- Declined induction into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, citing racism and exploitation by team management.
- Attended Breckinridge (Pa.) Har-Breck High School, but did not graduate as he signed a professional football contract in Canada instead.
- Was a member of the Buffalo Bills 1964 AFL Championship team.
