The set of Fox’s Sleepy Hollow had “grueling” working conditions, confusion and “creative floundering” among its leadership, and disparate treatment between its white male and Black female lead, according to Burn It Down.
The Hollywood exposé from Maureen Ryan, published by HarperCollins and which hit shelves on Tuesday, alleges that Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison — who played detective Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane, respectively — “did not want to have a whole lot to do with each other,” according to one source who worked on the show, allegedly resulting in Mison’s character’s famous “courtly” bow, because the co-stars did not want to hug each other.
That also allegedly translated to their onscreen narratives, according to showrunner Clifton Campbell, who told Ryan that Mison and Beharie “believed that the relationship between the characters should not evolve into a romantic relationship,” despite fan calls for one. (Neither Beharie nor Mison commented for the book.

Women’s Weekend Film Challenge (Wwfc) is launching a pilot accelerator program for writers to pitch female-centric content.
The program, which will see emerging TV writers pitching beginning in October of this year, was designed to help such writers advance their careers, as well as to increase the representation of women non-binary people working in television.
“So many members of our community have pilot scripts ready to go but no one to pitch to,” Wwfc co-founder Tracy Sayre said in a statement. “This gap became especially apparent over the last year as we’ve hosted weekly virtual workshops; far and away, the most popular events have centered around how to pitch and how to break into the writers room. This accelerator is a natural response to the career goals of our community.”
Wwfc is accepting applications for the accelerator on FilmFreeway from June 17 to July 21, 2021. The program will take place virtually.

There's so much supernatural and the unexplained going on around the police procedural aspect of our show ... we don't want to open that door up to the rest of the world." That's what Executive Producer Clifton Campbell told BuddyTV. But isn't that what's exactly what will happen if Bones creeps into Abbie and Crane's world?
If you are a Sleepy Head, you may be freaking out a bit as the date of the crossover looms, but have no fear, your universe and it's mythology are pretty safe, but, (Holy Headless Horseman!) it is a close call with the Bones muggles poking around and shooting holes in things on Sleepy Hollow. Regardless, let's have some fun with it. Here are five teases from "Dead Men Tell No Tales" to divert your sleepy attention while you wait for the event to roll around.

Well, they've done it, and they've done it very well. Such is the opinion of executive producers Jonathan Collier of Bones and Clifton Campbell of Sleepy Hollow. Much more importantly, such is also the opinion of the press who have gotten to see the two-hour Halloween crossover event in advance. "The Resurrection in the Remains" and "Dead Men Tell No Tales" air October 29.
Who would have ever thought two such disparate universes could intertwine without threatening the integrity of the individual mythologies? How did they do it, and what were the logistical challenges? Would they ever attempt it again? These were the questions on everyone's minds when we talked with the team of executive producers one week before the Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover debuts.

Sleepy Hollow season 3 is returning to Universal Channel later this month.
Hit play above to watch an exclusive teaser for the new run, beginning Thursday, October 22 at 9pm in the UK.
Tom Mison, who plays Ichabod Crane on the series, has previously described season 3 as "a reboot", with new showrunner Clifton Campbell taking the reins.
Shannyn Sossamon joins the cast as a series regular - playing the mysterious Pandora - while Lance Gross is also on board as the new boss of Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie).
There'll also be a somewhat surprising crossover with (decidedly non-supernatural) crime drama Bones, which airs on the Fox network in the Us as well.

Sleepy Hollow‘s Season 2 finale left Ichabod minus his witchy wife and surly, sorcerer son… and musing a fenestella’s worth of unanswered questions.
“Coming out of Season 2, and with a lull in the evil, like Abbie, he was also asking questions about, ‘How do I fulfill my destiny as a Witness and still find a place in the modern world?” says showrunner Clifton Campbell (The Glades), who took the series’ reins after executive producer Mark Goffman left in May.

While the Sleepy Hollow Season 2 finale brought us back to the past, the supernatural drama’s Season 3 premiere will spring us forward into the future. The first episode of Sleepy‘s third season picks up about a year after the events of the second season finale, with Abbie having become an FBI agent during the time jump, and Ichabod having spent some of his time over in England. Perhaps those are the reasons for why both of them are rocking new (but very good!) looks in these photos from the Season 3 opener, “I, Witness,” as the dynamic duo reunites to work on a new case together. And really, the constant of Abbie and Ichabod together is pretty much the only thing that has stayed the same on Sleepy Hollow, with new showrunner Clifton Campbell entering; Season 2 regulars John Noble, Katia Winter, and Orlando Jones exiting the series; and new cast…...

Recent cast addition Lance Gross and brief second season guest star Zach Appelman have been upgraded to series regulars on the third season of the rebooted Fox supernatural drama "Sleepy Hollow".
Gross plays Daniel Reynolds, a Quantico-trained and political savvy FBI special agent and Abbie's new boss with whom she's worked before.
Appelman will reprise the role of Joe Corbin, the son of August Corbin (Clancy Brown), a marine who was cursed as a Wendigo. In this season he'll join Jenny to look into his father’s work to help Crane & Abbie.
The third season of the show is undergoing a creative reboot under new show runner Clifton Campbell ("The Glades") who is steering the show back towards the less plot heavy, lighter and more character-centric tone of the show's first season. The series is slated to return October 1st.

The upcoming "Sleepy Hollow"/"Bones" crossover (not to be confused with the hollow bones syndrome that afflicted Emily Mortimer's character on "30 Rock") is a throwback to an earlier age in TV, when crossover episodes were common, and not just between two shows with a common producer (which NBC still does with its Chicago fire/cop/hospital series), nor even between two shows that seemed particularly compatible. There’ll be no more Headless Horseman action in Sleepy Hollow. He's been axed as season 3 pushes ahead with ‘a new framework’…
Here’s an interesting one – the powers-that-be have decided to chop the Headless Horseman from the roster in Sleepy Hollow. His epic battle with Ichabod Crane was wrapped up in season 2, and apparently won’t be showing his face (er, stump) again.
“There won’t be any Headless this year,” said Clifton Campbell, Sleepy Hollow’s current showrunner, before hinting at some big changes for the show.
“But we have a new framework and a new set of rules for the mythology,” he added. “And it all starts with the introduction of our new big bad and will take us into a very interesting device which will allow us to see a somewhat more compelling, but more personal threat to both Abbie [Nicole Beharie] and Crane [Tom Mison].”

Sleepy Hollow will be without one of its core cast members when the series returns for its upcoming third season. As first reported by Variety, Orlando Jones is leaving the Fox supernatural drama ahead of Season 3. Jones played Captain Frank Irving on Sleepy Hollow. Although Frank initially didn’t believe Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) about the supernatural events happening in town during the show’s first season, he quickly became their ally and continued to be one throughout Season 2. Sleepy Hollow was a major critical and commercial success for Fox during its first season, but the show saw a major decline in both its ratings and in critics’ praise during its uneven second season. Although a third season of Sleepy Hollow was by no means a guarantee, the show was picked up for Season 3 back in March, but a new showrunner, Clifton Campbell (The Glades), was…

Following a ruling last month that the Television Academy would only consider half hour shows eligible for the comedy category at the Emmys, a panel of nine analysts have now begun handing down the rulings for exemptions in the selection process. The panel, which was set up to determine the category assignment of hour-long shows that appealed their placement in drama, has now ruled, as per Variety, that the Fox show Glee, the Showtime series Shameless, and the CW series Jane The Virgin can compete as comedies at the upcoming primetime Emmys. The decision will apply to all categories, from Acting to Directing, and so on.
One show that notably wasn’t granted a waiver, however, is the Netflix serial Orange Is The New Black. The series, which revolves around the inhabitants of a women’s prison, was categorised as a comedy at last year’s Primetime Emmys, where it picked up three wins.
