Take a look at the landscape of popular network television and what do you see? A whole lotta supernatural, that’s what. If it’s not zombies being mowed down in The Walking Dead, or playfully reinvented in iZombie, there’s plenty of otherworldly characters tackling monsters in Supernatural, Penny Dreadful and Sleepy Hollow. Another supernatural subset are now making a return to the small screen in season 2 of Wgn America’s Salem.

Lucy Lawless and Stuart Townsend have joined the cast of the second season of Wgn America's witch drama "Salem".
Lawless will portray Countess Marburg, one of the last remaining survivors from the ancient line of German witches. Townsend will play Samuel Wainwright, an English doctor who is determined to uncover Salem’s secrets while keeping ones of his own.
Joe Doyle and Oliver Bell have both been upped to series regulars and will join returning cast mates Janet Montgomery, Shane West, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe, Tamzin Merchant, Elise Eberle and Iddo Goldberg.

The film chronicles the life of Jesus, played by Haaz Sleiman ("The Visitor"), at a time of intense political and social and conflict in the Roman Empire that ultimately led to his death. "Law & Order" veteran Walon Green is tapped to write and executive produce the project.
