Er, has anyone told Falling Skies that it's only three episodes from its ultimate finale? Because it's still spinning its wheels...
This review contains spoilers.
5.7 Everybody Has Their Reasons
Falling Skies isn't really acknowledging that the show is drawing to an end. This is the fifth season, and this is the final season, and seven episodes in, Falling Skies is behaving with the leisurely pace of a second or third season, instead of a show with three episodes left in which to expel the alien threat from Planet Earth. We're meeting new people and killing them, we're searching for food and ammo, we're doing alien... liver transplants, I think, and we're very slowly making our way to Washington DC, where the Espheni are apparently plotting something nefarious.
A couple of seasons ago, the Second Mass ran into the remnants of the American military, including a general and a colonel and the President.

Revenge, Season 2, Episode 5: “Forgiveness”
Written by Sunil Nayar
Directed by Matt Earl Beesley
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on ABC
Forgiveness is an odd word in the world of Revenge but this week’s episode centers on some of our major characters’ desire for exactly that.
Victoria (Madeline Stowe) has always been the one in control, but seeing the look of pure fear on her face as Kara (Jennifer Jason Leigh) steps through the door proves that no one really knows what to expect from the unpredictable Kara.
The nice little moment at the beginning of the episode between Emily (Emily Van Camp) and Nolan (Gabriel Mann), where Emily expresses her guilt over not being there for Nolan after his father’s passing, is a good reminder that Emily is actually still human and capable of some kind of emotion. Sometimes that’s easy to forget when watching the show.

Revenge, Season 2, Episode 3: “Betrayal”
Written by Salvatore Stabile
Directed by Matt Earl Beesley
Airs Sundays at 9 pm (Et) on ABC
The Grayson family are in seclusion this week as the press descends on their mansion after news of Victoria’s (Madeline Stowe) ‘kidnapping’ becomes public.
“Whatever you’re thinking, I’m not the enemy,” Aidan (Barry Sloane) tells Emily early in the episode. I’m still a little unsure of Aidan and the trouble he’s sure to bring Emily’s way but I’m also curious to see where the writers take him, especially when it comes to his relationship with Emily. When he finds Emily’s mother it’s clear that Aidan is more than a blast from Emily’s past, he’s smart and potentially very dangerous.
This episode also proves that while the White Haired Man is dead, his ghost is still hanging over Emily’s life.

Revenge Review, Season 1, Episode 12, “Infamy”
Written by Dan Dworkin & Jay Beattie
Directed by Matt Earl Beesley
Cléa Major: With the Tyler storyline wrapped up last week, “Infamy” marked a return to Revenge‘s trusty Ruined-Life-of-the-Week formula, in which we are introduced to the episode’s vengeance target early in the episode, their connection to David Clarke is explained through a series of flashbacks, and Emily devastates them most thoroughly by the end of the hour. Formulaic, yes, but the subject of this week’s life-ruining was exceptionally delightful. Roger Bart plays Mason Treadwell, a simpering and pompous writer of nonfiction, who published a juicy book about Clarke’s crime. In exchange for his packing the book with lies, the Graysons set him on the path to fame and fortune.
Emily vividly remembers Mason interviewing her as a child, promising to use his journalistic chops to get out the truth about...
