In October, some of our New York City actors hit a slow patch, while others were productive, going on auditions and even having a first onscreen kiss.Scott WintersScott Winters had a productive month, earning roles in three short films and getting two auditions for television pilots. He was surprised to get cast in one film and had his first onscreen kiss in another.Why were you surprised to get cast? I felt as if I blew the audition. I didn't take my own advice. When I go to auditions, I try and shut everybody out. I sometimes put on headphones and just get in the zone. But I fell victim to what Paul Barry at New Jersey Shakespeare calls "the cocktail party." I saw a bunch of people I knew there, and it was like, "Oh, hey, how are you? What's going on?" I was not as focused as I want to be.
