Okay, Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy’s differences actually led to a lot of uncomfortable situations on the set of ‘Fury Road’ and, even though they both delivered great performances for the movie, director George Miller still doesn’t think there’s an excuse for it.
George Miller – Weighs In On the Famous Bad Blood Between Charlize Theron And Tom Hardy: “Two Very Different Performers”
For all those who have ever wondered what caused the famous rift between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, George Miller’s here with some answers.
During his recent interview with The Telegraph, the ‘Mad Max’ director decided to share some insight into what went down to cause the well-documented feud between ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. From his perspective, the whole thing was a “disruption” and “there’s no excuse for it.”
“They were just two very different performers,” Miller told The Telegraph.

With his “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel movie “Furiosa” gearing up for both its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and its theatrical release later this month, director George Miller recently spoke to The Telegraph and reflected on the notorious feud that broke out between stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron during the grueling “Fury Road” production. Miller said at the center of the feud was the simple fact that “they were just two very different performers.”
“Tom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer,” Miller said, more or less confirming reports that Hardy’s tardiness drew a wedge between him and his co-star. “Whereas Charlize was incredibly disciplined – a dancer by training, which told in the precision of her performance – and always the first one on set.

Next week, audiences will have a new thriller to savor when The Veil‘s first two episodes hit Hulu. The show looks to offer some more thrilling drama work from its highly decorated lead Elisabeth Moss, including a convincing British accent, some intense fighting sequences (at least one stunt caused Moss to fracture two of her vertebrae), and a chameleonic array of character faces. But is this new international spy series based on a true story? Here’s a look at what we know about the show so far. Is The Veil based on a true story? While some elements of the story are certainly plucked from real life — for example, Western worries about the potential for terrorist attacks and inter-agency disagreements — The Veil is an original story written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). So no, it is not based on a true story. The concept, however, came from executive producer Denise Di Novi,...

“Part of being a spy is being a shapeshifter,” Elisabeth Moss told us when she and executive producer Denise di Novi stopped by TV Insider’s interview suite at the Television Critics Association press tour to discuss their new spy thriller, The Veil, written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). Being able to slip into different identities is something Moss could relate to in her character, fearless British MI6 agent Imogen Salter. “She’s all these different people, and when she’s being that person, she’s not lying. She’s telling the truth. She’s an actor. I know exactly who this person is.” Salter is trying to stop a terrorist attack on a major American city and must get information from Adilah El Idrissi (Yumna Marwan), who could just be the world’s most dangerous woman. Their game of cat and mouse plays out from Istanbul to Paris to London.

Fun fact: “Emily in Paris,” which films all across the city of Paris and throughout France, was originally slated to film in New York. The idea was to shoot the majority of the Netflix series in the U.S. and head to France for a few weeks to film exteriors of iconic locations. Upon discovering showrunner Darren Starr’s plans, director and executive producer Andy Fleming exclaimed, “This is crazy, you have to shoot [in Paris].”
Referencing the charmingly worn doors in Parisian apartments that would be difficult to recreate in the States, Fleming talked about how he pushed for production to cross the ocean. “I thought, if the writers go over there, they will get in a taxicab going the wrong way around the Louvre, and they will be embarrassed in a restaurant and they will do all of the things that Emily would do, and [that] will inform the writing,” said Fleming.

A limited series about the Sandy Hook shooting and the ensuing eight-year legal battle between victims’ families and gun manufacturer Remington Arms has landed at Echo Lake Entertainment. Oscar nominee Robin Swicord (“When They See Us”) and Sarah Koskoff will create the show in consultation with several families directly affected by the tragedy and their attorneys.
Swicord, Koskoff and producer Mary Jane Skalski of Echo Lake Entertainment are teaming as executive producers to tell the story of the Sandy Hook case, which uncovered how a New York private equity firm purchased legacy American gun companies in the mid-2000s, effectively creating the equivalent of Big Pharma in the consumer arms industry. Swicord and Koskoff have followed the case closely and are consulting with several families who brought the lawsuit, as well as their attorney, Josh Koskoff (Sarah Koskoff’s brother).

In the wake of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Matt Reeves' "The Batman," we've all become accustomed to a serious and brooding take on the Dark Knight. But back in 1988, audiences generally still thought of Batman as Adam West's cartoonish, shark-fighting scamp. Once Warner Bros. gave Tim Burton free rein over the character in the late-'80s, however, things began to shift dramatically. Suddenly, the Caped Crusader was dark and brooding again and everyone seemed to pay attention.
1989's "Batman" was a mega-hit, smashing records with its 40 million opening weekend, grossing over 400 million worldwide, and even sparking some fierce legal battles due to its unprecedented success. It's no surprise that Warners handed Burton even more control when it came time for the sequel. "Batman Returns" was set to be similarly massive, and everyone was keen to get in on the action. Charlize Theron has no hard feelings over “Mad Max: Fury Road,” but she’s also not holding back, calling out the “fucking tough” production circumstances.
Theron starred as Furiosa opposite Tom Hardy in the 2015 franchise film directed by George Miller. The Oscar winner has since revealed that she butted heads with Hardy so much that she requested producer Denise Di Novi be on set to ensure no future “disrespectful” altercations would not occur with the actor.
Now in The Hollywood Reporter, Theron is addressing the myth that “trauma or sacrifice” must happen on set for a film to be great.
“Listen, I know, I said, ‘Oh, as an actor, you want to be challenged,’ but you don’t want it to be that bad,” Theron said. “It was a long, long shoot. I have never done anything that needed that kind of endurance, and I don’t think I ever will [again].”

Charlize Theron felt so threatened by Mad Max co-star Tom Hardy that she asked for a female producer as protection. Yet the industry still relies on film sets being lawless bubbles where you question macho posturing at your peril
To the list of movies that will for ever carry with them the stink of disreputable on-set behaviour (such as Last Tango in Paris and Kill Bill) comes a surprising new addition. Mad Max: Fury Road is already a contender for the best and most berserk action film of the century so far. Unfortunately, it now transpires that the craziness was not restricted to porcupine-spined jalopies, double-necked flamethrower guitars and other markers of its delirious visual excess. With the publication of Kyle Buchanan’s Blood, Sweat and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max Fury Road, it is now a matter of public record that Charlize Theron felt so...

Playing warrior Furiosa onscreen proved to be more of a battle than Charlize Theron expected.
The “Mad Max: Fury Road” star revealed that she butted heads with co-star Tom Hardy to the point of requesting producer Denise Di Novi to be on set to ensure there were no future issues.
A particularly explosive argument over Hardy showing up late to work led to Theron slamming the “Dark Knight Rises” alum for being “disrespectful,” according to camera operator Mark Goellnicht, as reported by New York Times writer Kyle Buchanan in his new book, “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’” excerpted in Vanity Fair.
“[Hardy] was quite aggressive. She really felt threatened, and that was the turning point,” Goellnicht added.
Theron opened up about the tense dynamic on the set of George Miller‘s 2015 prequel film, which was years in the making.

The “Mad Max: Fury Road” oral history book “Blood, Sweat & Chrome” is now available for purchase, and with it comes a lot of new information about the set feud between leading actors Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. As Theron explains in the book (via Vanity Fair), “It was like two parents in the front of the car. We were either fighting or we were icing each other — I don’t know which one is worse — and they had to deal with it in the back. It was horrible! We should not have done that; we should have been better. I can own up to that.”
Both Theron and Hardy have spoken about the feud in the past, citing the film’s grueling production schedule and an overall lack of trust in each other as inciting incidents. But as “Blood, Sweat & Chrome” reveals, there was a specific set incident that exploded...

She continued to work up until her death.
“Alison was a tenacious producer, who loved nurturing and protecting the artists she worked with,” Robinson said. “The only thing she loved more than her work was her family, her husband Jason and her beautiful son Stevie. I consider myself lucky to have had her as my friend and partner. …She will be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have known her.
