9Ine, Pic.tv's multi-Telly award winning web series, is groundbreaking, educational, and noteworthy. A teen drama produced by One Economy that chronicles nine months in the life of soon-to-be teen parents. Geared towards teens, parents, educators and advocates – 9Ine is being used to foster discussion and better choices among young people regarding teen pregnancy and their future. Though there are a number of reality shows that cover teen pregnancy, 9Ine as one of the few shows that actually highlights the perspective of teen fathers. With engaging performances from a solid and experienced cast, each episode of 9Ine ends with a real-life story of a teenager dealing with pregnancy and/or parenting.
9Ine is written, produced directed by Allen Sowelle, who has many years of editing, producing, directing and writing for television and film. It stars: Liz Vassey (CSI and Two and A Half Men); Brian J. White (Men of a Certain Age and The Shield); Jonathan ‘Lil J’ McDaniel (Cougar Town and Entourage); and Chasiti Hampton (Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper).
9Ine is also available on DVD with a comprehensive teen pregnancy discussion guide that breaks down the issues posited in each episode. Developed by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy specifically for the 9Ine series, this DVD is currently being used across the country in schools and homes, to help broaden the discussion around teen male/father’s responsibility in regards to pregnancy and parenting.

Why Watch? Because sometimes raw action rules the day. The plot to this short is straight out of the action playbook, and everything can be seen coming from a mile away, but that doesn’t matter. The acting is all through the teeth, the camera work is truly strong, the score holds the intensity, and the action sequences land their punches. And, at 5 minutes, it’s considerably better than Terminator: Salvation – even though that’s not that difficult an achievement. What Will It Cost? Just 5 minutes of your time. Does it get better any better than that? Check out Initiative #435 for yourself: Initiative #435 (2010) Written and Directed by: Shawn Costa Starring: Josh Feinman and Chad Mathews Trust us. You have time for more short films.
