If all you knew about Francis Ford Coppola’s epic-scale 1982 musical “One from the Heart” was that it’s reportedly “brain food” for the “Joker” sequel “Folie à Deux”, you might think it was more successful. Coppola’s first film after a decade-long run that included two “Godfathers,” “Apocalypse Now,” and “The Conversation” is a nostalgic musical about two ordinary people trying to rekindle their romance on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
A kitsch throwback in the vein of “New York, New York,” it was an even bigger disaster, and ultimately more ruinous for its director. Costing nearly twice its initial $15 million budget (admittedly not a terrible ratio for Coppola), it grossed only $8 million. Within 18 months, Coppola’s studio was bankrupt and, by 1992, he’d filed for a third time.

Making its debut in April of 1990, Twin Peaks arrived on ABC’s doorstep as a kind of Trojan horse, infiltrating the network disguised as a weekly melodrama while hiding its arthouse inclinations behind a Peyton Place exterior. While Damien Chazelle predictably took the DGA Award for “La La Land” on Saturday night, the ASC rejected the self-reverential Hollywood musical in favor of the more dramatic and politically impactful “Lion,” honoring Australian cinematographer Greig Fraser. “Lion” director Garth Davis took home Best First Director at the DGAs.
However, “La La Land’s” cinematographer, Linus Sandgren, still remains the Oscar favorite, despite the fact that, in the last 20 years, the ASC winner has taken the Academy Award 11 times.
With “Lion,” the incredibly true story of Saroo Brierley (Dev Patel), the Indian who used Google Earth to locate his birth family several decades after his separation and adoption in Australia, Fraser essentially made two movies in one. Fortunately, the top Camerimage prize winner had previous experience shooting in India.

A box-office failure, David Lynch's Fire Walk With Me divided critics in 1992. James looks back at a surreal cult film...
When Vincent Canby famously described Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (1992) as "…not the worst movie ever made; it just seems to be," the renowned Us critic was merely reflecting the overwhelming response to David Lynch’s big-screen prequel to his recently cancelled TV show.
Audibly jeered by the notoriously fickle festival crowd at its unveiling in Cannes, even fellow filmmakers joined the chorus of disapproval against Lynch.
At the festival for the first time with his debut feature, Reservoir Dogs, director Quentin Tarantino went so far as to say: "I’m not ragging on other people, but after I saw Fwwm […] David Lynch has disappeared so far up his own ass that I have no desire to watch another […] Lynch film until I hear something different.

Actor's reprisal of Han Solo role in forthcoming Star Wars sequels is 'done deal', according to Latino News blogger
Harrison Ford has committed to appear as Han Solo in the forthcoming series of Star Wars films to be produced by Disney, according to a "scoop" reported on Fox News Latino. Latino News columnist Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzalez told interview Victor Garcia: "Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars movies. The deal is done. It's huge."
Gonzalez claimed he had "triple checked" his "legitimate sources", and could not say whether Ford's role would be a small cameo or something larger – or even whether he would appear in Star Wars Episode VII, the forthcoming film to be directed by Jj Abrams.
Another insider-scoop blogger, Roger Friedman of showbiz411.com, agreed with Gonzalez, asserting that he was "told some time ago that Ford, Carrie Fisher...

Good morning cool kids!
What’s poppin’?
Star Wars, man!
I still can’t believe there is going to be another another trilogy.
I’m not going to lie, I was one of those who were of the opinion that all the recent Star Wars news was a tad overkill. I wanted to disconnect my internet until 2015.
I thought lots of folks felt the same way I did.
Boy was I wrong.
I took an informal twitter poll and asked my followers if they wanted Star Wars scoops. The response was overwhelming. Even my inbox got bombed like never before.
Man, y’all really want Star Wars scoops!
After trying to avoid the circus, I’m now smack dab right in the middle of it.
So like a Corellian smuggler I went on the prowl and I came up with something Big.
How big?

Let’s face it; despite featuring Keifer Sutherand, Director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes remake) and some brutal, creative death sequences, the 2008 remake was an overblown mess of a horror film. Even Sutherland hilariously pulling a gun on a nun couldn’t raise it above mediocrity.
So a sequel (Mirrors 2), minus the talents of Sutherland, Aja, and with a story completely unrelated to the first film, was looking to be quite the grim affair. Naturally, I just had to watch it.

It's been six years since we last encountered Pinhead and his band of merry Cenobites, but they are soon returning, for better or worse, in this series' ninth movie, Hellraiser: Revelations. I think it's safe to say that the only revelations to be had here are that this movie is bad and this franchise should be put out of our misery.
Written and directed by Clive Barker, the first Hellraiser wasn't a game-changing film, but it was a solid horror flick with an interesting narrative and some cool visuals…well, cool for 1987 anyway. Barker's direction was rather workmanlike, but Hellraiser did what it was supposed to do — enough so that I looked forward to a second installment. But then Hellbound: Hellraiser II came along and our romance was over. But that didn't stop six more little Hellraisers from appearing.

Dimension Films has shared a deleted scene (via Bloody-Disgusting) from the Victor Garcia-directed ninth entry in the long-running series, Hellraiser: Revelations. Opening in limited release September 2nd, the day after its Video-On-Demand premiere. Much has been made about this non-Doug Bradley starring sequel, from the odd photos of the new Pinhead to the nature of why it exists to Clive Barker disowning it.
Check out this deleted scene, if you dare/care:
Plenty of talking. Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to try to survive by swapping himself with someone else. Once they go missing, family members go in search of them, but find Pinhead instead. It’ll also be on DVD October 18th as part of the Dimension Films Extreme label.

Dimension Extreme is really pushing out Hellraiser: Revelations, the Victor Garcia-directed sequel that will open in limited theaters September 2, with a VOD launch on September 1. The gates of Hell will then open on DVD October 18. Already having shared with you guys the trailer, poster and handful of stills, Bloody now scored an exclusive deleted scene that features a bum explaining that the Lament Configuration will bring these kids the ultimate experience. It gets a little long in the tooth, with some gnarly acting, which is probably why it was trimmed. Starring Steven Brand as the new Pinhead, alongside Daniel Buran, Jolene Andersen, Nick Eversman, Stephen Smith Collins and Jay Gillespie, "Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to try to survive by swapping himself with someone else. In a cinematic landscape where the only horror films currently being greenlit by studios are remakes, you'd think that a brand new Hellraiser sequel would be a sight for sore eyes. And indeed, it probably would have been, if original writer/director Clive Barker had been involved in any way. Unfortunately, this is now the ninth film in the series and it was directed by Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2, Return to House on Haunted Hill) and written by Gary J. Tunnicliffe (Megalodon, Guardian). It looks like direct-to-video fare all the way, and to make matters worse, it's the first Hellraiser movie that doesn't star Doug Bradley as Pinhead. Word on the street is that The Weinstein Company threw this thing together just so they could retain the rights to the franchise. Clive Barker himself is none too pleased by the project; he recently tweeted, "I want to put on record...

If you knew it was happening at all, your expectations for the ninth instalment in the original Hellraiser franchise may have been somewhat low. Prepare to drop them further, if you dare to take a look at the trailer for Hellraiser: Revelations. To recap, this is a stopgap release from Dimension, to prevent their rights lapsing before Patrick Lussier can get going on his reboot, which ought to be a bigger deal. Revelations was knocked together in record time on a tiny budget (estimated at under a million bucks), circumstances it's apparently attempted to get around by going the found-footage route to some extent. Sadly, on this evidence, it still plays like a fan film, an impression not helped by Stefan Smith Collins' karaoke Pinhead. Doug Bradley, probably wisely, wasn't interested.Nick Eversman (Vampires Suck) and Jay Gillespie (2001 Maniacs) star as Steve and Nico, backpackers in Mexico looking for dodgy new experiences and,...

Ouch.
So, there’s been all sorts of confusion and drama on the latest Dtv sequel, Hellraiser: Revelations, coming to VOD on September 1st, then on DVD October 18th. First, fans were confused as if this was going to be the rumored remake or a direct sequel to the long-running series. Then, Doug Bradley confirmed, for the first time that he will not reprise the character of Pinhead, which immediately outraged fans.
From here, lots of hush-hush from the filming, followed by a sneaky limited theatrical run, which lasted like two weeks in L.A., and now, probably the most hilarious thing of all, is that Clive Barker took to Twitter to announce his final thoughts on the 9th film:
“Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flick out there using the word Hellraiser Is No F*Ckin’ Child Of Mine!” he screams via Twitter. “I...

One of the reason why we love Clive Barker so much around these parts is because of how outspoken he is. Need an example? Wait until you see his latest hilarious comments about the upcoming sequel Hellraiser: Revelations!
"Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flick out there using the word Hellraiser Is No Fuckin' Child Of Mine!" he screams via Twitter. "I have Nothing to do with the fuckin' thing. If they claim it's from the mind of Clive Barker, it's a lie. It's not even from my butt-hole."
Hellraiser: Revelations (review here), directed by Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2), stars Steven Brand, Daniel Buran, Jolene Andersen, Nick Eversman, Stephen Smith Collins, and Jay Gillespie.
Look for it on VOD and in limited theatres on September 1st followed by a DVD and Blu-ray release on October 18th.

Back in 1986 horror author and artist Clive Barker set the world afire with his novella "The Hellbound Heart" which introduced Pinhead to the horror universe. By 1987 he was behind-the-camera directing the infamous Hellraiser that has since spawned several sequels. While Barker had worked briefly on Dimension Films' remake, he has absolutely nothing to do with Hellraiser: Revelations, which arrives in limited theaters and VOD September 1. In fact, he's starting to get agitated by his Twitter followers who think he is... "Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flic out there using the word Hellraiser Is No Fuckin' Child Of Mine!" he screams via Twitter. "I have Nothing to do with the fuckin' thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker,it's a lie. It's not even from my butt-hole." Victor Garcia directed the new incarnation of Cenobites.

When Hellraiser: Revelations was announced, everyone questioned why a sequel was being made. The bottom line is that Dimension needed to hold on to the Hellraiser rights for a remake, and, in order to do so, the company quickly moved forward on a low-budget ninth film. This new entry, hitting theaters in a limited theatrical run September 1, was directed by Victor Garcia and written by Gary Tunnicliffe (with a few other uncredited writers, we're told). Hellraiser creator, Clive Barker, took too Twitter to make something clear: "Hello, my friends. I want to put on record that the flic [sic] out there using the word Hellraiser is no fuckin' child of mine," he told his followers, adding in his own colorful way, "I have nothing to do with the fuckin' thing....

The ninth film in the Hellraiser film series is set to move to DVD shelves October 18th and now the first trailer for this feature is available. Actor Doug Bradley has played Pinhead, the central antagonist, in the previous eight films, but he declined to participate in this latest film, titled Hellraiser: Revelations, after reading the script (Bradley). The short shoot time of two weeks also signals a possible rush to complete the film by Puzzlebox Films, which has no other titles attached to its name. Horror fans and Hellraiser fans can take a look at the clip here, which involves a late night at a bar, a bum, a box, and a bumbling line or two.
As well, Dimension Extreme will distribute this title. Other films released from this American film distributor include several sequels such as Feast II: Sloppy Seconds, Feast III: The Happy Finish, Pulse 2: Afterlife,...

Synopsis - Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to try to survive by swapping himself with someone else. Once they go missing, family members go in search of them but find Pinhead instead. Pinhead makes his return to the silver screen, but that isn't quite the quality I was hoping or expecting. Obviously this is a low budget production, and doesn't seem worthy of the title, "Hellraiser." Hellraiser: Revelations, directed by Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2), stars Steven Brand, Daniel Buran, Jolene Andersen, Nick Eversman, Stephen Smith Collins, and Jay Gillespie. On VOD and in limited theaters September. On DVD and Blu-ray October 18th.

Here's your first look a the new Hellraiser: Revelations horror film. To be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the Hellraiser franchise. I've seen many of the films, but they aren't movies that I find myself watching over and over again. I saw the original film when I was young, and it freakin' jacked me up. As for this new film, I'm sure I'll eventually see it, but I'm in no rush.

Dimension Extreme continues to flirt with disaster in their latest release Hellraiser: Revelations. This is the ninth Hellraiser film and the first to not have actor Doug Bradley in the lead role of Pinhead. All nine films are based on Clive Barker's novel The Hellbound Heart.
