The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is finally arriving in cinemas this weekend. Here in the UK, it has hit the big screen a day early and is now playing in theatres, with its Us release date set for today.
The anticipation is buzzing for Peter Jackson’s return to Middle-earth, and I’m looking forward to seeing how high the numbers rise over the weekend at the box office.
We’ve seen plenty of brilliant things from the film already, most recently with a great new clip earlier in the week. And now Warner Bros. have released another TV spot for the States, with another great blend of action and adventure.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is finally arriving in theatres this weekend, and the anticipation is naturally running on high. Peter Jackson’s original trilogy stormed the box office three years in a row, and now his prequel trilogy is set to do the same over the next two and a half years.
The film arrives in UK theatres tomorrow, and this Friday in the Us, and is expected to have a slew of awesome trailers attached to it. And with hours to count down until it hits, Jackson himself has given us a new clip from the film through Facebook, featuring an encounter between Bilbo Baggins and Gollum.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is inching ever closer to its big screen release, with Peter Jackson’s blockbuster now on the cusp of returning us to Middle-earth.
Jon has seen the film already – you can read our review here – and it certainly sounds like it will be welcomed with open arms for fans of Jackson’s original trilogy. And if for nothing else, it is well worth seeking out to get a taste of the 48fps format.
With just days before it arrives on the big screen – two in the UK, three in the Us – Warner Bros. have released two new TV spots, giving us yet more to look forward to this weekend.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected is set to hit theatres next weekend, and things couldn’t be looking much better for Peter Jackson’s return to Middle-earth.
The film kicks off a new trilogy, adapting the original novel by J.R.R. Tolkien, with the second and third instalments coming in 2013 and 2014.
Yesterday brought with it our first look at The Hobbit: There and Back Again, the final instalment in the trilogy. And now EW have debuted the first image from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, the middle entry in the new films.
““The dragon is a huge, wonderful, amazing part of the story, but it doesn’t end there,” says screenwriter and producer Philippa Boyens. “Everyone can suspect there’s a rather large battle in film three.””
With more filming still to go in the New Year, the cast for the second and third films remains a little uncertain, but we...
