Scott Calvin's reign on The Santa Clauses may not be ending as planned.
Disney+ made a shocking announcement this week:
The Santa Clauses will return for Season 2!
“This franchise has had a lasting impact for so many families, truly becoming part of their annual holiday traditions,” Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said in a statement.
“Bringing it back as a series has been a true gift, and I’m grateful to our producing partners at 20th Television and, of course, Tim Allen and team, that we have yet another reason to celebrate this holiday season.”
The news is somewhat surprising. Before the series was even picked up, reports stated it would be a limited series revival that would seemingly bring Tim Allen's alter ego full circle.
Now, it sounds like there will be plenty of Scott and his family on the agenda because we're getting a full-fledged second season.

The Santa Clause franchise brings back Eric Lloyd as Scott’s son Charlie (aka Sport) in Episode 2 of the Disney+ sequel series — a return that ultimately proves short-lived. But Charlie’s cameo is not-at-all insignificant. In fact, it’s a conversation shared between father and son that leads Scott to make a pretty drastic change.
When Scott arrives in Florida to visit with Charlie, he is already considering hanging up his red suspenders. The time has come to find a successor, and Scott believes that Charlie is the heir apparent.

If you’ve spent the last 28 years wondering about the logistics of Santa Claus falling off of a man’s roof and that man suddenly becoming Santa Claus, Disney+ is here to finally bring you some peace, some answers and a little bit of Christmas joy.
“The Santa Clauses” essentially serves as the fourth movie in the Disney franchise, a delightful six-episode series that catches up with the Calvin-Claus family 28 years after Scott (Tim Allen) first put on the suit and reluctantly became the big guy. While Santa is beloved by all the elves at the North Pole, his magic is beginning to fade. He’s losing weight, and Mrs. Claus (Elizabeth Mitchell) is struggling with her lack of a first name or personality. Their son Cal (Austin Kane) plays VR games of regular domestic life, and daughter Sandra’s (Elizabeth Allen-Dick) only real friends are animals. When head elf...

It’s not quite Christmastime yet, but Santa Claus is coming to town — or at least, Disney+ — this week. Tim Allen is suiting up once more in “The Santa Clauses,” and he’s flanked by some beloved characters from the original films. That said, Allen admits you won’t see everyone you know.
In the new series, the first two episodes of which premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, we find Santa Claus, a.k.a. Scott Calvin, on the brink of turning 65. Realizing he can’t be Santa forever, he decides it’s time to retire, and give his kids a life in the real world. Elizabeth Mitchell returns as Mrs. Claus for the series, after first appearing in “The Santa Clause 2.”
But, it seems Mitchell is the only sequel character that will be in the series — at least for now.

Plot: Scott Calvin is back! After being Santa Claus for nearly thirty years, he’s as jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic. Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family. Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband.

"All those kids turned into adults, they stopped believing." Disney has revealed an official trailer for The Santa Clauses, the latest Santa Clause revival continuing the story from the other sequels. I'm sure most of you will remember the original movie, The Santa Clause, released in 1994 becoming an instant classic. Disney followed that up two other sequels, in 2002 and 2006, neither of which were any good. Now 28 years later they're bringing back the original Scott Calvin, played by Tim Allen, for yet another new Santa Clause "movie" - but this time it's a mini-series for streaming on Disney+. More content to serve to the streaming subscribers. The plot: Calvin is about to turn 65 and needs to find the next Santa. But he chooses the wrong guy. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a...

Tim Allen is busting out his white beard. The actor stars as Saint Nick himself in the first trailer for Disney+ series “The Santa Clauses.”
The show serves as a follow-up to the “Santa Clause” Christmas series, which released three films between 1994 and 2006. Allen starred in each film as Scott Calvin, a toy salesman who accidentally causes the death of Santa Claus and is roped into becoming the holiday icon’s successor. Later sequels saw Scott gain a Mrs. Claus in Carol Newman (played by Elizabeth Mitchell) and battle Jack Frost (Martin Short). Although the sequels received increasingly negative reviews as the series went on, all three movies were box-office successes and are now seasonal classics.
“The Santa Clauses” sees Allen and Mitchell reprise their roles, as well as Eric Lloyd as Scott’s son Charlie and David Krumholtz as Bernard, the head elf of the North Pole. The limited series finds Scott,...

D23 isn’t just for Marvel, Star Wars and Indiana Jones. It’s also there to put you in the holiday mood! Over the weekend at the packed D23 Expo, the first footage of the upcoming series The Santa Clauses was revealed.
The short teaser for The Santa Clauses–which was announced earlier this year–continues the saga of Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) by actually ending it. Starting to age out of the role, Calvin announces his retirement from the role.
In The Santa Clauses teaser, he tells a room of devastated elves, “For the good of Christmas, for the good of my family, I, Santa Claus, have decided to retire.” From there, we see him begin the audition process, with a rather amusing cameo from NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, who retired in 2016 and is apparently having trouble paying the bills.

Remember the kid who played Tim Allen's son in 1994's The Santa Clause? The bowl-cut cutie was named Charlie Calvin in the film and was played by actor Eric Lloyd. He was just 8-years-old at the time the film was released and yet he managed to totally captivate our attention with his hilarious one-liners and sweet daddy-son moments with Tim, who played Scott Calvin. In fact, when Scott accidentally killed Santa Clause (we know, a little dark for a Christmas movie) and subsequently took on his duties at the North Pole, Charlie was one of the only people to believe in him. We watched Charlie grow up a bit in the film's sequels—The Santa Clause 2 and 3—and help his dad through the...

17 years ago today, long before we knew the Force would have an awakening in 2015, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace brought new tales of a galaxy far, far away to the big screen for the first time since 1983’s Return of the Jedi. It was the beginning of a much-maligned prequel trilogy that would give us Jar Jar Binks, midi-chlorians, and a love story for Anakin Skywalker. (And some good things! Don’t forget podracing! And Darth Maul!) Ultimate backlash didn’t stop audiences eager for a new Star Wars movie from turning out in droves, though: Phantom Menace was 1999’s highest grossing film, and all three prequel films ended up earning over $2.5 billion at the worldwide box office. Revenge of the Sith was also released on the 19th of May. Today marks 11 years since the prequel conclusion hit theaters worldwide, after premiering at – believe it or not – the Cannes Film Festival.

The holidays are finally upon us, and in celebration we're posting five fun facts about our favorite festive flicks.Today's featured film is the 1994 Christmas classic, "The Santa Clause." Check out the gallery below to see what young star Eric Lloyd (left) looks like today!1. It was a big deal to have Tim Allen starring in a Disney movie, as the company has a history of not hiring ex-cons. Allen had a drug charge from the '70s, but they made an exception after seeing the positive reaction to Tim on "Home Improvement." He'd work with Disney again on the "Toy Story" films.2. In the 1995 VHS version of the film, Tim Allen made a sarcastic remark, "1-800-spank-me," to hisex-wife. The scene was taken out of the later movie releases because a mom complained it wasa real sex hotline number. Her child had called it and racked up a massive phone bill!

Christmas is coming early!
Among the ever-growing list of classic movies celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, which includes Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Little Rascals, and Little Giants – we can now add our first Christmas movie to the list, The Santa Clause!
Watch: On Set with 'Pulp Fiction' 20 Years Ago
The film stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, a divorced father of his 6-year-old son Charlie, portrayed by Eric Lloyd. Though initially distant, Charlie and his father are drawn closer than ever through a series of events that force Scott to take on his new position as Santa Clause.
"The movie's about a little boy and his dad that aren't very close, and one night they go on a great adventure to the North Pole," 8-year-old Eric Lloyd told Et. "Then they get to the next Christmas, and they're very close."

A Disney movie in the old style, in which divorced Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has his little son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) back for Christmas Eve and tries to bolster the kid's belief in Santa, which is being destroyed by his stepfather (Judge Reinhold). What Scott isn't prepared for is the real Santa falling to his death after making a pancake landing on his roof, and Scott becoming the next Santa. Allen gamely ho-ho-hos and there's a lot to enjoy in a seasonal yarn that spawned to sequels.

The Santa Clause 2
Directed by Michael Lembeck
Written by Don Rhymer, Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio, Ed Decter, John J. Strauss
Starring Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, Spencer Breslin, David Krumholtz, Judge Reinhold, Eric Lloyd
Why wait eight years between the original Santa Clause and its follow-up, The Santa Clause 2? This is a question I’ve been asking myself over the last week, before I watched the film for our podcast, during our recording, and now. I didn’t bring it up on the show, because I imagine the question would’ve just floated out into virtual nothingness. But I wonder. The first film opened in November of 1994 to moderate critical acclaim and strong box office returns. I honestly don’t remember how “angry” I might’ve sounded on the podcast last year (Gabe described me as such in our discussion this week), but when my wife puts the original on,...

In the time it took Disney to create the three films in The Santa Clause trilogy, Tim Allen had a whirlwind of a career, becoming a major movie and television star, faltering for a while, and coming back on top with ABC.s Last Man Standing. Like Allen.s career, the three Santa Clause films vary wildly in quality, but they each offer a bellyful of laughs and a family-oriented (and family-friendly) tale that should endear audiences of different ages. The Santa Clause 3-Movie Collection will hit Blu-ray tomorrow and to celebrate, Disney has a clip from each movie to make a case for why the series is better as set. If you can remember all the way back to 1994, the original The Santa Clause tells the origin story of Scott Calvin.s transformation from regular guy to Santa. His son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), is still super cute in this...

The Santa Clause was Tim Allen.s big screen debut, and it quickly became a modern and fun family Christmas classic. It.s yearly replay value meant Disney was down for sequels, and in 2002 and 2006, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause were created. On October 16, fans of the series will be able to own the series in high definition when The Santa Clause 3-Movie collection hits Blu-ray. Each of the heartwarming The Santa Clause movies stars Tim Allen as the jolly man himself. Allen.s Santa is definitely the highlight of each of the movies, but one of the other things the series does well is maintain many of its cast members. Judge Reinhold, Wendy Crewson, and Eric Lloyd show up in each of the movies, and Number.s David Krumholtz plays an elf with pretty wicked ears in the first two. If the...

I was four years old when The Santa Clause first opened in theaters. I can't recall if I first saw the 1994 comedy in theaters or on VHS (remember those?) months later. My older (and favorite) cousin Andi and I would watch The Santa Clause on her annual holiday visit from Dallas to Seguin.
The Santa Clause stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, a thirtysomething divorced father and toy company advertising executive. There's a hilarious scene where Scott is visiting his son Charlie's (Eric Lloyd) elementary school to discuss his job, when he is repeatedly forced to try to explain to another student his job description.
The plot rolls forward. 'Twas the night before Christmas ... and Santa Claus falls off Scott's roof. The end. Or, is it? Scott and Charlie realize the man who appears to be Santa Claus has mysteriously vanished, leaving behind his suit, in which they find a...

Well....it's finally here! The international teaser (see below) for ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 and the film simply looks awesome. I'm not even a fan of the original, but I am anticipating the release of this film.
Plot details are still vague. This brief plot synopsis was available on IMDb, but doesn't really tell viewers anything that they didn't know to begin with.
