Edward Herrmann’s estate in Salisbury, Connecticut, is officially for sale. Herrmann, who died in 2014, moved to Salisbury, Connecticut, in 1996, four years before he landed his role as Richard Gilmore in Gilmore Girls. While he filmed all seven seasons of the series in California, he always returned to Salisbury during the show’s hiatus. He retreated to the small town after its cancelation in 2007. According to property records, the home is still owned by Herrmann’s widow, Star Herrmann. It’s unclear if she’s been living in the house since her husband’s death in 2014.

Veteran television actor Edward Herrmann has died, aged 71.
Herrmann passed away in a New York hospital today (December 31) following a battle with brain cancer, reports TMZ.
He is survived by his second wife Star Hayner and three children.
Herrmann famously played affable socialite Richard Gilmore in Gilmore Girls from 2000 to 2007, and also had memorable roles in the films The Lost Boys and The Purple Rose of Cairo.
The actor earlier earned a pair of Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his portrayal of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in two television films in the 1970s.
He won a coveted Emmy Award in 1999 for a guest role in The Practice.
Herrmann served as a narrator for PBS science series Nova as well.
