (Dan Levin) whose works are part of the collections of Elton John and museums.
- Played guitar in punk/blues band for several years with writer/director Jacob Kornbluth, before getting into visual effects.
- Grandson of Harold Goldman, co-founder of the National Association of Record Merchandisers (NARM), and the owner of Bobbin Records. Bobbin Records helped launch the careers of many renowned blues artists including Little Milton, Piano Slim and Albert King.
