- An intern of the "Howard Stern Show"
- Became a prominent target of Howard Stern's jokes because of his extremely thick Brooklyn accent, in which he'd often mispronounce words. He usually couldn't finish a sentence without the show's sound effects man Fred Norris imitating him. For one example, his P's would come out as B's: at least according to Fred's (and sometime's Howard's) imitations.
- On the air while discussing and critiquing Aliens 4, which he had seen a special sneak preview screening of the night before, he disclosed an extremely important spoiler of the film, which angered Howard, many viewers, and (according to one angry caller) even the studio. And this was even before the word "spoilers" became popular.
- Was in a commercial where he played a bowling ball on roller skates that knocked over giant bowling pins.
- Having always told Howard and Robin that he liked to go out to movie screenings in order to "network," Howard was furious when Steve shared that he had introduced himself and his actress girlfriend (who had a cameo in Howard's movie Private Parts) to Paramount Studios Chief, Sherry Lansing.
- Could be argumentative on the Howard Stern show, which fit nicely in a cameo on The Sorpranos where he argues with a young cast member in a pizza joint.
