Wayne’s World started out as a sketch on Saturday Night Live. When it made its way to the movie screen, it became a huge success, seeing as how it earned more than $180 million on a $20 million budget. As a result, there are a fair number of scenes from Wayne’s World that have managed to become lodged in the pop cultural landscape, though there can be no doubt about the fact that the most memorable scene is the one in which Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar rocked out to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Why Did Mike Myers and Dana Carvey

Chi-town residents! Pay heed to our words because there is a genre film festival coming to your town for the very first time. Well, not the first first time. As you will read below Cinepocalypse evolved from another horror film festival and like the great suburban Chicago prophet Wayne Campbell once said back in 1992, "... I still know how to party" (waits for vague reference to drop). Cinepocalypse has just announced the first wave of programming and there is a lot of good stuff it. The fest will host the world premiere of Finnish vigilante flick Rendel. Festival faves Lowlife and Tragedy Girls continue to rage the circuit. A couple films that are going to make some noise as they bow this fall...

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Wayne’s World, the movie that taught us everything we’ll ever need to know about guitar lust, gelatinous cubes, and the cutthroat world of Illinois public access TV. To celebrate the film’s enduring legacy, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson—the stars of Comedy Central’s Broad City, and well-studied students of its two-buddies-slacking-off dynamic—have decided to bring Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar’s mirthful antics back to the world, in the form of a live table read at this year’s Colossal Clusterfest in San Francisco.
Glazer will take on the role of Mike Myers’ Wayne, while Jacobson will play the production’s ersatz Dana Carvey. Meanwhile, they’ve also assembled a pretty stellar guest star list, with Tia Carrere reprising her role as Cassandra, and comedian Ron Funches giving what we can only assume will be a dementedly cheerful...

If you happen to be in Aurora, Illinois any time over the next six months, be sure to stop by the pop-up replica of Stan Mikita's Donuts. Feel free to take a selfie in a Wayne or Garth wig at the public library, or check out a replica of the Campbell family basement at the community college. Or maybe just enjoy any of the dozens of contests, events and celebrations the town is hosting in honor of the 25th anniversary of the movie Wayne's World.

Well, if you’ve been feeling like this season of Homeland has started out a little slow… this week’s episode certainly ends with a bang.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are like the Patrick Star and SpongeBob SquarePants of presidential politics. No, they’re more like the Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar of politics. Or maybe they’re the Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of politics. In truth, they’re all these things and more in Trump X Hillary: I Love To Hate You, a half-delightful, half-disturbing series of images by Brazilian artist and graphic designer Butcher Billy, who defines himself as “a pop culture mean butcher.” The project consists of a series of diptychs, each one presenting the candidates as different pop culture characters whose relationship is defined by a potent mixture of affection and enmity. Here they are, for instance, as the Red Queen and the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s 2010 film Alice In Wonderland. Trump seems to be in a puckish mood, enjoying the irritation he is causing Clinton.

Mike Myers is thinking about what Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar would be up to at age 50. Earlier this year, Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary with a three-hour live special on NBC, a star-studded affair with appearances from numerous cast members and hosts from throughout the show's run. To further mark the occasion, an immersive exhibit packed with SNL memorabilia recently opened in New York City, and its creative director, Mark Lach, offered Rolling Stone a behind-the-scenes tour.
As Lach notes, the SNL exhibit was designed to chronicle the show's history, while taking visitors through its notoriously hectic weekly schedule. On Monday, Lorne Michaels and...

Forget about those celebrity commencement speeches, the only words you need to hear come from the Oneonta High School Class of 1989's two students with the lowest GPAs: Bobby Ristick and Logan Duffy.
In a segment on Thursday's Tonight Show, Ristick (Jimmy Fallon) and Duffy (Dwayne Johnson) shared some of the wisdom they gained from their "eight years at this high school" in their graduation speech.
"First off, focus on the future, don't get caught up in fads that won't last, like computers. You really think a dumb box of wires is going to be around in 10 years?" said Duffy.

It is hard to believe that creator Lorne Michaels’s legendary late night variety show Saturday Night Live has been kicking around the American airways for four decades and still remarkably standing on its hind legs even until this very day. No doubt that SNL has shaped the pop cultural minds of its avid viewers for forty-plus years on the small screen. Importantly, SNL gave birth to the careers of some of Hollywood’s major top stars in the realm of film, television and stage.

Thanks to Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice, Doc Sportello (Joaquin Phoenix) will go down as one of the greatest movie stoners of all time. Based on Thomas Pynchon‘s protagonist in the novel of the same name, Phoenix’s Sportello is a hippie private eye who likes to toke up while pondering the world and solving the mystery of his missing ex-girlfriend. He’s also pleasant proof that stoners aren’t just a collection of nonsense and wasted days. For Sportello, weed is his source of clarity. It’s his window into what he can’t see sober. And he’s not the only one who shares that sentiment either. From Wayne Campbell to the Dude, some of the greatest movie stoners tap into the secrets of the universe when they light up. Here’s just a few of the life lessons we’ve learned from them.

Mike Myers has been honoured with his own postage stamp in Canada.
The comedic actor's face will be on the 85-cent stamp alongside three of his most famous characters, Wayne Campbell from Wayne's World and Austin Powers and Dr Evil from Austin Powers.
According to WENN, Myers said: "I can't believe it... It's unbelievably flattering. I just want to thank whoever in the Canadian government decided to put this idiot on a stamp."
The actor revealed that his mother, from Liverpool, wasn't overly impressed with the honour.
"She literally said, 'Is it legal tender?' I'm sure if you got enough Mike Myers stamps you could buy a car," Myers added.
"She said, 'Do you not know anyone else who is on a stamp?' I go, 'Yeah, one other person - Her Majesty the Queen!'"
The stamp will be released this summer, and is the first in a series celebrating Canadian comedians.

Party on! Comedian Mike Myers turns 49 today.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Myers got his start on Saturday Night Live in 1988. On the show, Myers portrayed hilarious characters, such as Simon -- a British "cheeky monkey" who liked "drawerings" and baths -- and Wayne Campbell, a heavy-metal public-access television show host. The comedian brought the character of Wayne to the big screen in 1992 for the film Wayne's World alongside Tia Carrere and Dana Carvey. Myers has also been the star of the successful Austin Powers and Shrek series.
Myers love of comedy and performing was apparent when he was a child, the comedian told Parade in 2010.

Lorne Michaels once named Kristen Wiig among the best performers in Saturday Night Live history — and Wiig’s stable of quirky original characters certainly dominated the show for the last few years. From her first SNL episode as a featured player in 2005 to her last show this past Saturday, she played about 18 characters who appeared in three or more sketches — no small feat, especially considering Wiig’s equally huge roster of impressions. But which of these made-up ladies should join beloved creations like Wayne Campbell, Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, and Darrell Hammond’s Sean Connery (who might as well be fictional...

Want to make a Gen Xer feel old? Tell 'em that 20 years ago today, on February 14, 1992, "Wayne's World" was released in theaters. ("'Wayne's World' is 20? No way?!" "Way!") Lots of now middle-aged folks who spent too long living in their parents' basements (like Wayne and Garth) have fond memories of what may be the funniest film ever spawned from a "Saturday Night Live" sketch, a film that made a bankable movie comedy star out of Mike Myers, introduced the world to Tia Carrere, helped rescue Rob Lowe's career, and spawned countless catchphrases that viewers couldn't stop repeating. ("Schwing!" "We're not worthy!" "That's what she said!") Yet behind the movie's blissful silliness lies a secret story of off-camera bitterness and strife that threatened to keep the film from partying on -- as you'll read below. 1. Myers created the Wayne Campbell character long before "SNL," when he was still in high school.

With the 2012 Grammy Awards upon us and everyone already thrilled for the big Beach Boys / Foster The People / Maroon 5 reunion (finally!), let’s take a second to remind ourselves of something we all already know and complain about every year: The Grammys are, without a doubt, the weirdest and most arbitrary awards show in the entire entertainment world. To re-prove this time-tested theory, we’ve scoured Grammy’s checkered past and compiled some of its most bizarre winners in a desperate search of some meaning for this odd gramophonic statue. From the awesomely-random to the just flat-out terrible, here’s a list of 13 People You Can’t Believe Won A Grammy: 1. Zach Braff Without rehashing the internet’s eminent disdain for Garden State, let’s just take a moment to acknowledge that an actual physical golden gramophone was given to Zach Braff for being the “compilation producer” of the...

Allow me to review last night's American Idol -- in one sentence: Turns out The Girl Who Totally Fell didn't die, and the rest the surviving contestants broke into groups and prepared to sing songs. But no one actually sang a song. We watched not a single audition last night, nor any brilliant mouth-twitch choreography from my bedraggled aunt Steven Tyler. Instead we saw bratty auditioners in their stupid vests pretend to tolerate one another for the Group Round. That means there's no singing to recap or judges to harass. Hmph. That leaves us no choice but to choose the five best moments from the tune-free hour. Nigel Lythgoe and Cecile Frot-Coutaz, you'll pay for this.
5. All of the great vomiting
Who can select a best moment in Idol's great hurl cavalcade? It all started when That Chick Who Lives in a Tent came down with the flu and then,...

It's hard to completely dislike Mike Myers and Dana Carvey's characters Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar. There's probably a little bit of the loveable losers and public access television hosts in all of us. Plus, doesn't everybody know somebody still living in their mother's basement listening to Dream On in the dark and living like it's the '90s? Would a third theatrical adaptation of the popular Saturday Night Live skit be too dated to draw audiences? Dana Carvey doesn't necessarily think so and recently told TMZ that he'd be willing to do a third Wayne's World movie. With the actor having recently appeared in the terrible Jack and Jill, and co-hosting the Live with Kelly show, it's no shocker that he'd be willing to star...

The biggest laugh in Carnage, Roman Polanski’s chaotic ensemble comedy, doesn’t come from one of the verbal barbs spewed between the group of ill-mannered New Yorkers. Rather it’s a gut-busting scene (quite literally) that involves, well, spew. And it’s from Kate Winslet, no less. In fact, the actress is so believable in the moment that if the Golden Globes were to vote on a vomit curve, she’d have this thing in the bag. (Bridesmaids’ Kristen Wiig’s near-puke in the bridal shop would be a close second.)

Book of Mormon co-director Casey Nicholaw is in talks to direct an Austin Powers stage musical, which is being written by the international man of mystery himself, Mike Myers. The theatrical production will act as a prequel to the screen versions that appeared in the late '90s and ended in 2002 with Goldmember. Myers will set the spy spoof tale in 1960's London, revealing how the cheeky British agent found his mojo. It doesn't seem like a far stretch for Powers to hit the stage considering the musical montages featured in each movie and Myers love of song. He had a musical stint on SNL as Garth Algar's other half, Wayne Campbell. The actor also plays in the band Ming Tea — whose songs were featured in the first Austin Powers film — alongside...

Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar, as well as Beavis and Butthead gained such a fan base on television that they eventually made their way into cinemas. Are Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim at that level yet? Apparently so. The two have had the series, 'Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!' running since 2007, and also have a website with some media. To give you an idea of their humor if you're not familiar with them, the title of their featured video on the site is 'Diarrhea.' Spoilers: they squirt brown liquid in the faces of high school children. IGN has premiered the brand-new red band trailer for their upcoming theatrical film, 'Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie.' The title doesn't look to speak for the literal budget, rather it ties in with the plot of the duo being given $1 billion to complete a film of their own.

We finally find out the format for the "X Factor" Top 17. Each group performs and each judge sends home one person from his or her group (Simon has to cut two girls) and that gives us the Top 12 that presumably the American public will get to start voting on.
Also, I have to apologize right up front if I can't identify all the songs. They're doing mash-ups and I don't know them all and they don't tell us, which is really irksome.

According to the Herald Sun, Brown's Richmond teammate Matthew Richardson was in the bridal party and Tigers assistant coach Wayne Campbell gave a reading during the service. It will be Myers' first trip back to the starring live-action big screen since his 2008 bomb, "The Love Guru"; he had a small part in "Inglorious Basterds." He's...

According to a report by HitFix, Mike Myers has signed a deal to reprise his most famous screen role as Austin Powers, in a fourth outing for the shagadelic superspy. Powers is surely the most famous of all Myers' big screen characters (excluding his voicework in the Shrek franchise), with Wayne Campbell coming a close second. Seeing as he hasn't played either of those characters for almost 10 years, and in the interim we've suffered The Cat In The Hat and The Love Guru, it's not surprising that Austin's crushed velvet suit is being taken...

So what is the aftermath of Phillip's race card shenanigans? Steve offers Phillip an olive branch handshake and Phillip agrees, but privately Phillip thinks it wasn't totally "genuous." He doesn't like that Steve has mocked him a couple times. Well, not saying things like "genuous" would be a good start. In the morning, Phillip has another Wayne Campbell Indian vision and thinks his grandfather is going to help him find the trunks Julie buried. He finds them, but I blame production 'cause nobody wants to see him walk around in those droopy drawers.
He then screws up the"You can't handle the truth" quote from "A Few Good Men" and calls himself an "undercover specialist." And he can't wait to show off his shorts to Julie at the duel. Like she gives a rat's patootie.

Adapted from the Henry James classic of the same name, Wayne's World traces a young provincial girl's journey toward self-realization and womanhood. Not! (It was necessary that a "Not" "joke" be worked into this at some point, so let's just be thankful that we've gotten it out of the way this early.) Wayne's World is, of course, the film adaptation of the seminal, 90s, Saturday Night Live sketch about two slacker BFFs, Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey). The duo host a wildly popular, Aurora, Illinois-based public-access show, broadcast from Wayne's parents' basement. The film elaborates on this premise by giving Wayne a robo-babe love interest, Cassandra (Tia Carrere), and introducing Benjamin (Rob Lowe), a smooth-talking television executive who plans to exploit "Wayne's World's" popularity and drive a wedge between Wayne and Cassandra.

When I first heard that Dana Carvey was going to be hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live — in the year 2011 (!!!), no less! — I immediately began concocting a list of excuses that could get me out of watching the episode. After all, in the 17 years or so since Carvey left the hallowed halls of Studio 8H, he had seemingly morphed from one of the greatest sketch performers of all-time to battling Robin Williams for the title of World’s Most Annoying Talk Show Guest™. Sadly for me, the best excuse I could come up with was “The dog ate my iPad,” an excuse I realized wouldn’t really hold water due to the fact that I don’t actually own an iPad. So somewhat begrudgingly, I flipped on the telly on Sunday morning and fired up my DVR. As I sat down on my couch, fired up the coffee machine...

If anyone out there has been complaining about "Saturday Night Live" not living up to the quality of the "good ole days," then this past weekend should've been a treat. Former cast member Dana Carvey returned to host the late night sketch series last weekend, and he brought a few special guests with him. Right from the cold open, the episode felt like it was being broadcast from the early 90's as Wayne's World kicked off the show with Wayne Campbell (special guest star and former cast member Mike Myers) and Garth Algar (Carvey) scrutinizing the 2011 Best Picture nominees for the 83rd Academy Awards. Watch below! Their faces may have aged a little bit, but these two comedy all-stars fell right back into the comfy chair's in Wayne's Mom's basement and delivered some hilarious nostalgia. Of course Wayne and Garth aren't exactly concerned with the awards themselves, and would rather...

While the various movie trailers shown throughout the Super Bowl were obviously the highlight of the weekend, you may have missed out on another major movie event on Saturday night. Need a hint? Here's a pretty obvious one: it's Wayne's World! Wayne's World! Party time! Excellent!
The hilarious basement-dwelling duo of Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar reunited for the first time in years this past weekend when Dana Carvey hosted "Saturday Night Live." The night kicked off with a surprise reunion between Carvey and Mike Myers' long-haired alter egos, with Wayne and Garth still equipped with their signature bathroom-humor-fueled insight as they analyzed this year's Oscar contenders.
Of the many motion pictures up for consideration at the Academy Awards this year, Wayne and Garth favored dark horse pick "Winter's Bone" for each of the categories it's nominated for, including Best Supporting Actor for John Hawkes, Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence and Best Picture.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but something tells me I'll need a few more words than that to fully explain what you're going to see here.
For now, the short version: I recently traveled to London to check out the set of "Captain America," director Joe Johnston's currently shooting adaptation of the classic Marvel Comics series. Sadly, I can't talk about the specifics of my visit just yet, so you won't hear a peep from me about Cap's costume or Red Skull's makeup effects. (Spoiler Alert: They're both frakkin' awesome.)
But I will say that I had a blast on set and was very impressed with what I saw. You'll know more in the coming months, but for now, all I can do is leave you with this picture of me grinning like an idiot, holding Cap's shield.
As Wayne Campbell so wisely put it: "I'm not worthy!

Running Time: 1 hr 50 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: August 13, 2010
Plot: Boy (Cera) plays bass. Girl (Winstead) plays hard to get. Boy gets girl. Boy must “defeat” all seven of Girl’s evil exes. “And … Fight!”

Whether rocking out as Wayne Campbell, hunting for his mojo as Austin Powers or digging out the green facepaints for Shrek, Mike Myers is one of Hollywood's most powerful and successful funnymen. But how much do you really know about the Saturday Night Live alumnus? Keep reading for 10 fast facts about the 47-year-old comic. 1. Mike was born on May 25, 1963 in Ontario Canada to former Raf member Alice and insurance worker Eric, who both hailed from Liverpool. 2. Did you know that Myers owns the last ever letter sent by late Beatles legend George Harrison? The Liverpool pop icon thanked Myers for his "funny movies" and asked him for a Mini-Me doll. The comic has the letter framed and admits that it is one of the most incredible moments of his life. 3. He may be very successful and very rich, but Myers's zany humour isn't to everyone's tastes. My name is Wayne Campbell. I live in Aurora, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago - excellent. I've had plenty of jo-jobs; nothing I'd call a career. Let me put it this way: I have an extensive collection of nametags and Casting Tidbits. First up, Variety reports Sigourney Weaver has joined the cast of the John Singleton directed thriller Abduction. The Taylor Lautner film follows a young man who realizes he was kidnapped as a child, and is forced to run for his life after he reaches out to find his real parents. Weaver will portray a psychiatrist to Lautner's character after he discovers his own baby picture on a missing persons website. Second, Entertainment Weekly has an update on some casting for Scream 4 as they've discovered Emma Roberts (Valentine's Day) nabbed the role that had previously been offered to Ashley Greene in the Ghostface Killer sequel.
