HollywoodNews.com: New England Patriots Tom Brady owes a lot of his success to Tom Martinez, the 68-yearold Quarterback coach from California who had mentored No. 12 since he was a boy. So it was no surprise that the star pupil had been trying to help his teacher, who was in failing health, and needed a kidney transplant by asking people through the Internet to go to MatchingDonors.com to be tested to see if they are a potential compatible kidney donor to Tom Martinez. Within a few weeks, over 600 people came forward on MatchingDonors.com to see if they could be a match for Tom Martinez. Many were tested, and a lifesaving kidney transplant was going to potentially happen in a few weeks, but unexpectedly a few days before he could get his transplant, on his birthday, Tom Martinez died of a massive heart attack.

“Scream when captured / Arch your back / Let this whole town hear your knuckles crack,” sings Mountain Goats’ frontman John Darnielle on “Damn These Vampires,” the opening track of All Eternals Deck. But the song—as well as the rest of the album—runs counter to such rawness. All Eternals Deck is one of the smoothest, most delicate iterations of Darnielle’s thorny storytelling to date, though the infamously word-wise, lo-fi pioneer hasn’t exactly buttoned down since signing to Merge Records last year. With Superchunk’s Jon Wurster still on drums and longtime bassist Peter Hughes cementing Darnielle’s tattered ...

With that name, I would think probably not. But I'm not 14, so what do I know? But late last night came the news that Disney Channel has ordered an original movie based on the novel Lemonade Mouth, which centers on five high schoolers who form a band "using unusual instruments" after meeting in detention. (It sounds a little like School of Rock-meets-Stomp-meets-The Breakfast Club to me, which is kind of perfect, since the author, Mark Peter Hughes, shares a surname with Breakfast's director.) I'm going to take issue with the fact that a ukulele is believed to be...

With Troy and Gabrielle having been replaced by Edward and Bella in the hearts (and wallets) of gazillions of tween/teen girls, Disney has pounced on what it hopes will be its next 'High School Musical.'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the next coming will be an original made-for-tv movie based on Mark Peter Hughes' cult fave, 'Lemonade Mouth.'
The novel, about 5 outcast "freaks" at a New England high school whose chance meeting in detention leads to them form what becomes "Rhode Island's most influential band," has been adapted by April Blair ('Christmas Caper') and will be produced by Debra Martin Chase ('The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,' 'The Cheetah Girls').

Disney Channel is readying a new high school musical.
The network has ordered an original movie based on the novel "Lemonade Mouth," the story of five Rhode Island freshmen who meet in detention and decide to form a garage band using unusual instruments, including a ukulele.
Emmy-nominated producer Debra Martin Chase will lead the project, having also produced the network's musical movie franchise "The Cheetah Girls" in addition to films "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "The Princess Diaries."
The script is from April Blair, based on the novel by Mark Peter Hughes. The project's title (and the band's name) comes from a student-led protest in the book to save the school's organic lemonade machine.
Although Disney Channel's movie-musical franchise has dropped from the frenzied peak of 2007's "High School Musical 2" -- the most-watched cable telecast of all time with 18.6 million viewers -- the network's movie musicals continue to generate blockbuster numbers.

John Darnielle doesn't seem like the type of guy you'd want to chill out with on a Sunday with the paper and a pot of coffee. His band The Mountain Goats have proved themselves over twenty years, delivering some of the most cutting, brilliant and terrifying lyrics since Morissey picked up his inky quill and penned Still Ill. Darnielle's life has been up on show throughout those years in painstaking detail; abusive step fathers, speed addiction and so many ex girlfriends... I fell in love with The Mountain Goats in the only way possible. I guess I mean like... the way to discover Hendrix was at Monterrey or the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show or The Sex Pistols at that little free trade hall in Manchester or even discovering Nick Drake at midnight being guided by John Peel's voice. Sometimes a moment fits a band like a glove...
