Welcome to this week’s Nxt UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have…Jake Roberts says that Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were just fighting over Sunny the whole time, but how would a crack-head know anything besides where to get the good s—? It’s funny to listen to these old bastards pick on the more successful guys and critique how they didn’t “draw money”, when there are so many factors in place that prevent even the biggest stars from actually drawing money. Nxt UK has a few stars in it, but doesn’t seem to be doing well enough as a brand all its own. Is it the wrestlers’ fault that Nxt UK isn’t raking in millions a week? I’d argue that no name could ever turn this into a league all its own, because this is just a...

Two on a Guillotine
Blu ray
Warner Archives
1965/ 2:35:1 / 107 min.
Starring Connie Stevens, Dean Jones
Cinematography by Sam Leavitt
Directed by William Conrad
Imagine shock-meister William Castle directing a Disney movie and the result might be something like Two on a Guillotine. William Conrad, narrator of Rocky and Bullwinkle and star of television’s Cannon, is at the wheel of this thrill ride and he’s happy to rehash a few of Castle’s favorite scare tactics for his own purposes – the moans and groans of a carnival spook house and even a wire-drawn skeleton. There’s no denying Conrad’s effort has some of the Saturday matinee charm of creep shows like House on Haunted Hill but the sunny locales and aggressively perky demeanor of co-stars Connie Stevens and Dean Jones make you wish Frederick Loren would drop by with a well-aimed champagne cork.
Stevens is Cassie Duquesne,...

In 1965 at age 40, Cheverlot boss John DeLorean became the youngest division head in General Motors history. He was an automotive engineer who created cars like the Pontiac Gto, but DeLorean had the looks and lifestyle of a movie star.
“John was a legendary automotive designer who had great success at Gm,” Alec Baldwin, who plays DeLorean in the new film Framing John DeLorean, tells People in this week’s issue. “John made his name in the business, and that business was like a movie. You release something and if it’s a hit, you’re the king for the time being.

Below is our transcript from last night's liveblog. Relive the White Diamonds of train wrecks!
*Note - Feel free to participate in the Liz & Dick drinking game. Every time I use the word "Howler," ... down a shot!
We start with "Based On A True Story." Hmm ... wasn't The Texas Chainsaw Massacre also "Based On a True Story?" I have a feeling this is going to be even more brutal
Speaking of Leatherface, we get our first glimpse of Lindsay Lohan as "Elizabeth Taylor," as she sits by a pool, as the voice of "Richard Burton," (played by True Blood's Cooter) speaks on the soundtrack about the first time he met her. Cooter looks nothing like Richard Burton, but the makeup people have done a stunning job of making him look like ... a bad botox victim.
So this flashback leads to ... another flashback ... of the last day of Richard Burton's life,...

I admit it. I am a Troy Donahue fan. There I said it. Not surprising since I love and have been writing about Sixties starlets for over ten years. If there ever was a male version of a starlet, it was Troy. I purchased the DVD box set Warner Bros. Romance Classics Collection featuring four of his early Sixties movies and recently viewed My Blood Runs Cold (1964) from Warner Bros Archive as a DVD-on-Demand. The pairing of Troy Donahue as a loon and Joey Heatherton as the blonde he desires in this suspense film didn’t burn up the silver screens across the country and left most critics cold, but the coupling of America’s favorite bland blonde boy with the Ann-Margret wannabe made for bad cinema you just got to love.

Capri in the acclaimed 1972 film Payday
Sad to report that Ahna Capri was killed in a car accident over the weekend in La. She began as a child actress in the 50s and morphed into a sexy 60s starlet who resembled a cross between Sandra Dee and Joey Heatherton. Using the name Anna Capri, she appeared in such films as Kisses for My President and The Girls on the Beach (co-star Gail Gerber remembers Anna as "such a lovely girl. I remember when first meeting her I couldn't believe how beautiful she was.") She popped up all over TV in such series as The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, The Invaders, Run for Your Life, and It Takes a Thief. In the 70s, a la Mariana Hill, she changed her name also to Ahna Capri (she remarked, "Too many people pronounce 'Anna' with a flat 'a' and it comes out as ugly 'Aaana.

The guillotine was a device developed during the French Revolution and was used in carrying out thousands of executions. It consisted of an upright frame from which a sharp blade is suspended. The blade is raised with a rope and then allowed to drop, quickly severing the victim’s head from their body. In 1964, the Aurora plastics company, famous for their series of best-selling monster model kits, produced a 1/12th scale model of an actual working guillotine complete with a little victim whose head could be lopped off with the flick of a switch. Though tame compared with some items in popular culture today, parents groups at the time complained that it was warping the young minds of future baby boomers but the toy was cool and proved to be a hit. Warner Brothers studios jumped on the brief ‘Guillotine Craze’ bandwagon the next year with the juvenile horror film Two On A Guillotine,...
