Adam Sandler has taken to social media to express his condolences following the loss of Alec Musser.
Musser appeared in the 2010 film Grown Ups, which Sandler co-wrote with Fred Wold and produced alongside Jack Giarraputo.
“I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of him and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person,” Sandler wrote on Instagram with a still of Musser in the film.
Musser played the role credited as Water Park Stud in one of the memorable scenes from the film, which included Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and Joyce Van Patten. As the guys take the kids to a water slide, the ladies stay back to enjoy some downtime. They soon see a buff man looking their way and starts walking towards them.

“’You are one of the few designers that can open a movie,’” costumer Mona May recalls Happy Madison co-founder Jack Giarraputo once telling her. Perhaps no appraisal can sum up the fashion-design-trained May’s auteur-like contribution to cinema as succinctly.
Her bold colors, unapologetically soft silhouettes and feathery boas — signature touches that at once highlight comedy, beauty and authenticity — helped define a genre of film. From “Never Been Kissed” to “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” “Enchanted” (for which she was nominated for a Costume Designers Guild Award) to “The House Bunny” to Amy Heckerling’s seminal Jane Austen spinoff “Clueless” (now celebrating its 25th anniversary), young women in search of their identity are the backbone of a number of May-costumed movies. The designer says those films feature stories of women “learning something very feminine about feeling good in [their] skin,” adding, “This is my life message: being free, in love,...

In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. Kevin James is about to get his game on in the upcoming "Pixels." The comedy star is in talks to appear opposite "Frozen" co-star Josh Gad in the Sony comedy from director Chris Columbus ("Home Alone," the first two "Harry Potter" films), according to Deadline. "Pixels" finds Earth under attack by videogame-obsessed aliens, who stage giant-sized re-enactments of ’80s games. In a twist that recalls an episode of "Futurama," it's up to four human gamers to save the world. It's based on a 2010 French animated short film written and directed by Patrick Jean, which featured iconography from such arcade classics as "Space Invaders," "Pac-Man," "Donkey Kong," and more. Frequent James collaborator Adam Sandler will produce along with his Happy Madison partner Jack Giarraputo. Tim Herlihy and Tim Dowling wrote the script. Sony Pictures and Happy Madison are developing a feature film adaptation of the French short film "Bad Toys II" says Heat Vision.
A combination of computer animation, comic book panels and live-action, the short involves a destructive car chase on a level akin to the outrageousness of a Michael Bay "Bad Boys" movie.
The difference? The cars are toys. The short resembled nothing if not a highly elaborate pre-vis version of an actual Bay-style chase sequence.
The feature version centers on a grown man reconnecting with his youthful imagination through his son's toys, and his play turns into an homage to big-budget action films.
Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo will produce. Below is a copy of the original short:...

Sony Pictures has jumped aboard the Hasbro bandwagon that Universal jumped off of. Sony is developing the animated film Tonka, based on the 65-year-old kiddie car brand. The studio announced the arrangement in a press release, with Sony Pictures Animation and Happy Madison Productions producing the movie with Hasbro. Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo’s Happy Madison is also producing a movie version of Hasbro’s Candy Land for Sony, and the studio is separately developing Hasbro’s Risk. Conspicuously absent from the press release is Hasbro’s most recent credit, Battleship, the Universal Pictures summer tentpole wannabe that bore little resemblance to the board game and sank loudly at the box office. Universal has put the majority of Hasbro properties into turnaround — including the priority project Stretch Armstrong as well as Clue; Monopoly; and Magic, The Gathering – a disappointing result for a strategic alliance between the studio and the...
