In 2005, NFL Network sportscaster Rich Eisen and former Dever Broncos running back Terrell Davis were sitting in the stands of the RCA Dome in Indianapolis waiting for the NFL scouting combine to begin. In a fit of boredom, Eisen said out loud “I could run the 40-yard dash right now.” Davis scoffed at the idea, which only motivated Eisen to take up the challenge.
Dressed in a suit and tie, Eisen would take the field and run the dash, thinking nothing of it. Little did he know the cameras were rolling, and that night, his run would air on the NFL Network to thousands of viewers.
“[I was in] complete shock, but it was all in good fun,” recalls Eisen. “That’s the best part about doing a broadcast with a family. It’s just like any group of friends where you’re always ripe for being made fun of.”

Comedian Andrew Schulz revealed on the “Flagrant” interview series that he was instructed not to make jokes at Netflix’s Tom Brady roast related to Robert Kraft’s 2019 arrest for soliciting prostitution in a Florida massage parlor. Charges against Kraft were dropped the following year. When Kraft’s attendance was confirmed at the event, roasters were allegedly told not to make jokes about “happy endings” in relation to the Patriots owners.
“When Tom checked Jeff Ross, I think that was 100% real,” Schulz said. “The reason why I think it’s real is because they told us no jokes about happy endings with Bob Kraft. I had a Bob Kraft [joke] … Tom asked us not to do anything with the massage shit.”

One of the most viral moments to emerge out of Tom Brady’s Netflix roast was when the NFL icon got up from his seat and told off roaster Jeff Ross after the comedian made a massage joke about Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Brady was heard telling Ross: “Don’t say that shit again.” But according to Ross, Brady was not actually pissed off at him.
“Come on, come on, no way, no way,” Ross said on “The Rich Eisen Show,” downplaying that Brady got angry at him for the Kraft massage joke. “He was having fun. You know, it’s like that’s his dad. Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him, he was just showing his love for Robert Kraft. And Robert Kraft loved it. We had a great talk afterwards. He was so happy that I gave him a shoutout and a salute. It was beautiful.

Jerry Seinfeld crashed Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update segment, and Colin Jost introduced him as “a man who did too much press.”
The Seinfeld star has been on a press tour promoting his Netflix movie Unfrosted, which he directed and stars in.
Seinfeld came to the Update desk, not knowing where he was, asking if it was a podcast. Jost pointed out that the actor was even on The Rich Eisen Show, something Seinfeld had forgotten he had been on.
“I like Rich Eisen, I find him accessible,” the comedian said.
Jost asked Seinfeld how someone might know if they’re doing excessive press with the actor saying, “That’s the thing. You don’t know until someone who cares about you shows you a video package and you see yourself with these people with these names… Hoda, Maraca, Chanel, Vlad…”

Peter Goldberg, who had led the department since 2017, will stay with the company as a partner and senior agent. Goldberg joined UTA in its acquisition of N.S. Bienstock, the agency that helped create the market for news and journalism talent under the leadership of the late Richard Leibner.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating Henry Cavill taking on the role of MI6 agent James Bond. The iconic role left vacant since Daniel Craig’s departure after the 2021 film No Time to Die, has sparked speculation about Cavill’s potential involvement. Sophistication is a good word to describe James Bond, and Henry Cavill is the literal personification of the word. Therefore, it is not really a brainer that the actor would have been the ideal choice to bring Agent 007 to life after Daniel Craig’s run. However, as things are looking right now, the ship has long sailed and the decision-makers will probably be going with another actor in his prime to play James Bond.
Daniel Craig as James Bond in a still from Spectre
While it seems that the prospect of seeing Henry Cavill as James Bond will not escalate into anything more than a desire, a fan-made trailer has given fans an idea of what it would’ve been like. Henry Cavill can be seen alongside the very talented and drop-dead gorgeous Margot Robbie and the trailer is just further proof why the actor would’ve been perfect for playing the British secret agent.

Alan Ritchson fully embodied Jack Reacher while fronting the first season of Prime Video's "Reacher." But there are plenty of people behind the scenes who made the series the successful adaptation of Lee Child's book series that it was.
Producer Don Granger is one of those people. Child has spoken about how Granger, a longtime friend of the author, was the one that sealed the deal when it came to casting Ritchson, by almost immediately telling Child, "he's the guy." The producer had previously worked with both Child and Tom Cruise on the first film adaptation of the Jack Reacher novels, 2012's "Jack Reacher" and the 2016 follow-up, "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back." He'd also worked closely with Cruise since joining the actor and Paula Wagner's Cruise/Wagner Productions back in 2004, later taking his talents to Skydance Productions where he produced "Mission: Impossible — Fallout" and "Top Gun: Maverick," among other projects.

Novak Djokovic is a very good tennis player but he's also much more than that as his interest extends far beyond a tennis court.
Djokovic is not your typical guy. Besides being an incredible player, the Serbian is also one that never stops being curious. He's been called adjectives more than once for his pursuit of unconventional methods, some of which have been detailed in his book many years ago.

Djokovic is not your typical guy. Besides being an incredible player, the Serbian is also one that never stops being curious. He's been called adjectives more than once for his pursuit of unconventional methods, some of which have been detailed in his book many years ago.

For Oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons, the rivalry between Ohio State and University of Michigan football fans is an intense part of his life. A self-professed die-hard Buckeye who grew up in the Columbus suburbs and briefly attended Ohio State before transferring to the University of Montana, Simmons is ride-or-die when it comes to Ohio State football.
That might make him an unreliable narrator for a doc about the culture of the Ohio-Michigan rivalry, but that’s what the creative team behind Rivals: Ohio State vs. Michigan was hoping for. The Tc Studios documentary is an irreverent look at the history between the Buckeyes and Wolverines, delving into the psychology of such intense feuds and their effect on mass culture. Simmons spoke with THR about providing narration for the film and the intensity of his fellow college football fans.
Did you feel biased when you took this job?
Oh, a hundred percent.

Tom Brady recently retired from the NFL for a second time, having previously retired in early 2022 only to announce he was un-retiring 40 days later, ultimately playing two more seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now, rumours are circulating that Brady is contemplating ending his retirement once again, spurred on by some comments that NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen made during a recent episode of “The Rich Eisen Show”.
“Number one rumour I heard at the [NFL] Combine? Not in terms of chatter, but this one just blew my mind: Tom Brady may not be done after all,” Eisen said on his show.

"Let me tell you a little story about acting." These are words that Carl Weathers, playing a fictionalized version of himself, once spoke as a drama coach on the sitcom "Arrested Development." Yet they could also apply to Weathers and his acting career long before "Arrested Development," the Disney+ series "The Mandalorian," or even the sci-fi action movie "Predator."
When he auditioned for the role of Apollo Creed, the heavyweight boxing champion of the world, in the first "Rocky" film, Weathers was a virtual unknown in the acting world. He already had a pro football career behind him, having played as an NFL linebacker for the Oakland Raiders before he went back to school and earned a drama degree. However, his acting résumé was limited to television and "some movies out of Aip which was then doing quote-unquote 'Blacksploitation,'" as he once put it on The Rich Eisen Show.

“I didn’t realize that there was a 3:30 also in the morning — until today,” said Kwwl-tv sports reporter Mark Woodley doing a live remote in the middle of a blizzard for the channel’s morning show.
Woodley was drafted onto the weather team when the storm hit, and he was unusually candid with his feelings about the assignment.
“I normally do sports, but everything here is canceled [because of the weather],” said Woodley. “So what better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he would normally wake up and go stand out in the wind and the snow and the cold and tell other people not to do the same?”
Then, in one of his signoffs: “Tune in for the next couple hours to watch me progressively get crankier and crankier.”

CNN’s primetime plans won’t involve Jake Tapper.
The CNN veteran plans to return to his 4 p.m. program, “The Lead,” following the completion of a run at 9 p.m. after next week’s midterm elections, according to a network spokesman. The move raises complications for CNN CEO Chris Licht as he continues to seek a new programming strategy for a TV-news outlet that has been in flux for months.
CNN said it “will announce post-election plans” for 9 p.m. “in the coming days.”
By several accounts, Licht had settled on Tapper as the new anchor for CNN’s 9 p.m. hour, still one of the most-watched time slots in cable news. But the anchor has cautioned he was concerned about what the move might mean for his personal life and family, according to two people familiar with the matter. NFL Network‘s Rich Eisen knows he’s carrying on a great NFL Films legacy as narrator of NFL Icons. Under the leadership of filmmaker Steve Sabol and with the power of John Facenda‘s baritone voice, NFL Films documentaries enraptured generations of football fans. “When I get the scripts sent to me from NFL Films, I hear Steve Sabol’s voice in my head,” Eisen says. “I do hear Facenda’s voice in my head, because the scripts are written in the same way. The story that I’ve heard many times from folks who’ve worked at NFL Films is John Facenda, when he got a script and a line in a script that he liked, he said, ‘Now that’s a horse I can ride.’ The number of horses I’ve been able to ride because of NFL Icons, I’ve lost track.” Currently in its second season,...

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” will return for Season 12, Larry David confirmed on Sunday night.
David broke the news at an Emmys event at the DGA presented by HBO Max. The event included a screening of Season 11 episode “The Watermelon” as well as a live panel discussion hosted by Rich Eisen and featuring David, executive producer Jeff Schaffer, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. As Eisen wrote on Twitter, “So, I was honored to emcee an [Emmys] panel for ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ tonight here in LA with most of the cast and asked Larry David the ultimate question: Will there be another season of Curb? He said yes.”
No further details about Season 12 were announced.
The news is especially exciting because “Curb’s” return is never a sure thing. With 11 seasons spread out over 21 years, the series operates only when David feels inspired to write more of it.

Covering the Olympics is like taking a car out for a drive every two years. You’d like to think that the engine will start up every time, but if it’s a machine that lies dormant for too many months in between, there’s no guarantee.
It’s not as if NBC and its various broadcasting partners haven’t been trying to prime their viewers for Tokyo 2020, but up to and through this version of the Summer Games, there’s been a vagueness to what the Olympics actually stand for. Is it a branding bonanza — a Trojan Horse for the bevy of Official Partners to talk up their cars, cleaning wipes, and exercise bikes? Is it a celebration of the virtuous pursuit of athletics? Is it a global symposium — a giant, two-week metaphor for international diplomatic relations (even if it’s one where you’re asked every Opening Ceremonies...

Rich Eisen thought he was about to head off a long-planned vacation to Italy earlier this month, but he wound up being quarantined in a Boston hotel room for 10 days after testing positive for Covid-19.
Eisen, the longtime NFL Network analyst and host of Peacock’s daily “The Rich Eisen Show,” has been vaccinated since February. He was shocked to learn that his Covid test in preparation for his flight to Italy came back positive, only five days after his most recent negative test. Less than 48 hours after he noticed a tickle in the back of his throat that he chalked up to allergies, Eisen was suddenly under quarantine orders.
“You could have knocked me over with a feather” after learning of his positive test, Eisen told Variety. Along with his wife, sports reporter and podcast host Suzy Shuster, Eisen has tried to be “so careful” to protect their three young children.

Rising Covid infection rates are wreaking havoc with public events once again as multiple positive Covid tests on Thursday forced the New York Yankees to postpone the start of a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox.
Also Thursday, NFL Network analyst Rich Eisen disclosed via Instagram that he has contracted Covid despite having been vaccinated. He emphasized that his condition would be worse if he had not taken the two-dose Pfizer vaccination in February.
“Every health care professional I’ve come across in the last few days tell me the two shots of Pfizer I got in February are what’s keeping a 52-year-old like me from a far worse experience than the awful one I’m having,” Eisen wrote. “So, be careful if you’re vaccinated, and if you’re not vaccinated, don’t wait another second.”
