Walton Goggins, who’s among the major cast additions to the upcoming third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, is staying mum about the details of his character or storyline, but he is sharing his thoughts on the experience.

We spend all this time together, whether we like it or not, eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. We work where we stay. I went to a lot of the places where we’re filming now, the same streets and sandy beaches,” he said. “I have come so far in my life and been healed on a number of levels. I am so grateful for this moment and the path I’ve been walking.”

Actor Julian Kostov is joining HBO’s The White Lotus, replacing Miloš Biković in the show’s cast.
Kostov (Shadow and Bone) will recur in the show’s third season, which is set to begin filming in Thailand this month. He joins the cast after HBO “decided to part ways” with Biković, following public criticism from Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs over Biković’s seeming support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In a Jan. 24 social media post, the ministry wrote, “HBO, is it all right for you to work with a person who supports genocide & violates international law?” over a video clip of statements Biković has made about Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. The Serbia-born actor has worked in Russia for the past decade; he received an award from Russian leader Vladimir Putin in 2018 and became a Russian citizen in 2021.

“The White Lotus” Season 3 has added Julian Kostov to its cast.
Kostov will appear in a recurring role in the HBO series that was previously held by Miloš Biković. Biković was recently cut from the series, however, over his support of Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the country’s war against Ukraine.
“Today, a targeted campaign has been unleashed against me, seemingly as an external maneuver to influence decisions that can create a disturbing precedent shadowing the essence of artistic freedom,” Biković previously said in a statement. “The result of such a narrative is the triumph of absurdity and the defeat of art.”

It appears hopes have been dashed for those holding on to the belief that somehow Jennifer Coolidge survived HBO’s The White Lotus season two and will return for season three. Granted, the odds were against anything other than a Coolidge flashback.
The official casting announcement for season three confirms Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong will lead the cast of the critically acclaimed, Emmy winning series. In keeping with the previous two seasons, season three will find the new cast visiting a different White Lotus resort property.
The announcement also confirmed filming will take place in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok beginning next month.

Goodbye, Tanya — Belinda’s back!
Natasha Rothwell will return to “The White Lotus” for Season 3, Variety has learned from multiple sources close to the production.
Rothwell was a fan favorite in Season 1 as spa manager Belinda Lindsey, who was strung along by wealthy resort guest Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge) with promises of an investment to open her own practice. Plot and character details remain under wraps for the new season, but creator Mike White teased after the Season 2 finale that he envisions “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality” — potentially aligning with Belinda’s wellness background.
Variety previously reported that Season 3 would be set in Thailand.
Rothwell’s role in “The White Lotus” earned her a nomination for best supporting actress in a limited or anthology series at the 2022 Emmys. Because the series returned with reappearing characters after initially being planned as a one-off season,...

“The White Lotus” is heading to Thailand, multiple sources close to the production tell Variety.
As the first two seasons of Mike White’s “The White Lotus” were shot at Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively, it’s possible that Season 3 will take place at one of the luxury hotel giant’s four properties in Thailand, which are located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle. Thailand’s Four Seasons resorts are spread across the city, country, jungle and beach, giving White plenty of settings to play with, if he so chooses.
HBO declined to comment.
White had previously hinted that Season 3 may take place in Asia and focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”

The White Lotus took home the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series at the 2023 SAG Awards.
While speaking on behalf of the cast, F. Murray Abraham began the acceptance speech by thanking SAG-AFTRA and HBO.
“This was the best job I ever had,” he said, explaining that he got to work with a “really remarkable, wonderful family of actors.” He also credited creator Mike White and executive producers David Bernad and Mark Kamine for putting “together an international company of technicians and actors.”
Abraham explained that the cast and crew grew close while filming in Sicily, Italy because they all “lived together in the same place.” He added, “We all ate together and we all worked together.”
“This is not only for the actors,” he continued. “This is for the entire company.”

That’s up a whopping 46 from the series’ previous best, which was the sixth and penultimate episode of the Sicily-set second season on Dec. 5. Discovery’s proprietary viewership data for streaming on HBO Max.
Mike White’s dark comedy has experienced a ratings boom since its Oct. 30 Season 2 premiere, which garnered just over 1.5 million viewers across HBO and HBO Max on its debut night, up 63 in comparison to the “White Lotus” series premiere’s audience in July 2021, which also aired on HBO and HBO Max.
The first season of “The White Lotus” closed with 1.9 million multiplatform viewers for its August 2021 finale.

Sorry, were you hoping to book a weekend stay at The White Lotus? Too bad — this luxury resort is all booked up. The popularity of Mike White's sardonic drama has been soaring, with a buzzy second season to rival the first. Between that and the fact that it isn't nearly as expensive as some other HBO juggernauts (no need to digitally create 15 different dragons for this show!) it's no surprise to learn that "The White Lotus" has been renewed for a third season. So long as series creator Mike White is ready to deliver scathing commentary directed at wealthy elites, HBO is happy to fund him.
White, who created "The White Lotus," also serves as its executive producer, director, and its sole writer. David Bernad and Mark Kamine also executive produce. Of the series renewal, White said in a statement:

HBO’s Emmy®-winning anthology series The White Lotus, from Mike White, will return for a third installment following a new group of guests at another White Lotus property.
The first installment, which premiered July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, received 20 Emmy® nominations across 13 categories and ten wins, the most wins of any program that year, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. The second installment, set in Sicily, debuted on October 30 and will conclude on December 11. Its first episode has already been watched by more than 7.6 million viewers, and last week the series hit an all-time weekly high, ranking as the #1 title overall on HBO Max.
Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films quote: “Reflecting on The White Lotus’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows.

HBO’s currently on a trip to Sicily, but it’s already booked another stay at “The White Lotus.” Mike White’s anthology series has been renewed for a third season, the channel announced Thursday.
The news comes in the middle of the show’s second season, which premiered on October 30 and will conclude December 11 after seven episodes.
Like the first season, which premiered in July 2021, Season 2 revolves around the relationships, petty rivalries, and dysfunctions of the guests and employees staying at the titular luxury resort chain. And then there are the murders. Both seasons were shot on location at different vacation destinations — Season 1 in Hawaii, and Season 2 in Sicily. There are worse locales for a TV set. For Season 3, the show will again switch locations to a new White Lotus somewhere else in the world, although there’s no word yet on where White and the crew will be headed.

“The White Lotus” has been renewed for Season 3 at HBO.
The news of the renewal comes as creator Mike White’s hit anthology series has aired just three out of seven episodes of its second season. Like the seasons before it, the third season will follow a new group of guests at an entirely different White Lotus resort. The first season was set in Hawaii, while the second is set in Sicily.
“Reflecting on ‘The White Lotus’’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming and head of HBO drama series and films. “And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision. “The White Lotus” will return for Season 3, HBO announced on Friday. Fresh off the successful debut of the show’s second season, HBO has ordered a third installment of creator/writer/director/showrunner Mike White’s Emmy-winning anthology series.
“The White Lotus” Season 3 will feature new characters and a new setting, following in the footsteps of Season 2 which shifted the locale from Season 1’s Maui to Sicily (but still at a White Lotus hotel) and boasts an almost entirely new ensemble save for Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya and her new husband Greg.
Season 3 will, of course, take place at another White Lotus hotel.
“There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and there’s no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team,” White said in a statement. “I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am...

Mike White will be looking for a new five-star resort to check in to after HBO renewed The White Lotus for a third season.
It comes only three episodes in to season two, which is currently airing on Sunday nights.
What started as an experiment in contained filming during the pandemic has become one of the Warner Bros. Discovery network’s biggest and buzziest shows with the first episode of season two scoring over 7.6M viewers and the series ranking as the most-watched title on HBO Max.
As usual, the next chapter will feature new characters and locale – although you won’t be surprised if Jennifer Coolidge reprises her role as Tanya McQuoid-Hunt.
The first season, which premiered in July 2021, was set in Hawaii. It starred Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, Molly Shannon, Fred Hechinger and Brittany O’Grady alongside Coolidge.

The White Lotus creator Mike White is already thinking about the HBO show’s Season 3, even on the red carpet for Season 2.
“We just turned in our last episode to the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race,” White told Deadline. “But if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”
If that happens, a familiar face from the series may be aboard in Jennifer Coolidge.
“Jennifer is my friend and everybody loved her in the first season, and I was like, ‘I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer.’ And maybe that’s still the case. Like, maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer, either. There are so many fun actors we’ve worked with so far, so...
