Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has been a part of many franchises. The actor played the role of Hannibal Lecter in NBC’s Hannibal, featured in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as Galen Erso, and took over from Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. He even recently joined the Indiana Jones franchise as Dr Jürgen Voller.
However, one of his most memorable roles has been his appearance as Kaecillius in Doctor Strange. The actor played the antagonist in the film which starred Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular. Mikkelsen was reportedly convinced by filmmaker Scott Derrickson to join the film without even reading the script with three magical words.

Shooting has wrapped on Venom: The Last Dance and with a little over five months before it arrives in theaters, we're hoping an official first look is somewhere on the horizon.
Sony Pictures could do with a win after delivering flops like Morbius and Madame Web, but only time will tell whether the Venom threequel can give them one. After all, most fans aren't expecting much from Kraven the Hunter, a movie recently pushed back to December 13.
Now, a first look at the stunt team's crew gift has been revealed and it may reveal Venom: The Last Dance's big bad.
As you can see in the X post below, green is being used for the "3" in the movie's logo, while three green slashes can also be seen across the Symbiote's unmistakable face.
Looking at the comics, we have to believe this is meant as a reference to Lasher.

Celebration of cinema has always been extended by the Oscars honoring the prowess of cinematic excellence with one of the most recognized accolades. Throughout the rich history of cinema, there have been several movies based on true events, that left a mark among moviegoers or in the pages of history.
A still from Lawrence of Arabia
Also, movies that are based on true events are another way of documenting the particular incident, albeit a portion of fictionalization may alter the accuracy, but for cinema’s sake, filmmakers enjoy the basic freedom to have their own touch to the narrative. Throughout history, movies like The Great Ziegfeld by Robert Z. Leonard, or it would be criminal not to mention David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia, and several other movies have claimed the Best Picture Oscars. Here is a list of six movies that won an Oscar in the Best Picture category.

Venom: The Last Dance's Official Logo Has Been Revealed As Merchandise Starts Finding Its Way Online
We've already seen a fake logo for Venom: The Last Dance, and plenty of fan-made efforts have continued to do the rounds ever since. Now, though, generic merchandise has surfaced on Amazon which finally reveals the real deal.
It's not overly exciting if we're being honest, but a logo is a logo and we'll be seeing a lot more of this in the coming months. Like the title itself, it doesn't give much away and we wouldn't necessarily assume the red is any sort of giveaway about who Venom is facing.
The fact this logo has surfaced now could be an indication that a trailer is somewhere on the horizon and we'd put money on it being ready to go with Bad Boys: Ride or Die in June.
Merchandise for the Venom franchise has typically been pretty rare outside of Funko Pops and the odd Hot Toys figure, so we...

One of last fall’s biggest flops was David Gordon Greene’s limp attempt to revive the “Exorcist” franchise for Blumhouse and Universal. “The Exorcist: Believer” was met with intense pans and a worldwide gross of $137 million. That number may not sound so bad at first until you remember that the rights to the franchise alone cost $400 million. While there have been several sequels (plus a double-prequel) to “The Exorcist” since the groundbreaking original that won Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Sound (plus seven other nominations including Best Picture), this was the first one to bring Ellen Burstyn back into the world of ancient evils and demonic possession.
Green’s departure from the series was announced in January, and current horror mainstay Mike Flanagan is looking like he will step in, as per a report in Deadline.

Disney on Monday released the first trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the music-filled film serves as both an origin story and follow-up to Jon Favreau’s 2019 photorealistic movie The Lion King. That film was based on the 1994 Disney animated classic of the same name.
Along with the trailer release, it was revealed that Blue Ivy Carter will make her film debut voicing Kiara, daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala, while her mother, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, will reprise her role as Nala from the 2019 film.
The new film, which hits theaters Dec. 20, will tell the backstory of Simba’s father, Mufasa, an orphan who grew up to be a wise, powerful and compassionate ruler.
The official logline is as follows: “Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick.

The upcoming film The Life of Chuck is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. Flanagan has let it be known that this isn’t horror, and cast member David Dastmalchian has said the same in a new interview with Gizmodo, describing the film and elements in it as beautiful and heartbreaking.
Dastmalchian, who was also in the recent King adaptation The Boogeyman, said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “It’s beautiful. You think, ‘Oh, Mike Flanagan, Stephen King, this thing’s going to just be the most horrifying, terrifying, thing you’ve ever seen.’ [But] it is so beautifully rendered, heartfelt, the drama, the performances. The cast in this is deep.

Hugh Grant has been expanding on his career beyond his famous rom-coms, having starred in last year’s special effects-laden big-budget films Wonka and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Grant will be returning to his popular franchise with Renée Zellweger for the recently announced upcoming fourth film in the Bridget Jones movies, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. The plot is said to “pick up with Bridget in her early fifties, as she navigates the challenges of modern life while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood.”
Grant recently spoke with the publication People as he teases the next installment in the series. The English actor stated,
It is very moving as well as funny. It’s partly based on Helen Fielding’s experiences of bringing up two children by herself after her husband died. And so Bridget is bringing up two kids and wondering whether she should ever go back to dating.

Sundance Film Festival is heading to London again this summer and the programme is full of cinematic goodies. More below.
The days are getting lighter, the sun is shining ever so slightly more now and we’ve packed away our thickest wool jumpers, although we still need some thick socks. That must mean one thing and one thing only.
Sundance Film Festival: London is almost upon us.
Some might say summer is coming too, but we’re mostly excited for Sundance London, which has just revealed their full programme for this year’s festival. The festival brings a fine selection of films which originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, in Park City, Utah. The crème de la crème, so to speak.

Slated for publication in December, the book tells the story of Mitt, a first-year surgical resident at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. Mitt has a long and dark family history: his physicians’ forebears are guilty of grievous sins, extreme instances of medical malpractice committed at the very hospital where he now studies. “Mufasa: The Lion King” is expected to focus on the early years of the eventual ruler of the animals, as well as his menacing younger brother Scar. The film will feature the voices of Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as the younger version of Mufasa (voiced by James Earl Jones in the 1994 film and 2019 remake) and Scar (voiced by Jeremy Irons in the 1994 version and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the 2019 remake).
The brief but majestic footage, which isn’t yet available to the public, explores the same stunningly realistic African savannah as its predecessor and begins with the iconic “Lion King” overture. A young Mufasa is seen leaping over rhinos and all kinds of...

Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson lead the returnees for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. More here.
The deals look like they’ve been done for the already-announced Bridget Jones 4, which we can now officially call Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.
As expected, Renee Zellweger is taking on the title role for the fourth time. She’s also going to be joined by Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson, who each return to the series. Grant’s return is a surprise, Thompson’s less so.
And then there are new additions: Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall have now been announced as joining the ensemble.
We also know who’s going to be directing as well: Michael Morris, who previously called the shots on To Leslie, is stepping behind the camera. It’s the first time one of the Bridget Jones movies has been directed by a male director.

While word on a fourth Bridget Jones has been floating around, today brings the official word that Renée Zellweger has found space in her diary to return as the title character for the fourth film to be drawn from Helen Fielding's stories. Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will see Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson back, with Chiwetel Ejiofor and One Day's Leo Woodall new to the ensemble.
Michael Morris is in the director's chair this time, with the story finding Bridget navigating motherhood and — spoiler alert! — having to look for love all over again following a tragic death. Yes, this is getting back to counting calories and drink intake while also figuring out nit checks and playdates.
Grant, of course, will be back as the roguish Daniel Cleaver, while Thompson will once more play Dr. Rawlings, who we must assume is still in Bridget's life after delivering her first child.

Kevin Feige still wants to make Avengers: Secret Wars the biggest phenomenon in the superhero genre, despite the numerous setbacks faced by the studio. While his Og Marvel characters have started failing him, Feige wants other new characters from Sony and 20th Century Fox to play major roles in upcoming films. Most notably, Feige is reportedly eyeing Tom Hardy’s Venom to play a key role in Avengers 6.

It’s a big year for Sony’s Spider-Man-adjacent comic book universe. The year started with Madame Web connecting them all – and this summer, we’ll see Aaron Taylor-Johnson make his debut as the title character of J.C. Chandor’s Kraven The Hunter. And beyond that, there’s a third film to come from the ‘Spumc’ (as it was once known) in 2024 – Tom Hardy’s third outing as Venom. Now, some fresh details have emerged about what’s in store.
The film has received the official title Venom: The Last Dance – a title that indicates a possible trilogy-capping final chapter. Or, perhaps, a Magic Mike-esque bout of male stripping. Perhaps even both. The film – both written and directed by Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote on Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage – also has a new release date, set to hit screens on 25 October. Sony has announced that Venom 3’s official title is Venom: The Last Dance, and has moved its US release date forward from November to October 2024.
The third and final film in Sony’s unholy trinity of Spider-Man adjacent releases for 2024, Venom 3 has now been given an official title – Venom: The Last Dance. Its US release date has also been moved forward a touch – from its original 8th November slot to 25th October. And that’s it. Bye!
Wait, you want more? Sigh.
As the new title implies, Venom: The Last Dance is billed as Tom Hardy’s final outing as the titular anti-hero, also known as Eddie Brock. British screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who wrote the previous two films – 2018’s Venom and 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage – will also direct as well as produce this time round, making it quite an auteur project.

Hardy returns as the Marvel antagonist that he originated in 2018’s Ruben Fleischer-directed Venom. Andy Serkis took over directing duties on the 2021 follow-up Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Marcel is making her feature directorial debut after earning writing credits on both earlier movies.

While Sony’s Spider-Verse movies Madame Web and Morbius both laid eggs at the box office (to put it mildly), another live-action franchise from the studio has been minting money – the Venom films. Despite pretty awful reviews, the first movie made $856 million worldwide. The sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, only made just over $500 million (still a lot of moolah), but that was due to opening during the pandemic (it was actually the third highest-grossing movie of the year). With the third film pretty much guaranteed to make money no matter how it fares with critics, Sony is moving it up slightly on the release calendar, with it now set for October 25th, 2024. The movie also has a new title, Venom: The Last Dance.
This pre-Halloween weekend propelled Five Nights at Freddy’s to a huge opening, and Sony is no doubt hoping to score with horror audiences as well as superhero fans.

Sony on Tuesday said its third movie in the Venom franchise now has a name and a new release date: It’s called Venom: The Last Dance, and it’s now opening October 25 this year, not November 8.
The threequel will screen in Imax and on PLFs.
Kelly Marcel directs Tom Hardy, who plays the black widow creature for a third time. Marcel also wrote the screenplay with a story she co-penned with Hardy. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel and Hardy are producing.
Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor also star.
Venom 3 moves away from 20th Century Studios’ The Amateur and lands on the same theatrical release date as Universal/Blumhouse’s The Wolfman and Cinedigm’s Terrifier 3.
All in, the previous two Venom movies have grossed $1.36 billion at the global box office.

Kelly Marcel will make her feature directorial debut with the project. She also wrote the screenplay from a story she developed with Hardy. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel and Hardy are producing.

How do you capture Jenne Casarotto? She was at the intersection of theatre, film and television. It all, seemingly, swirled around her.
Not just around her.
It was the brilliant team that she assembled at Casarotto Ramsay & Associates, the agency that’s been at the epicenter of UK arts culture for over three decades. Correction: The company’s reach extended far beyond the environs of London’s Soho.
One would see her in Venice, Cannes, Toronto and Sydney. One would not be at all surprised to be at a screening at, let’s say, Sundance, and there’d be a tap on the shoulder when the lights came up. “That was great stuff, wasn’t it?” She’d say gleefully.
It was a bit of a test because she’d expect you to be honest with her. Well, it was godawful, actually, and she’d nod sagely, her eyes twinkling behind her specs.

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock in a still from Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Venom first appeared in 1988 as an antagonist for Spider-Man. Since his debut in Amazing Spider-Man #298, he has become incredibly popular, leading to a blockbuster movie series with Tom Hardy portraying Venom.
In March 2016, Sony decided to make a new Venom movie. It was meant to be a standalone feature, not connected to the Spider-Man movies from Sony and Marvel Studios.
Rumors suggest that Hardy’s Venom 3 has ties to No Way Home, hinting at a connection to the Spider-Man franchise despite being a separate film series.
