Bebop! Rocksteady! Casey Jones! Following a rather lackluster first effort to the Michael Bay produced live action revival of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise the directing reins for the sequel have been handed to Dave Green - a great favorite around these parts back to his earliest short and music video work - and while the design path of the franchise has already been set by the earlier film he looks to be taking it back to core values. And by core values here, I mean the value intrinsic in having grown up in the late eighties and early nineties and rushing home to watch the first cartoon incarnation on TV after school. No Krang in this one but there are favorite characters Bebop and...

When held up to the heady heights of its BAFTA-winning spiritual predecessor Twenty Twelve, the first series of W1A fell short on occasions.
But with a new series opener in which a high-level management power struggle starts simmering alongside the usual japes, hi-jinks and gaffes at Broadcasting House, the BBC's self-flagellating satire is at last hitting its stride.
Hugh Bonneville's still the star of the show as Ian Fletcher, keeping a sharp focus on charter renewal as his contemporaries in the Way Ahead Task Force fall over themselves (almost literally at one point) to get one over on their professional rivals. Lord of the Rings author was researching the story of the curse of a Roman ring for two years before starting Bilbo Baggins tale
In what was once the housekeeper's office of a Tudor mansion in Hampshire, a very odd golden ring glitters on a revolving stand in a tall perspex column. In chapter five of The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins finds a ring in the gloom of Gollum's cave. Not just any ring. "One very beautiful thing, very beautiful, very wonderful. He had a ring, a golden ring, a precious ring."
A new exhibition opening today at The Vyne, now owned by the National Trust, raises the intriguing possibility that the Roman ring in the case, and the ring of power in Jrr Tolkien's book The Hobbit, and in his Lord of the Rings trilogy, are one and the same.

You may not know director Dave Green's name, but chances are good you've seen.and been stunned.by his work. A helmer of music videos and commercials, Green has helped create that deeply weird "New Romance" video, that combined Saved By The Bell with Final Destination, and this freaky but funny Liquid Flow ad that boasts the insane powers of waterproof pockets. But it was his Hollywood-skewering web shorts.that also feature Miles Fisher.which drew the notice of studios. In Pinkberry: The Movie and its follow-up Staff Meeting: The Movie Fisher played a trend-obsessed, high-powered exec ever in search of the next big thing. Offering a blistering parody of movie project development and a host of cameos including Charlize Theron, Shawn Levy and Max Landis, these vids made the rounds in Hollywood and drew Green some major buzz. With his wacky and irreverent sense of humor it's no...

That’s the most descriptive pair of words being lobbed around for a new, untitled project over at Disney, which Variety says will be directed by debut helmer Dave Green. Andrew Panay is producing the project, which is expected to go before cameras this fall with a lower budget than some of their more prolific efforts; after tonight’s news, I’d argue that’s for the best.
Green, though still something of a lightweight, directed a few hit online videos in the past, such as Pinkberry: The Movie and, most recently, Staff Meeting Video: The Movie — which, nevertheless, still makes this the largest effort of his young career. Despite the fact that a couple of short, comedic pieces steeped in L.A. culture probably didn’t get him this job, there’s some basic skill on display in those videos. After the success of Pinkberry: The Movie, the spoof film that was generated internally by Wme staff for a quarterly meeting, the agency lit department has unveiled a sequel: Staff Meeting: The Movie. The new spoof made its debut at the all company meeting last Friday, and somebody put it on YouTube, which is where I found it. While Pinkberry mainly took swipes at actual Wme agents, this film spreads the pain to other agencies as well. Back as the Ari-esque agency head is Miles Fisher, who has a pretty good film career going as a result of the fact everybody in Hollywood saw Pinkberry. The new movie was directed by Dave Green, scripted by Henry Gayden, with Charlize Theron, Shawn Levy and Max Landis joining in the mischief as well as a host of agents including Adam Venit, Phil Raskind, Danny Greenberg and Rick Rosen. I particularly love the...

If you happen to see "Final Destination 5" this weekend, try to keep your eyes open long enough to check out Miles Fisher, a singer, actor and viral video hit-maker extraordinaire, who stars in the gory summer flick.

You wouldn’t know it from looking at him playing a ripoff of Zack Morris, but Miles Fisher is maximum gorgeousity, unparalleled. Suffice it to say, he’s got everything going for him, considering he’s an actor with an increasingly progressive resume and he has the time to write music and accompany the songs with awesome YouTube videos because that’s how we live now. We know what Miles Fisher does in his time off. #2011 Anyway, so he wrote a song called “New Romance,” and its video — directed by Dave Green (and featuring ubiquitous goofball David Koechner) — is …how do you say… radical? Gnarly? Totally tubular, dude? See where we’re going with this? It’s a bloody, gory, acerbic spoof of Saved By The Bell, and aside from the gratuitous blood, it’s pretty dead-on in its satire of that tasty slice of the early nineties. Believe us,...

Miles Fisher, star of various online shorts (including "Pinkberry: The Movie"), scored the leading role in Warner Bros. and New Line's forthcoming Final Destination 5, arriving in theaters August 12. Even with his big screen debut just weeks away, Fisher is continuing with his love for parodies delivering "New Romance," a Final Destination 5 viral video that spoofs the classic '80s kids show "Saved By the Bell". The short was comes from American Psycho producer Jake Avnet and director Dave Green. Make sure you stick with it because the deaths begin about halfway through... In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one mans premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape.

Deadline has written about the humorous short-film exploits of Miles Fisher, who played the superagent in the spoof Pinkberry: The Movie, and starred in other shorts that included an American Psycho musical parody. All this came before Fisher got his first big movie lead in Final Destination 5, and a supporting role in J. Edgar. Just because he's gone legit doesn't mean Fisher has left parodies in his past. In fact, after he went to Warner Bros with an idea for a short that could help spread awareness of its upcoming Final Destination, the studio gave him the money to make the film. Fisher put together his American Psycho producer Jake Avnet and director Dave Green and they've made New Romance. It's a short that manages to keep the body count high, and it looks to me like some horrifying homage to Saved By the Bell. Check it out:...

The town got its first taste of Miles Fisher when he played an Ari-esque talent agent in the short film spoof Pinkberry: The Movie. Now, Fisher has gotten a real movie job. Fisher is the first actor cast in Final Destination 5, the Steven Quale-directed horror film that is casting up at New Line Cinema. These are the pics where a group of characters narrowly escape death in a gruesome catastrophe, and then most of them get bumped off one by one in grisly fashion. The film is slated for release August 26, 2011 and will be 3D like the last one. Fisher was drafted by director Dave Green to play the agent in the Pinkberry spoof which was shot for an in-house presentation by Wme's lit department.
