ABC 20/20 has landed a big scoop tonight — talking to the woman who served time in prison for catfishing NBA Star Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen and an aspiring model. Shelly Chartier posed as Andersen and 17-year-old Paris Dunn online, tricking each of them into thinking they were talking to each other and organizing a rendezvous between the pair where they spent a romantic weekend together at his Denver area home. Chartier then also posed as a video gamer called Tom Taylor, saying she was Andersen’s best friend, and made threats against Dunn including briefly posting nude photos of her which she had sent...read more...

Before I get into my reviews I want to talk about the recent news regarding Wolverines return from the dead. After his appearance on Legacy #1 it has been confirmed that the original 616 continuity Wolverine will be back with us very soon. The road to his return starts in January 2018. He will appear in a series of ‘post credit scenes’ in key titles Captain America #697, Mighty Thor #703 and Amazing Spider-Man #794. Now I am a Wolverine completest but I can say right now I will not be buying these three issues or any other issues with Wolverine ‘post credit scenes’. Call me old fashioned but one of the premier X-Men should return in an X book or one of the two Wolverine titles. Of course after these ‘post credit’ appearances that could still happen and I hope we get a larger story involving his return in the two Wolverine titles or mini.

By now, many of you probably agree that one element which has allowed Injustice 2 to flourish is the addictive gameplay that it shares with its predecessor. And much like the original, it spotlights a DC Universe much different from the one we’ve come to know. As such, it’s given both developers and comic book creators much room to craft some truly riveting tales.
Not surprisingly, Tom Taylor has been knocking it out of the park as of late with the Injustice 2 ongoing title that serves as a prequel to the events depicted in the hit video game. This time, though, it’s K. Perkins who takes the wheel for the first annual to be spun from this particular series, effectively detailing Wonder Woman’s origin.

Between them, 20th Century Fox, James Mangold (Logan) and comic book scribe Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) are dreaming up a spinoff movie for X-23, the young mutant brought to life with real intensity by the up-and-coming Dafne Keen.
It’s still gestating in the formative stages of development, mind you, given Fox only made the project official late last month, but thanks to concept artist Masaolab (via ComicBook.com), we now have a sneak peek at what Dafne Keen may look like as “All-New Wolverine.”
Kitted out in full X-Men gear, this concept art is something special, as it imagines Laura/X-23 donning the adamantium claws as Wolverine’s one true successor. Loosely based on the aesthetic of Tom Taylor’s comic book series, below you’ll see Keen in action as X-23, who appears to be smashing her way through some sort of concrete wall. Weapon X #9-#10
Writers: Greg Pak & Fred Van Lente | Artist: Marc Borstel & Ibraim Roberson | Colourist: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Joe Caramagna
When it started, the premise of a Wolverine/Hulk hybrid seemed like a fun idea considering the character’s shared history. It was the perfect way to launch a new series: double down on action and deliver a fun story. Now we have followed these characters into a second story arc it is actually becoming a very character driven piece and still delivering! It can’t be coincidence that this shift occurred when Fred Van Lente came on board as a co-writer. This is of course merely speculation from me, either way I’m happy with the end product. It’s worth pointing out at this stage a Weapon H series was announced recently. That news of course spoils the outcome of this story arc! While he is a good character,...

Being my fifth blog milestone it is fate that the comic gods have dealt me a good hand this month. Marvel Legacy #1 by Jason Aaron and a whole bunch of artists dropped last week. For those who read and for those who haven’t spoiler… Logan is back! Yes the original Marvel 616 Logan is back from the dead. There are very little details to work with at the moment. Immediate questions are what does his return mean for the current books I’m reviewing? Watch this space…
Old Man Logan #28
Writer: Ed Brisson | Artist: Mike Deodato Jr | Colourist: Frank Martin | Letters: Cory Petit
After the last issue and now this one this story arc is going places. It just adds weight to the claim not every story has to be six issues. There are still a few problems with it but now my enjoyment has been increased they feel very minor.

When the ‘Generations’ one shots were announced in conjunction with the upcoming Legacy initiative by Marvel it was assumed a few currently dead heroes would be returning to the fold and this would be the jump on point. I don’t know if the premise for these one shots was set up elsewhere as picking up just one like I did is a little confusing to start with. Right away I can say without it feeling like a spoiler this has nothing to do with 616 Wolverine returning. Stephen King's The Dark Tower finally makes it to the screen. And not without problems...
The consensus among fans of Stephen King's epic fantasy novels seems to be that the long-gestating film adaptation of The Dark Tower has forgotten the face of its father. This isn't going to be one of those reviews, as it comes from a Dark Tower newbie who has yet to read the books, but judging it on its merits as a film, it's not a whole lot better than that.
As adaptations go, it's come out of long spells of development by Jj Abrams and Ron Howard with a killer idea – it's billed as a continuation of the series, in which its events take place over again at some point after the final book. You'd expect that this approach will offer a new story for the experts and a jumping-on point for the newbies,...

All New Wolverine #22
Writer: Tom Taylor | Artist: Leonard Kirk | Inks: Cory Hamscher | Colours: Michael Garland & Erick Arciniega | Letters: Joe Sabino
Laura continues her journey into the larger Marvel Universe this issue teaming with everyone’s favourite space adventurers The Guardians Of The Galaxy. This is a new story arc that follows directly on from the previous ‘Immune’ arc. However there is enough information given to easily pick this issue up and enjoy it without having read the previous three. I can’t stress enough how much of a fan of three issue story arcs I am. I think I have mentioned it in every review so far. With all the guests stars that have appeared in the series so far Taylor does a brilliant job of keeping voices unique.

The newest “Dark Tower” trailer gives us what we came here for. While the first trailer focused more on Jake (Tom Taylor)’s encounter with an alternate reality where Roland Deschain (Idris Elba) protects something called the Dark Tower, this trailer puts the spotlight on the main conflict between Roland, the last Gunslinger, and the Man in Black, played by Matthew McConaughey. It’s a simple battle between good and evil. The Man in Black wants to destroy the tower, which holds the universe together and the Gunslinger is the only one who can stop him. While the film uses Jake as an.

Much like its predecessors, Injustice 2 isn’t simply a tie-in comic, but rather, a compelling prequel that sets the stage for the blockbuster video game of the same name. Oh, and there’s also the fact that it happens to be one of the best books currently published by DC.
Since debuting this past spring, the digital first series written by Tom Taylor impressed us from the get-go, presenting a DC Universe different from what we’ve come to know, yet is no less compelling. Sure, it has that built in “Elseworlds” type of appeal, but when you factor in new concepts such as Damian Wayne having a sister, well, that’s what makes for “must read” material in our book.
There are, however, some constants that still ring true, such as the enduring romance between Green Arrow and Black Canary.

If you’ve been keeping up with the recent happenings at Marvel, then you’re well aware of Generations, an upcoming endeavor consisting of ten one-shots uniting heroes who have adopted various mantles, both past and present. In other words, expect to see team-ups featuring the likes of Wolverines Laura Kinney and Logan, and even Thors Odinson and Jane Foster.
What’s more is that we recently discovered this seemingly standalone tale will, in fact, have some sort of intertwining with Secret Empire, the House of Ideas’ currently in progress major crossover event. Sure, we probably won’t know all of the specifics until the actual periodicals ship, but it remains clear that something called “the Vanishing Point” is the reasoning for these otherwise anachronistic team-ups.

With Injustice 2 just around the corner now, that means DC are bringing back their smash-hit comic book tie-in that expands on the universe of the already smash-hit video game series. What’s even better is that Tom Taylor, the original writer of the series, is returning for the prequel to the sequel. This is a highly-anticipated first issue, then, and thankfully, it manages to live up to the hype.
Injustice 2 #1 follows the events of the first game, where Batman and his allies have brought down Superman’s totalitarian regime. Can Bruce Wayne now trust himself not to be just as corrupted with ultimate power? Meanwhile, with all the Robins gone, Harley Quinn is operating as the Dark Knight’s sidekick. But, while Batman has forgiven Harley’s past crimes, that doesn’t mean everyone has.

When asked how best to describe The Dark Tower, Stephen King’s eight-novel series and undisputed magnum opus, Matthew McConaughey likened the story to a “dark tale of Christianity,” one that spins a mythic battle between good and evil on an epic, mind-bending scale.
At the crux of that narrative is, of course, The Dark Tower itself, the looming, monolithic structure and nexus of time that soon becomes a point of fixation for Idris Elba’s Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, as he begins his quest through Mid-World and beyond alongside a mysterious young boy known as Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor). Both characters – along with Matthew McConaughey’s elusive Man in Black/Walter O’Dim – were ushered into the spotlight just yesterday via a trio of motion posters, and today, Sony has lifted the curtain on the one promo that has kept the Internet on tenterhooks ever since the unfinished cut leaked...

In the very near future, DC fans will be welcomed back to one of the most wildly popular alternate universes this reporter has ever seen when not only the Injustice 2 video game arrives in stores, but the prequel comic as well.
Much like the comics that tied into the first game, the new series aims to detail the years preceding the events of the console experience. Aside from finding out what the morally ambiguous Justice Leaguers have been up to, it looks like we’ll learn more about this specific interpretation of Brainiac, whom we’ve gotten the impression will factor heavily into the game’s storyline.
Although we won’t know much about him until we pick up a controller or open a book, it’s fair to say that his look is somewhat inspired by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s vision that was later adapted to an animated movie called Superman Unbound,...

Not long ago, Marvel dropped a simple, enigmatic teaser for something called Generations. At the time, no specifics were given, but it got everybody talking due to it depicting multiple versions of superheroes hanging out and also because it was painted by the incomparable Alex Ross. Who doesn’t love his work, am I right?
Anyway, the House of Ideas have finally pulled back the curtain on the project that will – get this – unite those who have taken up the guise of various heroes both past and present, just as the artwork hinted. I know, it all seems a bit confusing and will likely remain that way until this 10-issue series hits stands this July.
As of now, we know which heroes will join forces, along with the writers who will craft these stories. Artists have still yet to be named, but here’s the list made available:

Captain Cold, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and the Caped Crusader all feature in this new gameplay trailer for NetherRealm’s Injustice 2.
Building on the foundations laid by the original Shattered Alliances promo, the video above continues to spotlight the Man of Steel and his tyrannical regime. Presiding over a contingent of baddies headed up by Grodd, Superman is seen here confronting a stoic Batman, yelling, “how many more innocent people die before you accept that some lives need to be taken?!” Yes, Clark’s dramatic fall from grace continues with Injustice 2, and we’re intrigued to see how Superman and Batman’s clash pans out throughout the course of NetherRealm’s brawler sequel.

With the release of the Injustice 2 digital first tie-in comic rapidly approaching, we’ve thankfully arrived at the point where information pertaining to both it and the video game it’s based on will become evermore prevalent.
In fact, author Tom Taylor appeared on an episode of DC All Access just days ago in order to discuss some of the finer points of this eagerly anticipated sequel. One detail that he let slip was that the comic will indeed take place a few years before the Injustice 2 game, thereby leaving a whole lot of wiggle room when it comes to storytelling.
What’s just as interesting is that Taylor told Comic Vine exactly where on the timeline this prequel falls, along with a few more juicy plot points:
“Injustice 2 begins soon after the first game. Superman and his regime are in prison. The world is reeling. Batman is picking up the pieces.

Given that, it still came as a surprise that the follow-up will do something very similar.

When Injustice: Gods Among Us arrived on the scene several years ago, it not only astonished video game lovers with its Mortal Kombat inspired gameplay that came courtesy of NetherRealm Studios, but it also provided a fresh alternative to the usual Justice League stories one would expect to find in comics.
What perhaps nobody foresaw was the tie-in series set five years before the events of the first game being received so well that it spawned four follow-ups that completely filled in the blanks, and now said first game is currently receiving an adaptation of its own told from Harley Quinn’s point of view in the form of Injustice: Ground Zero. Over the past few years, Batman has certainly had some legendary team ups in the realm of comics that miles of red tape would certainly not allow in live action or even animation, for that matter. Having joined forces with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Green Hornet, and the Avengers (the ones from the old TV series, not the Marvel heroes), fans of dream crossovers have had many reasons to celebrate. In a matter of days, that list is set to expand when the Dark Knight and some of his closest allies will meet up with another iconic group in the pages of Justice League/Power Rangers.

Legacy heroes are running rampant at Marvel these days, something we’ve had the opportunity to discuss on more than one occasion lately. The beauty of it all is that it’s not necessarily always men stepping up to fill the shoes of their predecessors. From Jennifer Walters becoming the new Hulk to Jane Foster claiming the mantle of Thor, the A-list crop isn’t as much of a boys’ club as it once was. Such is also the case with All-New Wolverine.
This example, however, felt much more natural than most torch passings due to the fact that Laura Kinney, formerly known as X-23, was the clone daughter of Logan, the original Wolverine who happened to meet his demise a few years back. And, much like her papa, it looks like she’s set to endure some rather unpleasant experiences in next week’s issue that hauntingly echo his past.

NetherRealm CEO Ed Boon took to Twitter for a fan poll, asking what guest characters fans would like to see most in Injustice 2. In the first survey, specifically for a guest Mortal Kombat character, the choices were Subzero, Johnny Cage, Raiden and Jax. In the second poll, which looked at bringing in a genre guest character, the choices were Buffy, Hellboy, Terminator and Spawn. Subzero and Spawn were the clear, runaway favorites, taking 52% and 45% respectively. Coming in second place were Raiden at 20% and Hellboy at 21%. Of course, in typical Ed Boon fashion, don't be surprised if All of these characters appear as Dlc for Injustice 2. Injustice 2 is presently scheduled for release in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There is also a free-to-play mobile version in development for iOs and Android devices. Confirmed characters revealed thus far include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Atrocitus, Deadshot Gorilla Grodd and Wonder Woman.

As the story will go a teleporter accident transports our Black Ranger Zack to an alternate world where the DC heroes reside.
No more of the story has been revealed but you know how these stories go, misunderstanding between heroes, fight begins, common threat forces them to team up for the greater good. But hey would you care if...

At San Diego Comic Con 2016, WB revealed two new characters for the upcoming InJustice 2.
Update: Trailer added
The creative director of NetherRealm Studios studioes, Ed Boon, came to San Diego Comic Con with some surprises up his sleeve, Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle.
The two characters join the already confirmed characters including Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Atrocitus, Supergirl, and Gorilla Grodd. While wonder Woman was mostly a given, it was cool to see Blue Beetle be included.
Tom Taylor, the write of the InJustice comics, is returning with the studio as writer of the upcoming game.
During the panel Ed Boon wouldn't confirm nor deny the possibility of Red Hood being added to the roster. He also mentioned that the Suicide Squad could be members of the main cast, or potentially Dlc additions.
We expect the trailer to land shortly and will update this article when it arrives.

Hollywood loves to discover unknown actors and make them stars. In perhaps the most famous example, producer David Selznick took more than two years to select Vivien Leigh to portray Scarlett O'Hara, the iconic heroine of Gone With the Wind. She was almost a complete unknown outside of her home country of England, but thanks to her sterling performance, she quickly become a star in Hollywood. In 1996, little known Matthew McConaughey landed a leading role in A Time to Kill and quickly established himself as a big star, just three years after his notable yet tiny part in Dazed and Confused. It has been awhile since we've seen Ethan Van Sciver's pencils on a Green Lantern book, but with Edge of Oblivion he makes his welcome return. Alongside scribe Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us), the six issue miniseries will follow the remnants of the Green Lantern Corp right after the events of Lost Army. No one, and I mean no one, draws a more kick ass version of Guy Gardner than Van Sciver, and I'm so happy to see him on the book. The way he visually interprets the different lantern constructs is just so inventive, and it really allows their powers to leap off the page. You can see some of the covers for the series as well as one of the interior pages down below.
