In 1970, Elvis Presley traveled to Washington, D.C., with one goal in mind: to get a badge from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. He was a collector of various law enforcement badges and believed that this would be the pinnacle of his collection. He also thought it would afford him new authority. When he learned that his request had been denied, he almost broke down in tears.
Elvis desperately wanted a badge from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs
When Elvis arrived in D.C., he delivered a note at the White House requesting to meet with President Richard Nixon. Soon after, he went to a meeting with the Deputy Narcotics Director John Finlator. Here, he requested a badge from the bureau.

The January 6th Committee promised a star witness Tuesday at their surprise hearing, and former Donald Trump insider Cassidy Hutchinson more than delivered. The top aide to Trump’s last Chief of Staff Mark Meadows provided vivid testimony on what was actually going on in the White House on that terrible day, and who knew what when.
A true jaw-dropping moment occurred when Hutchinson described being told that Trump tried to head to the Capitol himself on January 6. “I’m the f*cking president, take me up to the Capitol now,” Trump is alleged to have screamed at his Secret Service detail.
Denied the request by agents, Trump tried to grab the wheel of his presidential car, known as the Beast, to take control of the vehicle himself, Hutchinson testified she was told by Tony Ornato, the deputy White House chief of staff, in the late morning of January 6, 2021. “Sir,...

In bombshell testimony to the Jan. 6 committee, former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that on Jan. 6 an irate President Trump railed against aides and Secret Service officers who refused to transport him to the Capitol, allegedly yelling, “I’m the f-ing president, take me to the Capitol now,” and attempting to grab the steering wheel of the presidential limousine as it left the rally at the Ellipse.

The Market Hotel announced Wednesday that it will no longer be hosting John Hinckley, Jr. — the man who shot at and tried to kill Ronald Reagan in 1981 — at an upcoming July concert. However, the venue is not so convinced about the decision to remove the “provocative happening” from its calendar.
“There was a time when a place could host a thing like this, maybe a little offensive, and the reaction would be ‘it’s just a guy playing a show, who does it hurt — it’s a free country,’ ” the venue wrote.

Turns out Omarosa Was tossed out of the White House on her ass by the Secret Service because she wanted it that way ... according to the folks at SNL. President Trump's former adviser's firing/resignation was roasted by Leslie Jones and Michael Che during the Weekend Update. The bit is funny, but when you're dealing with Omarosa ... it could be reality. C'mon, you can totally see her retelling the story of her White House exit exactly this way.

After orchestrating a Secret Service and inviting moviegoers into the Golden Circle, it seems writer-director Matthew Vaughn is gearing up to complete his boisterous Kingsman trilogy.
Word comes by way of Cbr, revealing that Vaughn has “got plans” for a potential trilogy-capper, which isn’t all that surprising when you consider that the director has always envisioned Kingsman as a three-film arc.

It’s hardly surprising when actors proclaim their desire to play James Bond on the big screen. Aside from the fact that he’s an iconic character at the centre of a legendary film franchise that has run for over fifty years, James Bond is also the embodiment of male wish fulfilment. With his cool gadgetry, exotic locations, unparalleled skill-set, and preternatural seductive abilities, 007 would be an enviable feather in the cap of any celluloid performer, and the latest to throw his hat into that ring is Spider-Man himself – Tom Holland.
Holland is an enthusiastic interviewee, and as such, has previously been heard to announce his desire to play everyone from Bond to Batman. Evidently, his Marvel experience has given him a taste for franchise work. After all the will-he-won’t-he shenanigans concerning what will now be Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007, you’d think that finding a director for the 25th Bond movie might be a relative walk in the park. Well, think again, because after being heavily-linked to the gig, Denis Villeneuve has officially pulled out.
And with the film scheduled for release in 2019, it’s clear that Barbara Brocolli and Michael G Wilson at Eon Productions need to get moving – and fast.
As little as a month ago, things were looking up. Villeneuve himself had said “that for me to do a Bond movie would be a deep, deep pleasure”. With that, the cameras were going to start rolling in the New Year, although to be fair to the Blade Runner 2049 director, he had always maintained that he couldn’t add too much to the speculation. Not even past presidents can avoid being called in for jury duty.
Former President Barack Obama honored his civic obligations in Chicago on Wednesday morning, reporting for jury duty at the Windy City’s Daley Center with his Secret Service detail in tow.
Earlier, Obama was seen leaving his home in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood with a motorcade of black SUVs, CNN reported. After he arrived at the Daley Center, Obama shook hands with fellow would-be jurors and autographed copies of his books.
The former president was ultimately dismissed without having to serve on a jury, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Trump first met with American service members stationed at the Yokota Air Base outside Tokyo before visiting Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for a round of golf alongside Hideki Matsuyama, the fourth-ranked golfer in the world.
The two leaders then indulged in a steak dinner, with Abe even surprising Trump with trucker hats Trump embroidered in gold with a slogan borrowed from the president’s campaign motto, “Make America Great Again.

After over forty years since his last proper appearance in the franchise, James Bond’s nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld finally returned in 2015’s Spectre. As played by the Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz, this reimagined Blofeld was actually Bond’s long lost adoptive brother who suffered from a serious case of sibling rivalry. As the movie left Blofeld to die another day, it was assumed that Waltz would be back for what’s likely Daniel Craig’s final bow as 007 in 2019’s Bond 25.
It turns out, though, that this is definitely not on the cards. Waltz was recently asked if we should expect another appearance from him as Blofeld and he made it abundantly clear that we shouldn’t. The way he worded his reply, though, doesn’t rule out the possibility that the character could be recast.

With wife Jackie Kennedy by his side, the 46-year-old president was struck by two bullets — one in the head and one in the neck. It’s the end of the world yet again in the sci-fi disaster thriller, Geostorm. An unofficial sequel to Michael Bay’s Armageddon...?
With Independence Day, director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin managed to single-handedly resuscitate the disaster movie - a genre that had wheezed to a halt following an increasingly daft sequence of examples in the late 70s and early 80s (for a stunning night in, check out the low-rent majesty of Meteor, The Swarm or When Time Ran Out). Sure, Independence Day was an alien invasion movie straight out of the 50s, but its scenes of global panic and destruction were pure Irwin Allen. A certified hit in 1996, Independence Day sparked a wave of incendiary movies in the same vein, with scenarios varying from exploding volcanoes (Dante’s Peak and, well, Volcano), a giant monster (Godzilla) and duelling asteroid movies Deep Impact and Armageddon.

Oh, that darn Internet of Things! One of these days all of our internet-connected devices may conspire against us and in a smarter picture with a more biting commentary, we might just get some real perspective on how disruptive playing God might be, as our overlords control our every move for the sake of our connivence, weaponizing data and our daily routines. I bring this up because Geostorm is, at its heart, a conspiracy thriller wrapped in a disaster movie (after all, that makes for a better trailer) with slick professional visual effects, even if Orlando and Washington, D.C. don’t look like Orlando and Washington D.C., because those places don’t have great tax incentives for movie productions. It’s ironic, of course, for a film that shows us oceans suddenly freezing on a sunny day in Rio de Janeiro, tidal waves drowning Dubai, and a heatwave...

As Colbert pointed out, Trump recently complained on Twitter about the barrage of jokes at his expense on late-night TV, even wondering, "Should we get equal time?" While Colbert deadpanned an answer – "No" – he nevertheless brought out Stewart to balance his own anti-Trump material. However, the former Daily Show host inevitably struggled with to say anything more laudatory than, "Donald Trump is not a cannibal.

Hetty's in Vietnam, but NCIS: Los Angeles is clearly planning to draw out that storyline as, save for a couple of scenes, "Se Murio El Payaso" focuses on the case the team is working on back in Los Angeles. But hopefully that doesn't continue to be the case because, to be honest, I'm more intrigued by what's going on with Hetty than anything else on the show right now. Could that be because we're getting so little of it, especially compared to how much time is spent on things like the case of the week in this episode?
That investigation does bring Secret Service Special Agent Nicole DeChamps back, and a conversation she has with Sam suggests that we'll probably see her again (and perhaps even for multiple episodes) or at least should get some follow up.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for the “Rick and Morty” Season 3 finale, Episode 10, “The Rickchurian Mortydate.”]
When the logline for “The Rickchurian Mortydate,” the Season 3 finale of “Rick and Morty,” was released, there was plenty of speculation that what the president referenced in the episode description would be Evil Morty, the mastermind revealed at the end of “The Ricklantis Mixup.” A more mythology-obsessed show might have gone that route, building on the success of the season’s standout episode and threading together the C-137 timeline with the consequences of Rick and Morty’s actions in the broader multiverse.
That “Rick and Morty” instead said farewell to Season 3 with an unexpectedly self-contained musing on the nature of obligation and family doesn’t make the show any less ambitious. But it does indicate a show segueing briskly into its offseason, wrapping up some thematic loose ends in a way that didn’t outdo its Season 3 predecessors, but still gave viewers plenty to latch onto, visually and philosophically.

Those of you who read TVLine’s review of NBC’s Will & Grace revival, which premiered Thursday, already knew that we went into it expecting the equivalent of what Karen would call a “Laura Bush pour” of a martini, only to instead be served “the full-on Pat Nixon.” Now, finally, you’ve seen why we were so high on the show.
Right off the bat, “Eleven Years Later” dispatched the sitcom’s 2006 ending, awakening Karen from a dream to find that Will was single again; Grace,...

Sending your kids off to school isn't easy, even when you're the former president of the United States.
Barack Obama talked about dropping his oldest daughter, Malia, off at Harvard during a speech at an event for the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children in Delaware on Monday.
"For those of us who have daughters, it just happens fast," the 44th president said in a video published by Wdel 101.7Fm. "I dropped off Malia at college, and I was saying to Joe and Jill [Biden] that it was a little bit like open-heart surgery."
Obama said he kept it together on campus, but heading home, he admitted the tears started to flow.
"I was proud that I did not cry in front of her," he said, "but on the way back, the Secret Service was looking straight ahead, pretending they weren't hearing me as I sniffled and blew my nose. It was rough...

Former President Barack Obama was among the millions of parents who sent their kids off to college this fall — and like many, he shed some tears.
The 44th commander-in-chief recently revealed he was overcome with emotions when he and wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama moved their 19-year-old Malia into her campus residence at Harvard University in August.
“For those of us who have daughters, it just happens fast. I dropped off Malia at college, and I was saying to Joe and Jill that it was a little bit like open-heart surgery,” Obama, 56, said at the Beau Biden Foundation‘s...

To most of the world, Barack Obama is an important leader, a force for good, and a generous philanthropist. But to Malia Obama? He's just Dad. The former president took the stage at an event for the Beau Biden Foundation on Monday night, where he couldn't help but get emotional while discussing the moment he dropped his eldest daughter off at college. Malia, who turned 19 this Summer, just kicked off freshman year at Harvard following the gap year she elected to take following her high school graduation. "For those of us who have daughters, it just happens fast. I dropped off Malia at college, and I was saying to Joe and Jill [Biden] that it was a little bit like open-heart surgery. I was proud that I did not cry in front of her," the 56-year-old and adorable father joked with the crowd. "But on the way back, the Secret Service was off,...

MaryAnn’s quick take… Save us from male artists who think they are dangerously, uniquely innovative. This stew of toxic masculinity and CGI-cartoon violence is nothing but tediously mundane. I’m “biast” (pro): love the cast, mostly
I’m “biast” (con): hated the first film

Here’s a phrase I do not recall from Kingsman: The Secret Service: “independent intelligence agency.” This is uttered in Kingsman: The Golden Circle in connection with the American counterpart to Kingsman: Statesman, to which we are introduced here. But what does that mean, precisely? It means they’re mercenary spies, doesn’t it? I have a vague recollection of Secret Service mentioning something about Kingsman being funded by the crown heads of Europe, which at least offers a veneer of governmental authority and fealty to law and order — though of course there...

2017-09-25T06:42:47-07:00'Kingsman' Wins the Weekend
Action sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle turned in a slightly disappointing performance at the box office this weekend, but it still managed to be the week's top movie. Stephen King's It gave up the top spot after two weeks at number one, but the horror hit outperformed The Lego Ninjago Movie, which had an extremely weak opening weekend.
Via The Hollywood Reporter.
It was a mixed bag at the box office over the weekend.
Director Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Golden Circle easily won the race in North America, grossing $39 million from 4,003 theaters. That was somewhat behind expectations, although the sequel still scored one of the best openings for the month of September, as well as came in ahead of the first Kingsman: The Secret Service ($36.2 million). Heading into the frame, however, tracking had suggested the cheeky spy action-comedy would clear $40 million.

20th Century Fox’s “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” took the No. 1 spot at the box office from “It” this weekend with an estimated $39 million opening from 4,003 locations. It’s a solid opening that’s slightly above the $36.2 million opening made by the spy sequel’s predecessor, “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” and just a step below pre-weekend projections of $40 million. “The Golden Circle” had a much more mixed critical reception than “Secret Service” did, earning 51 percent on Rotten Tomatoes compared to its predecessor’s 74 percent. But audiences were kinder to the film, giving it a B+ on CinemaScore. Overseas,...

Donald Trump Jr. is electing to no longer receive Secret Service protection for the sake of his personal privacy, according to the New York Times.
A senior administration official told the Times that the New York-based Donald Jr. ceased receiving protection as of last week, though it remained unclear whether his wife and five children also gave up their details. As for the 39-year-old Donald Jr. — who is tangled in the various federal investigations into the Trump team’s dealings with Russia — the Times explains that the president’s eldest son is “an avid camper and hunter was said to...

During his 2016 campaign, Donald Trump vehemently denied allegations of sexual misconduct from more than a dozen women, including People writer Natasha Stoynoff. But in November 2015, he bragged on live television about planting a “big kiss” on unsuspecting NBC reporter Katy Tur.
Four months earlier, Tur, who covered Trump on the campaign trail, had landed a coveted one-on-one television interview with the then Republican hopeful. Immediately after the sit-down, Trump lashed out at her, accusing her of plotting “deceptive editing” and growling: “You’ll never be president!”

The following information is only a rumor for the time being since we have no confirmation but if you’re interested in learning how Bond’s next adventure begins, by all means… keep on reading.

As is the case with the wait that accompanies any entry into the enduring James Bond film franchise, rumors are expected to swirl before Eon Entertainment holds one of their official press conferences that are surrounded by much pageantry. And with 007’s next big screen outing not arriving until November 2019, it could be well over a year before we once again witness such a thing.
Recently, word on the street has consisted of things such as Beyonce being the next big name to lend their pipes to the series’ proud tradition of memorable opening titles themes and, quite frankly, that actually sounds believable. After all, one could argue that the some of the best theme songs of the past have all been recorded by female vocalists.
When it comes to plot, however, that’s where things get a little more iffy. Not long ago, Raymond Benson himself debunked rumors that...
