It’s hard for me to believe that another Flashback Weekend is nearly upon us, but in just a few short days, genre fans will descend upon the Crown Plaza Chicago O’Hare (5440 N. River Road, Rosemont, Il) for three days of horror-filled shenanigans. Beginning Friday, August 4th and running through Sunday, August 6th, Flashback is pulling out all the stops for their 15th anniversary, with their massive Nightmare on Elm Street reunion bringing together casts from nearly all of the films, including the legendary Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Lisa Wilcox, Amanda Wyss, Ronee Blakley, Joann Willette, Brooke Bundy, Tuesday Knight, Danny Hassel, Toy Newkirk, Kelly Jo Minter, Brooke Theiss, Andras Jones, Ricky Dean Logan, Katharine Isabelle, Ken Kirzinger, Paula Shaw, and Jesse Hutch.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Flashback 2017 will also feature a multitude of other notable guests, including Lance Henriksen, Ken Foree, Nancy Loomis, William Forsythe,...

“The Boondocks Saints” franchise is still alive and coming to your TV.
Troy Duffy’s 1999 film starred Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus as Irish American twin brothers Connor and Murphy MacManus, who took it upon themselves to take on the evil Russian mobsters in Boston. Despite critical panning and only getting an initial release in five theaters for one week due to the Columbine High School massacre, the film gained a cult following from its international release and DVD sales. In 2009, Duffy released a sequel, “The Boondocks Saints II: All Saints Day.”
While details about the plot are under wraps for “The Boondocks Saints: Origins” TV series, Don Carmody Television (Dctv) launched its fan-focused pre-order campaign that is seeking donations at BoondocksBack.com. While fans can donate any amount, the campaign has also created merchandise incentives in three increasing tiers. All three tiers will receive a box of “The...

Set to visit 16 cities in 2014, Wizard World’s plethora of comic book booths, clothing vendors, and impressive line-up of celebrities are always enough to sate the appetite of any pop culture enthusiast, but prior to their visit to Minneapolis May 2nd–4th, I was wondering how much horror would be had in the aisles within the Convention Center’s cavernous confines.
As it turns out, Wizard World had more than enough entertainment for horror fans to dig into, and they picked the perfect horror headliner for Wizard World Minneapolis: Robert Englund, best known as Freddy Krueger, the living legend of our nightmares and realities.
One of my first destinations upon entering Wizard World Minneapolis was Robert Englund’s booth. I weaved my way through a crowd of eye-grabbing cosplayers—Hellboy, Darth Maul, and a perfectly matched Spider-Man and Black Cat couple were of particular notice—before stepping in line to...

After two feature films and a graphic novel, the vigilante brothers from Boston known as the Boondock Saints are making their way back to the big screen for a final chapter. The Boondock Saints, written and directed by Troy Duffy, was released in 1999 to favorable reviews and financial success. The film starred Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as Irish fraternal twins Connor and Murphy McManus who by happenstance become vigilantes. The film also starred David Della Rocco, Willem Dafoe and Billy Connolly as their father. A sequel, The Boondock Saints: All Saint's Day, was released in 2009 and director Duffy has since been trying to get his stars back together for the final film in the planned trilogy. Comicpalooza, Texas' premier comic book and pop culture convention, is gearing up for its Memorial Day weekend run in Houston (May 25–27). And while last year was great, this year there's something very special planned.
With a lineup crammed full of stars such as Michael Biehn (The Terminator, The Victim), Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Andromeda), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), Claudia Christian (Babylon 5), George Takei (Star Trek) and Kristin Bauer (True Blood), the upcoming convention is already pretty extraordinary. But Comicpalooza founder John Simons has devised an event to make 2012's fest even more kickass...if that's even possible.
Simons had an epiphany recently. "The next best thing to being a sci-fi or action hero," Simons told me, "has to be shooting a sci-fi or action hero with a gun — or maybe being shot by one." And this simple thought led him to conceive a bit of...

The Stars of The Boondock Saints are to appear at the SXSW film festival tomorrow to launch a new video game spin-off.
The 1999 cult movie was directed by Troy Duffy and starred Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as non-identical twins Connor and Murphy MacManus.
The brothers kill two Russian Mafia members in self-defence and then decide they must rid their home city of Boston of all crime and evil, joined by their friend David Della Rocco and with FBI agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe) in pursuit.
The movie spawned a sequel in 2009 plus a companion comic (right) that was brought to San Diego Comic-Con in 2010 by Duffy, Flanery and Rocco.
Austin-based production company Critical Mass Interactive is now developing a Boondock Saints video game.
Flanery, Reedus and Rocca will be at SXSW, in Austin, Texas, at 3pm on Sunday, March 11, for a panel discussion at the Arcade Stage in the Palmer Events Centre.

Erie, Pa. -- Economic protesters were sidelined in downtown Erie last weekend, when ghosts and ghouls occupied the city's famed Warner Theatre. No, there was no zombie outbreak -- at least not this time around -- but a celebration of all things frightful by like-minded fans at the 8th annual Eerie Horror Film Festival.
The four-day festival and expo featured dozens of films, screenings, celebrity appearances and a variety of booths selling books, posters, clothing and collectibles.
Two of the big draws to this year's festival were guest appearances by Alexander Vincent and Norman Reedus.
Vincent was 6 years old in 1988 when he played the role of Andy Barclay in the 1988 horror film "Child's Play." He also starred in the 1990 sequel, "Child’s Play 2." Vincent, now 30, said he was not traumatized by starring in the films opposite "Chucky," a doll possessed by the soul of a mass murderer.

What’s it take to succeed? Well, sitting around in your ketchup-stained boxers in front of a computer is apparently not going to get it done. Which basically means I won’t be famous any time soon. (Sad sigh.) For guys like Troy Duffy, director of “The Boondock Saints” movies, though, that’s weak shit. Duffy says as much in the new documentary by Jeff Santo called “Off the Boulevard”. It’s not just about film directors trying to make things happen, though, it also follows two musicians, two actors, and a comedian. Check out a trailer for it below. The Boondock Saints get wild and rowdy as they discuss current projects, Boondock Saints 3, and the incomprehensible genius of David Della Rocco.
*Warning: Mature language throughout
It was a rare treat this past weekend to sit in on the Q&A with the stars of one of the greatest films ever conceived, The Boondock Saints. Now while the sequel didn't do as well as everyone had hoped, that still hasn't slowed Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, and David Della Rocco one bit.
Norman was on hand promoting The Walking Dead on AMC, Sean had Sinners and Saints coming out, and David...well, David had some interesting things to say. You'll see what I mean.
Having Rocco and the MacManus brothers together for the first time in a long time was one of the downright funniest experiences in my life and I hope it blows your mind like it did mine.

More legends of horror than you can shake a gore-stained machete at!
I had the supreme honor this weekend to have had a place secured on the Red Carpet for the opening of Texas Frightmare Weekend 2011. The opportunity to meet and greet some of the biggest names in cinema and horror was amazing as the photos below will show.
Each of them a legend, the stars came out to celebrate not only the genre they love so dearly, but the genre some of them helped to create.
A gentleman and a scholar, iconic German actor Dieter Laser was friendly and fun to hang out with despite what The Human Centipede made you think of him.
Joining Dieter Laser, the man behind the sickness that was The Human Centipede, rock star director Tom Six was an awesome addition to the Red Carpet.

He made us laugh, cry, and piss our pants as the nefarious Captain Spaulding,...

Tmp will be rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in horror and wants to know: What would you like us to ask them?
Since Tmp is going to be getting a little chat time with some of the biggest names in horror (Roger Corman, Clive Barker, Robert Englund, etc.) we of course are going to be chock full of questions about their careers, their favorite moments and memories, and of course, any interesting stories from the past.
But we would be absolutely remiss if we didn't ask some questions on behalf of our loyal readers! So here's your opportunity to get your word in edgewise!
If you have any questions for any of the guests at Texas Frightmare Weekend, post them up here and we'll be certain to ask them when we get up-close and personal with these legends of terror! Be sure to indicate which guest you'd...

Tons of new stuff has been coming out for the upcoming Texas Frightmare Weekend, which is shaping up to have its biggest year yet. And quite frankly, I'm jealous I won't be there.
First we have the unveiling of the con's first ever full-color program guide. Weighing in at 32 pages, each attendee will get one free at registration. It's chock-full of all the vital details you will need to make the most of your weekend in Texas, including guest info, vendor and guest maps, a full schedule, a map of the hotel, and the biggest news: a first look at the 2012 Tfm location.
This is a pretty cool takeaway for visitors with a boss cover designed by Matt Orsman and program layout by Lindsay Babroski of Mouse Tamer Designz.
In case you won't be there, you can still check out the program guide below. Consider it motivation to be there next year.

After "kind of hanging out" with Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and David Della Rocco at HorrorHound Weekend (I did buy them a Jack and Coke) I had to share this Blu-ray news with you! Fox Home Entertainment has revealed details on the Truth & Justice Edition of The Boondock Saints for June 14th. As well as theatrical and unrated directors cuts of the film, extras will include a commentary with Writer/Director Troy Duffy, a second commentary with Actor Billy Connolly, a Boondock Saints – The Film and the Phenomenon feature, deleted scenes, outtakes, the theatrical trailer, and a digital copy of the film. I'll take one of these! Synopsis:
When a series of mysterious murders occur in Boston, the police begin to suspect that the deaths are vigilante killings perpetrated by twins Connor (Sean Patrick Flannery, To Live and Die) and Murphy (Norman Reedus, American Gangster) MacManus. Pursued by FBI...

HorrorHound Weekend 2011, Indy was the most postive and fun I've experienced to date and I've hit quite a few film fests and conventions in my day. I know one thing, they expected 14,000 horror fans and there were more than that. I don't know if there's a final head count yet. Like always, I thought I'd share a few pictures with you and let you a know a little of what went down. I'm proud to say GeekTyrant had a huge presence at this HorrorHound! I want to personally thank Nathan from HorrorHound for letting me be a part of this and Jason Hignite for putting this together and helping to make it happen!
First up, I can' t think of a better way to say "Welcome to HorrorHound Weekend" then have actress and friend Erica Soto standing in front of one of the Hh banners!
Here's the cool Scream 4...

Creation's Weekend of Horrors is returning to the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel this October 15-17, and aside from Bruce Campbell, we haven't known who's going to be there. Well, that's about to change as the first group of guests has recently been announced.
Here's who you can look forward to seeing there:
Bruce Campbell
For the last few decades, Bruce Campbell has been one of the most recognizable faces and entertaining actors in genre cinema and television. Besides starring as "Ash" in the Evil Dead series, he's been seen in films such as Spider-Man and Sky High, played elderly Elvis in Bubba Ho Tep and appeared in now-classic (well, kinda) TV series such as "The Adventures of Brisco County", "Jack of All Trades" and "Xena: Warrior Princess". He can be seen now as former Cold War spy Sam Axe in the USA cable series "Burn Notice". Appearing Saturday only.

At last weekend’s Monster-Mania convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Fango got a chance to chat with actor Sean Patrick Flanery, who was there with his Boondock Saints co-stars Norman Reedus and David Della Rocco. Flanery next hits the big screen in Saw 3D, and despite the usual cloud of secrecy hovering over this franchise entry, he spoke quite a bit about his experience on Jigsaw’s first dimensional adventure.

Chicago – “There’s not a bigger ‘f*ck you!’ from Hollywood than when they say: ‘Eh, we’re not going to release this film.’” But then the fans say: “Oh, you know what? About $100 million says that you are retarded. It says that you made a bad decision,” “The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day” star Sean Patrick Flanery said in a Chicago interview with HollywoodChicago.com.
Flanery added: “Everybody thinks they know. Executives say: ‘We do this for a living.’ Well, you f*cked up. You f*cked up! You didn’t put this in the theater, and with no advertising, people just picked it up and said: ‘You’re an idiot. This is a good film.’”

Not many people know this, but the first Boondock Saints film barely even happened. After a one week run in five theaters, the film was released on DVD… and embraced by a massive cult following. A sequel was always promised and showed up on IMDb years before production had even begun, but after a while, fans started to doubt that we’d ever even see another installment. Now, ten years later, Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day happened, and thank the Lord it did.
All Saints Day picks up eight years after the McManus Brothers and their vigilante killing spree across Boston. They’ve fled to Ireland, along with their father, to find some peace and escape the insanity cause by their killings. But a copycat killer leaves their signature mark after murdering a priest and lure Connor and Murphy back to Boston to finish what they started eight years ago.

It was only a mater of time.
Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day will expand to more theaters across the nation after the sequel to the 1999 cult hit performed well in limited release. Film distributor Apparition will open the movie in more cities including San Francisco, Dallas, San Diego, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Houston on November 13th.
Boondock Saints II nabbed $500,000 last weekend in Los Angeles in New York. Using a tactic most recently used by Paramount’s Paranormal Activity, producers set up a web page asking fans to “demand” that the film be shown in their area.
Directed by Troy Duff , the Boondock sequel stars Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, Clifton Collins, Julie Benz, Judd Nelson, Robert Cochrane Marley Jr., Brian Mahoney, David Ferry, David Della Rocco, Peter Fonda and Billy Connolly.

More goodies for all the hardcore Boondock Saints fans out there. MTV has debuted the official poster for the sequel we thought we'd never see - Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. It's not an exact copy, but it looks strikingly similar to the original Boondock Saints poster seen here (at least with the two guys holding guns). Obviously they're trying to get everyone who even saw the original to take an interest in the sequel. And if they keep promoting it that way, they may turn this into another cult classic. That is, if it's actually a good movie. Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, Billy Connolly and David Della Rocco are all returning. If you haven't seen it, the first official trailer for Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is online right here. Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is once again both written and directed by the crazy Troy Duffy,...

Two trigger happy vigilantes versus Judd Nelson? Now that’s a movie. MTV’s got your first look at the “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day” poster and some stills, and a green band trailer has arrived for the kiddies. (The adults should take at the Red Band trailer here.) Julie Benz joins the cast as one of those law-enforcement types who goes everywhere with her own wind machine, apparently. The MacManus brothers are living a quiet life in Ireland with their father, but when they learn their beloved priest has been killed by mob forces, the duo return to Boston to bring justice to those responsible. Starring Julie Benz, Clifton Collins Jr., Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, Judd Nelson, Peter Fonda, Billy Connolly, David Della Rocco, Bob Marley, Sweeney MacArthur, and directed by Troy Duffy. Get some sinning action October 30, 2009.
