Guy Ritchie has already set up his next film, reportedly titled Wife & Dog. More on the project below.
Guy Ritchie, Hollywood’s busiest man, is already setting up his next film. World Of Reel reports that Ritchie’s next film will be called Wife & Dog. The film is heading to the Cannes market in the hopes it’ll find more backing there.
That’s all we really know at this point. World Of Reel mentions that the film is said to tackle the subject of class like his recent Netflix TV show The Gentlemen loosely based on a true story – the top secret Operation Postmaster.
The Snatch director is quickly gaining a reputation as the hardest working filmmaker in Hollywood. In the last five years, Ritchie has released six films and a TV show. He’s also currently filming Fountain Of Youth with Natalie Portman and John Krasinski.

Michael Head stars in this less than convincing story of a London crime lord and his associates
There was a period in the Cool Britannia days when you couldn’t throw a brick at a cinema in the UK without hitting a British gangster movie with a castful full of dodgy geezers blagging their way around an underground scene full of drugs and farfetched capers. Some were ludicrously entertaining creations of actual working-class talent, such as Nick Love’s The Business, others transcended genre pigeonholing to work their way into various top critics’ lists (such as Jonathan Glazer’s Sexy Beast), and still others were Guy Ritchie movies. There were hundreds of less high-profile efforts too, destined for VHS or DVD, but each having somehow found funding.
These days the British gangster flick is no longer flavour of the week, or month, and there’s something appealingly bullish about attempts to make these films now.

Jerry Seinfeld’s highly touted (and largely panned) feature directorial debut, “Unfrosted,” spent four days leading Netflix’s top 10 movie chart before another Netflix original, “Mother of the Bride” starring Brooke Shields, took the slot before the thematically appropriate weekend holiday.
“Unfrosted” led for just four days, with “Shrek” from 2001 leading midweek before the debut of “Bride.” The Dreamworks animated classic is still in second place, while Seinfeld’s Pop-Tarts comedy dropped to fourth.
“Bride” comes from director Mark Waters. Perhaps best known for his “Freaky Friday” remake and the original “Mean Girls,” Waters went on to direct “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” “Vampire Academy,” and “Bad Santa 2.” In the new rom-com, Shields is a mom who realizes the father of her future son-in-law broke her heart decades ago.

One of the latest obsessions of viewers around the world is Guy Ritchie's “gentlemen” universe. Starting with 2019's The Gentlemen, and of course the new series of the same name that was released on Netflix in 2024, the stories of morally ambiguous men in nice suits drive the audience crazy.
However, it seems that these two projects weren’t enough for the director, so he decided to create another flick with a gentleman-esque vibe in the title. We are talking about the 2024 movie called The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
The first question that comes to the minds of all potential viewers was whether the movie is in any way connected to the already existing universe of The Gentlemen? All three installments were created by the British director Guy Ritchie, but if the two previous Gentlemen share “one DNA,” the new movie is not quite their buddy.

While in the middle of filming his latest mystery film, Fountain of Youth, Guy Ritchie is revealing another film project, Wife and Dog. Ritchie’s 18th feature hails from Black Bear, who launches Wife and Dog at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival event. Plot details about Wife and Dog remain a mystery, though Variety hears Ritchie is returning to the shady world of British Aristocracy for this anticipated feature. Cameras roll for Wife and Dog in October, with top-tier Hollywood actors negotiating for starring roles.
Like many of Ritchie’s film projects, he’s writing the screenplay and producing alongside his production partner, Ivan Atkinson, and Black Bear’s John Friedberg. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler of Black Bear executive produce.
As Cannes revs up for another competitive year, Ritchie is rolling cameras for Fountain of Youth, a mystery written by James Vanderbilt, starring Eiza González, Natalie Portman, John Krasinski,...

A new Guy Ritchie project is launching at the Cannes market with Black Bear.
Plot details are being kept under wraps and casting is in process but Wife And Dog will deal with class in a similar vein to recent Netflix TV series The Gentlemen.
Ritchie is coming off the starry action-comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare as well as The Gentlemen. Apple pic Fountain Of Youth is in production and Black Bear project In The Grey is in post.
Warfare is the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced war movie starring Henry Cavill (Superman), Eiza González (Baby Driver), Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Henrique Zaga (Beyond The Universe), Alex Pettyfer, Cary Elwes (Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre), Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After franchise), Babs Olusanmokun and Til Schweiger. Black Bear was also in on that one.

Guy Ritchie has another film in the works that doubles down on the British upper class.
The prolific director — already behind this year’s Netflix hit “The Gentlemen” and WWII action thriller “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” — has unveiled his 18th feature film, “Wife and Dog,” with Black Bear launching sales in Cannes.
Plot details and cast are currently being kept under wraps, but Variety hears that with the film, Ritchie will return to the colorful, back-stabbing world of British aristocracy that he explored in both “The Gentlemen” Netflix series and 2019 feature. “Wife and Dog” will shoot in October, with an A-list cast reportedly in negotiations to star.
Ritchie wrote the screenplay and produces alongside long-time producing partner Ivan Atkinson and Black Bear’s John Friedberg. Executive producers include Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler for Black Bear.

Jason Statham is someone who is admirably unpretentious and genuinely grateful for his success, and within that, he has a definite preference of films that can predominantly define his career. Earlier this year, Statham was seen in The Beekeeper, a seemingly usual action B-movie fare with the star, but the movie from Suicide Squad director David Ayer would throw in some bold conceptual curve balls to the normal vengeance tale. Deadline has now reported that Statham will be working with director Baltasar Kormákur for his next action film.
Kormákur’s resume features such credits as Contraband, 2 Guns, Everest and the recent Idris Elba lion attack film, Beast. According to Deadline, “In the currently untitled pic, Statham will play Mason who lives in isolation in a remote Scottish island. When he rescues a young girl from the ocean in a terrible storm, he sets a chain of events in motion...

No Time To Die’s Cary Joji Fukunaga is to direct 77 Blackout, with Mahershala Ali and Tom Hardy set to star.
The Cannes FIlm Festival launches this week, which means there are plenty of new projects popping up as they head to the event in search of buyers.
One such film is 77 Blackout, a heist thriller that boasts the twin talents of Mahershala Ali and Tom Hardy. Cary Joji Fukunaga, the director of No Time To Die – and the mind behind the acclaimed first season of True Detective – will helm the film.
Add in a 1970s period setting and a fun twist on the heist formula and this one really might be something special. So what is the twist? Multiple heists from multiple criminal organisations, all in one night.
Here’s the synopsis, via Deadline:
‘Set in 1977, five rogue police officers formulate a plan to rob three criminal strongholds – the Hong Kong Triads,...

“The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” is a high-octane movie directed by the incomparable Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill alongside Eiza González. It promises a thrilling ride through a World War II narrative equipped with all the hallmarks of a classic Ritchie production: meticulously crafted style, unapologetic irony, and cinematic excellence.
Much like Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” (2009), “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” delivers a delectable mix of entertainment and popcorn fun without leaving a lasting mark. Yet, it doesn’t intend to break new ground or redefine Ritchie’s well-established directorial approach. Instead, it confirms his unparalleled ability to balance pace and polish the rough edges of his ‘rogue’ characters with an undeniable elegance.
Though “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” may fade from memory once the credits roll, it leaves an undeniably sweet aftertaste, making it a solid recommendation for a crowd-pleasing watch.

Ever wonder what it'd look like if a World War II drama was filtered through director Guy Ritchie's sensibilities? There isn't a single piece of generative AI tech out there that could possibly have come up with the result of "Casablanca" by way of "Inglourious Basterds," with a scene-stealing performance from Alan Ritchson, to boot. "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" perhaps wasn't the most Guy Ritchie film we've ever received, but it certainly was an entertaining enough way to spend an afternoon at the movies as the ensemble cast of stars pummeled Nazis for a solid two hours. Based on true historical events as depicted in the book "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill's Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops," the action-comedy took a much more irreverent tone to the overall story of the first black ops mission in modern warfare.

While Guy Ritchie’s brand new movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare isn’t doing as well as everybody wished in the box office, a real lifesaver has already come to the director’s rescue.
Four years after its theatrical release, Ritchie’s action comedy hit The Gentlemen is finally available to stream on Netflix — and the timing for the movie’s arrival couldn’t be better.
Having a star-studded cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Hugh Grant, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong and many others, the film follows American cannabis wholesaler Michael ‘Mickey’ Pearson who seeks to sell his weed empire so that he and his wife Rosalind, portrayed by Michelle Dockery, could spend the rest of their life carelessly.

Henry Cavill has starred in multiple action films in his career and has even performed many of his own stunts. The actor starred in two action comedies this year alone, featuring in Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle and Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which saw him return to his action hero persona.
The Superman star also featured in Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018, which saw trade blows with Tom Cruise. The latter, who is known for performing dangerous stunts on his own reportedly inspired Cavill to do so on the sets of the film. However, he had to go through one obstacle before he was allowed to perform one iconic stunt that the Cruise-led franchise is known for.

Giancarlo Esposito’s wish to join Marvel Studios finally came true but not as Professor X with his dream version without the iconic character’s wheelchair. The actor has been, with many of his recent cool appearances including Guy Ritchie’s action comedy, The Gentlemen, climbing up the ladder of popularity since his iconic portrayal of Gus Fring in Breaking Bad.
Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian
Recently, Esposito confirmed that he is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the role of the actor remained undisclosed. Madonna, the iconic “Queen of Pop,” stands at a height of 5ft 3 ¼ inches (160.7 cm) with a peak height of 5ft 4 inches (162.6 cm).

The Impact of Height in Celebrity Self-Perception: Madonna’s Perspective
She once mentioned feeling like a “shrimp” in an interview due to her height, although she believed it was average. For context, the average American woman typically has a height of around 5 feet 4 inches.
I’ve always wanted to be taller. I feel like a shrimp, but that’s the way it goes. I’m five-foot four-and-a-half-inches – that’s actually average. Everything about me is average. Everything’s normal, in the books. It’s the things inside me that make me not average.

Kerry Condon (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), William H. Macy and Clifton Collins Jr. have joined director Clint Bentley’s “Train Dreams,” Variety has learned.
Production on the film, from Black Bear and also starring Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones, began earlier this month in Spokane, Wash.
“Train Dreams” is the sweeping and poignant tale of Robert Grainier (Edgerton), a day laborer employed as a logger helping to expand the railways across America. Forced to spend prolonged periods of time away from his wife, Gladys (Jones), and their young daughter, Grainier struggles to make sense of his place in a rapidly changing world. As his story unfolds, he experiences great love, unspeakable loss, and unique bonds on a journey that is both distinct and universal. The picture features a script by Bentley and Greg Kwedar (“Sing Sing”), which is adapted from Denis Johnson’s iconic, Pulitzer Prize-nominated novella of the same name.

Tom Cruise has time and again proved that age is nothing but a number. Even though the actor has entered his sixties and will be turning 62 this year, he has managed to retain his youthfulness. Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018)
The question here though, is whether Tom Cruise’s exceptional good looks are just because he unlocked the gene lottery, or did he have some work done on his face to give him that youthful look? The past two weekends at the box office have been, in a word, miserable. Yes, "Challengers" won this most recent frame with a $15 million opening, but the total take for the weekend domestically was just over $60 million. Last weekend, when "Abigail" and Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" underperformed, the weekend total was barely above $65 million. When total ticket sales for a weekend are less than what would be a so-so opening weekend for a summer blockbuster, things are dire. Fortunately, there are a couple of bright spots among the darkness.
On its fifth weekend in theaters, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" pulled in $7.2 million domestically, dropping just 25% from weekend four. It held the number three spot on the charts behind this weekend's newcomers, "Challengers" and "Unsung Hero" ($7.75 million). That was also enough to bring it past the $500 million mark globally. Filmmaker Guy Ritchie is known for his diverse portfolio, spanning action thrillers, spy tales, and period mysteries over his extensive career. However, the distinct approach is not limited to the movie genres only, as seen in his approach to crafting the script for his debut feature, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Spoiler alert: the film is not "Swept Away."
Given the filmmaking tear that Guy Ritchie has been on of late, the notion of scribbling out screenplays on napkins isn't terribly wild. Since 2021, he's plopped four movies in theaters, with a fifth on the way in 2025. Okay, guys like Steven Spielberg and Woody Allen have worked at a similarly furious clip for stretches of their careers, but Ritchie's flurry of films is peculiar because they're the kinds of star-studded B-movies that Hollywood doesn't make anymore. And he seems to be having a ball making them ... though audiences aren't exactly turning out in droves to watch them.
While Ritchie, like the vast majority of screenwriters, prefers to bang out his scripts on a computer, there was a time when he employed a less conventional approach. He wasn't as prolific at this point of his career, and there was a very good reason for this.

Guy Ritchie has been maintaining a consistent success rate with his films ever since his debut with Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. However, his recent ventures like The Covenant and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare have not fared well at the box office. The situation seems to be similar for the Russo brothers post their hit Marvel run.
Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin was a big hit for Disney in 2019
Their non-Marvel projects like Cherry and The Gray Man have not resonated with audiences. The Russos and Ritchie are returning to Disney for the live-action adaptation of Hercules. As expected, Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers scored an easy win this weekend, with a $15 million weekend, just a touch softer than we predicted earlier this week. The tennis-cantered love triangle was no doubt boosted by Zendaya’s star power, with her hotter than ever in the wake of Dune: Part Two’s blockbuster showing this winter. IMAX screens were dominated by Zendaya in one form or another, with both Challengers and Dune 2 playing in the format this weekend thanks to the latter’s re-release.
Notably, the film posted Guadagnino’s best box office opening to date, with the weekend total more than doubling the total take of his previous biggest opener, Bones and All. It’ll be interesting to see if Challengers can hold up in the coming weeks, with The Fall Guy opening next weekend and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes opening the weekend after. With...

With ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’, Guy Ritchie returns to his storytelling roots, reminiscent of his earlier works like ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’. This film, while standing on the familiar ground of high-stakes, artistically violent narratives, uses a historically inspired backdrop unlike any other. A high-octane blend of fact and fiction dazzles as Ritchie applies his signature quick cuts and gritty aesthetic to the murky waters of WWII espionage. Rooted in True WWII Espionage Inspired by the real-life operations of Britain’s Special Operations Executive (Soe), known for their unorthodox warfare strategies during World War II, ‘The

Over the past few months, Netflix has been busy treating its audience to new big-budget projects, from the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen to the much-hyped 3 Body Problem and Ripley with Andrew Scott. But as high-profile as Netflix's premieres are, they seem to pale in comparison to what competing streaming services are offering.
According to numerous data and statistics, a large number of American households have recently preferred platforms such as Hulu and Max, thanks to the regular addition of acclaimed full-length new releases, or Prime Video, especially thanks to the recent hit Fallout.
In such a context, it is particularly surprising that among all the movies and TV series on numerous streaming services, one of the leaders is the movie directed by Matthew Vaughn, Argylle, released earlier this year. Although the movie had a lot of hype even before its release thanks...

Guy Ritchie is one of the most recognizable British auteurs, thanks to his bold narratives that are a kind of Quentin Tarantino-esque stories framed by British humor and set in a British working-class and criminal milieu.
However, despite his colossal contribution to pop culture, which rivals that of the aforementioned Tarantino, Guy Ritchie's films are far from box office success. While many of his films have indeed made huge sums of money at the worldwide box office, there are also plenty of absolute commercial failures despite warm reviews from audiences, such as RocknRolla, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the recent The Covenant.
The same seems to be the case with Ritchie's new big screen project, the feature length film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Although it was released less than a week ago, the box office numbers are far from reassuring, but the movie...

This past weekend was, without a doubt, one that several studios and pretty much every movie theater around the country (and much of the world for that matter) would like to forget. Several new releases hit theaters, including Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," as well as Crunchroll's latest anime film, "Spy x Family Code: White." It was, however, Universal Pictures' horror/comedy "Abigail" that was the most high-profile release of the bunch. While the film did perform better than the other debuts, it fell well short of expectations and further cemented a point that has been quietly lingering for some time: Vampires are not generally good for business these days.
"Abigail" opened to just $10.2 million, coming in second place over the weekend to Alex Garland's "Civil War," which pulled in $11.1 million in its second frame. Overall, it was one of the worst weekends at the box office in 2024 to date.

Guy Ritchie has directed everything from low-budget hits like the crime caper "Snatch" to the $1 billion monster hit that was 2019's live-action "Aladdin" remake. But the director has also been behind some pretty big misfires, most notably 2017's "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword." Ritchie has been on a tear lately though, releasing three movies in theaters over the last 13 months. Unfortunately for the filmmaker and all involved, every single one of those movies has disappointed -- if not outright flopped -- at the box office.
This past weekend saw the release of "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" in theaters in the U.S. Released by Lionsgate, the World War II film took in just $8.9 million, placing fourth on the charts behind "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" ($9.5 million), which was in its fourth weekend. That's a relatively lousy start for a movie with a $60 million production budget. Granted, Lionsgate...
