Eureka Entertainment announced today that they will be releasing Jet Li’s martial arts extravaganza Black Mask on Blu-ray on April 23rd.
Influenced by Bruce Lee’s role as Kato in The Green Hornet, Black Mask stars Jet Li as Tsui Chik, “a librarian who leads a quiet, unassuming life – or, at least, that’s what he wants people to believe. In truth, he was once a member of the 701 Squad, a group of elite combatants produced by a failed super-soldier project. In-kind with his former comrades, his central nervous system has been altered to render him impervious to pain. When several of his fellow test subjects resurface and embark on a crimewave under the leadership of their former commander Hung Kuk (Patrick Lung), Tsui is forced to use his extraordinary abilities once more. Donning a costume, he sets out to face his past – as the vigilante known as the Black Mask.

Ah, 1996. The year that gave us Fargo, Scream, From Dusk till Dawn, The Craft and The Frighteners. It also gave us Daylight, with Stallone, Barb Wire with Pamela Anderson, Eraser with Arnie and… The Quest, with Jean-Claude Van Damme, who also directed it. The Quest. You remember this, right? I mean… at a time when action-stars were squeezing the last drops of sweat and tears from the action-movie genre that hit massive heights in the 80s, Van Damme joined them. Mariah Carey has proven Airbnb isn’t just for 20-year-old hipsters traveling on the cheap, but not every traveler on the Internet lodging site can afford a $10,000/night house in Malibu. We're told Mimi used the site to rent out an awesome seaside home on Carbon Beach from movie producer Michael Lambert while she’s back in the L.A. area. 24 % of NFL players ashamed of their peen, homophobic communities lead to early deaths
Andrew Rannells returned to Girls this week, and while he did get to make up with Hannah, he came with some baggage in terms of a bad boyfriend. “I’m very happy that he’s trying to make up with Hannah and Marnie, but it was really hard to shoot those scenes with Danny Strong because it’s so painful to be in that relationship that is a disaster and that you know is compromising yourself and where you would like to be versus where you are. So that was tough — that’s a tough place for Elijah to land, initially. That said, Danny Strong could not have been a better, more hilarious onscreen boyfriend. But that relationship Elijah’s having right now is a little tough.” Also, I think he’s now a spokesman for J.

Documentary film-maker who caused a worldwide stir after smuggling camera equipment into Tibet
Vanya Kewley, who has died aged 75, was the courageous and passionate producer-director of many outstanding television documentaries exposing human-rights violations across the world. Most famously, after three years of secret contacts with Tibetan exiles, in 1988 she smuggled an amateur video camera and sound equipment into Tibet. Working alone, she made the first documentary in 40 years about that remote region, which had been effectively cut off from the outside world since Mao Zedong's victorious Red Army swept in after the end of China's civil war in 1949.
Slipping away by secret arrangement from a tourist group, Vanya travelled in disguise wearing peasant garb, helped by local guides for six weeks while covering more than 4,000 miles across Tibet's mountains and valleys. She interviewed some 160 individuals, including monks, nuns and former political prisoners, who described on camera their experiences of torture,...
