- Heavy-set American character actor, on screen usually in tough or authoritarian roles. Began in vaudeville during the early 1920s, appearing with Ed East in an act as the "Sisters of the Skillet". They later performed the routine on NBC and CBS radio. In 1937 and 1938, Dumke worked as a musician with the Charlie Davis Orchestra.
