Composer, conductor and arranger George Lessner was educated at the Budapest Royal Academy of Music and studied with Bela Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly, and Ernst von Dohnanyi, and became a US citizen in 1926. Joining ASCAP in 1954, he was the musical director for Lance Productions and he scored Broadway musicals including "Sleepy Hollow" and radio series including "Texaco Star Theatre", "Prudential Hour" and "Great Moments of Music", and composed eight symphonies and scores for documentaries.
