Filming is underway on The Possession of Gladstone Manor, the latest film from director K. Asher Levin – whose previous credits include the thriller Dig and the vampire movie Slayers, both of which starred Thomas Jane. Jane appears to be sitting this one out, but the cast does include horror icons Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator) and Lin Shaye (Insidious), as well as Caylee Cowan (Hypnotic), Jesse Metcalf (John Tucker Must Die), Charlotte Kirk (The Reckoning), Darren Weiss (Inside Man), and William Mapother (Blackhat). Production is taking place in Kansas City, utilizing the new Missouri state tax incentives.
Levin wrote The Possession of Gladstone Manor with Danny Matier (The Unborn), working from a story by Addam Bramich. The film has the following synopsis: When Jamie Black discovers her mother has gone missing, she resolves to investigate by applying for the same job her mother held at Gladstone Manor. The Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont opened up about meeting fantastic people in a callous industry like the film industry during a 2014 interview. He hated that the tabloids painted a bad picture of an actor like Tom Cruise without getting the full picture of how he is in real life. Darabont shared that people should ask his good friend Simon Pegg about the kind of human the Mission: Impossible actor was.
The Green Mile director Frank Darabont (right) opened up about Tom Cruise’s one side that tabloids refused to see
Darabont’s positive comments about the actor suggested that he had no bad blood against Cruise for rejecting The Shawshank Redemption. Cruise was one of the frontrunners for the role of Andy Dufresne before Tim Robbins was cast in the film.

One of the biggest upcoming MCU releases is most certainly ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The movie marks several big things. It’s Deadpool’s first foray into the MCU and also the only MCU movie to be released in 2024, in the hopes of restoring at least some of the faith that the fans of the franchise lost in the last several years due to a string of several poorly received movies.
The recently released trailer also confirmed that several old faces from the ‘Deadpool’ and Fox’s ‘X-Men’ franchises are going to be making a return.
According to the latest rounds of rumors, and one synopsis, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ won’t reference only old Fox’s ‘X-Men,’ it’s also going to revisit key moments from phases 1-4 and it’s going to reference The Punisher.

Cocaine Bear surprised everyone with its box office haul. For fans of animal attack movies, this is not a shock. People love animal attack films and can’t get enough of them. I’m not sure if it’s the man vs. nature theme of the films, the animals themselves getting revenge on humans, or just the all-around fun these films bring. No matter what, they are enjoyable for audiences in theaters. There has been a long history of animals attacking humans on film. Some films that are classified as ‘classic’ cinema fall into the animal attack category. We can always use more movies of animals rampaging through humans on the big screen. What are some of the best animal attack movies?

Anne Heche’s son, Homer Laffoon, has revealed that his mother’s estate is currently experiencing financial difficulties and is unable to settle its outstanding debts.
Heche died after a car accident in Los Angeles on August 5, 2022. She was declared legally dead by the state of California on August 12. She was kept on life support temporarily to facilitate organ donation preparations and was subsequently removed from life support two days later.
Laffoon, who oversees Heche’s estate, stated that it is currently “not yet in a condition to be closed” due to its inability to repay pending charges.
The late actress’ estate primarily consists of a modest bank account, royalty payments, residual income from previous projects, a corporation in which Heche was the sole shareholder, an LLC membership interest related to a podcast she helped create and tangible personal property items. Stephen King is pretty much universally considered the best horror writer of all time. Many of his books have been adapted for the screen. But while there are obviously some changes that have to be made when adapting a story for television or film, it's rare that the ending is completely rewritten.
This film is one of those rare examples. But don't worry, we won't spoil the ending for you. You'll want to find out for yourself.
Based on a Stephen King novella
The Mist is a novella first published in 1980. It was part of King's Dark Forces trilogy and focused on Lovecraftian horror, in which fear is based on the unknown. Instead of a single threat to the protagonists, King introduced several different monsters that revealed themselves in different ways.
This was made possible by setting the story in a city shrouded in fog. The story examines how people react in a crisis,...

"This ain't gonna wipe your slate clean..." Vertigo Films has revealed the second official trailer for a gritty crime thriller meets action film titled Bad Hombres, from filmmaker John Stalberg Jr (following Muzzle last year). This one already opened in the US earlier this year (here's the first trailer) and is out now, this is another trailer from the UK distributor. Two undocumented immigrants looking for work take a job digging a hole, only to discover their employers are psychopathic criminals. They become embroiled in a blood bath, with one of them revealing a secret past that just might save them. Bad Hombres stars Diego Tinoco and Hemky Madera as Cesar and Alfonso, respectively, along with Luke Hemsworth, Thomas Jane, Nick Cassavetes, Paul Johansson, with Tyrese Gibson playing "The Man With No Name." This looks rather generic, with a batch of criminals crossing each other and getting into even more trouble,...

Rob Zombie has said that for every one film project of his that moves forward, there are five potential projects that fall by the wayside. We haven’t heard of quite that many unmade Rob Zombie movies, but we have heard of several over the years that never got off the ground… and unfortunately, most of them sounded pretty interesting. A little over a year ago, Zombie had said he didn’t know what his next movie is going to be, but he did know what it’s not going to be: he won’t be continuing his Firefly franchise, and he doesn’t want to make a sequel to The Munsters (which was poorly received). So while he figures out his next cinematic move, we we have put together a list of Rob Zombie Movies We Want To See!

The promotion comes on the back of founders Stuart Ford, chairman and CEO, and Miguel Palos, chief operating office, themselves signing new multi-year agreements late last year.
Since AGC launched in 2018, it has become one of Hollywood’s leading production and financing players, with 41 major film and TV productions under its belt.
In a statement, Ford and Palos said Diaz had been a “hugely influential contributor to the company’s explosive growth.”
They added: “Aside from building a highly respected scripted television operation, in her broader role as chief creative officer she has shaped key decisions on the feature film and unscripted sides of the company, helped kickstart our Family and YA division and has made us...

Stephen King has long been criticized — usually playfully — for his inability to conjure satisfying endings to his ambitious horror tales. This criticism is so widespread that King himself has goofed on it: in Andy Muschietti's 2019 film "It Chapter Two," based on King's 1986 super-novel, James McAvoy plays an author who also notoriously can't finish his stories well. King makes a cameo appearance as a cantankerous thrift shop owner ... who says to McAvoy's face that his endings suck.
Perhaps fittingly, the ending of King's original "It" also sucks. It involves the main characters, all adults, confronting a giant spider monster in a sewer by burrowing into its body and crushing its heart. This confrontation was paralleled by a scene of the same characters as 12-year-olds fleeing the same monster years earlier. King fans will cringe to tell you what happened in the...

Whether you consider The Crow: City of Angels cursed or simply made in bad taste by a studio (Dimension Films) that couldn’t care less, a rewatch more than twenty years later is a real eye-opener in terms of the film as a standalone experience.
I remember being a kid who thought Brandon Lee as The Crow was one of the coolest things I’d ever witnessed in my life. For the record, I still feel that way. For years we donned black and white face makeup on Halloween night. Hell, the wrestler Sting is still doing it. I don’t know how adults reacted to The Crow at the time but I know us eleven-year-olds were rocked by it.
I bring this up because two years later I would leave the theater immensely bummed out after witnessing The Crow: City of Angels.

A scene from Bad Hombres. Credit: Screen Media.
Bad Hombres is a gritty little action drama based in the drug trade and illegal immigration along the US/Mexican border in the dusty southwest. We start with Felix (Diego Tinoco) and his cousin competing for day labor in a Home Depot-type of parking lot. The cousin, who’s been here a while, is showing him how to get by despite his almost complete lack of English. The two get separated, leaving Felix haplessly like a fish out of water. A friendly, chatty Aussie (Liam Hemsworth) approaches and hires him, along with a surly old guy who has a truck, Alfonso (Hemky Madera). The job is doing some digging in the desert, supposedly at his uncle’s ranch.
When they get to the remote location, they’re told to dig a big hole and start shoveling. They soon learn there ain...

Yesterday, we shared a new interview with director Renny Harlin that mostly focuses on his latest film, the action movie The Bricklayer, which was given a theatrical, On Demand, and Digital release earlier this month. But the interview also branches out with mentions of other Harlin projects, including the 1999 shark thriller Deep Blue Sea (watch it Here), which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. During his conversation with JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray, Harlin revealed that Samuel L. Jackson’s character – and therefore the famous scene involving that character – was added into the script at the last minute.
Harlin said, “The whole scene has its roots in the fact that I had done Long Kiss Goodnight with Sam, and we sort of made a pact that we would always work together as often as we can. So then Deep Blue Sea came up and Sam called me and he’s like,...

"Welcome to the land of opportunity." Screen Media Films has unveiled an official trailer for a gritty crime thriller, action film titled Bad Hombres, the latest from filmmaker John Stalberg Jr (following Muzzle last year). This premiered at the 2023 Mammoth Film Festival, where it somehow won the Grand Jury Award and Achievement in Screenwriting. Two undocumented immigrants looking for work take a job digging a hole, only to discover their employers are psychopathic criminals. They become embroiled in a blood bath, with one of them revealing a secret past that just might save them. Bad Hombres stars Diego Tinoco and Hemky Madera as Cesar and Alfonso, respectively, along with Luke Hemsworth, Thomas Jane, Nick Cassavetes, Tyrese Gibson, and Paul Johansson. This is set for a VOD release at the end of January if anyone wants to watch. Unfortunately looks like yet another direct-to-bargain-bin junk film dropping soon. // Continue Reading ›...

"Humans are the greatest weakness in any security system." Peacock has revealed an official trailer for a film called Bosco, a prison escape thriller based on a true story. Finally something that might just live up to the classic Escape from Alcatraz! Hopefully. Based on the true story of Quawntay "Bosco" Adams, who also produced the film. Sentenced to 35 years for attempted possession of marijuana, Adams miraculously escaped from a Federal maximum-security prison in 2006 while under 24-hour surveillance in solitary with the help of a woman he met through a lonely-hearts ad. This features a compelling cast including Aubrey Joseph as "Bosco", Nikki Blonsky as "Tammy", Tyrese Gibson as "Tootie", Vivica A. Fox as "Willa", Theo Rossi as "Ramos", and Thomas Jane as "Hunt". Bosco will feature original music from leading hip-hop artists, including Snoop Dogg, French Montana, The Game, Ddg, & more. Looks solid though probably not a new prison escape classic.

‘The Mist’ 4K Ultra HD Review – There’s a Reason We’re Still Talking About This Movie 16 Years Later
Stephen King adaptations have always been hit and miss. Before Mike Flanagan came along, there was one filmmaker who could always be trusted with King’s material: Frank Darabont, whose first foray into filmmaking was a short adaptation of “The Woman in the Room.” After making a name for himself as a screenwriter with the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob, Darabont made his feature directorial debut with 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption and followed it up with The Green Mile in 1999.
His thus-far final King adaptation came in 2007 with The Mist, which finds a group of locals trapped in a grocery store while an ominous fog shrouding mysterious secrets envelopes their quaint Maine town. A microcosm of any community, the supermarket is a canny setting for a contained thriller. The divisive mob mentality and pigheaded self-righteousness that manifests under pressure is even more poignant in a post-Trump world.

As Kelsey Grammer says in his 2020 low-budget action movie Money Plane, “Whatever you want to wager on, the money plane has you covered. You want to bet on a dude f*cking an alligator? Money Plane.”
Somehow, John Oliver, on his latest episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, managed to use the film to highlight the absurdity of abortion laws in the U.S.
The British comedian spent the majority of Sunday night’s episode discussing the current situation involving abortion following the Dobbs decision, particularly as it pertains to a number of local elections coming up this week.
How did he connect the dots? The money plane is much like floating abortion clinics, an idea proposed to get round some states’ making abortions illegal.
“Lawless territory, no rules, anything goes. It’s not only a foolproof plan, but it’s also the literal premise for the movie Money Plane.

Star Wars sequel trilogy star Daisy Ridley is set to return to the Star Wars universe for another film that is meant to launch “the next chapter” of the franchise – but before she picks up Rey’s lightsaber again, Deadline reports that Ridley will be starring in We Bury the Dead, a survival thriller from Zak Hilditch, the director of the Stephen King adaptation 1922 (which featured an incredible performance from star Thomas Jane).

Hoping to find him alive, Ava joins a “body retrieval unit,” but her search takes a chilling turn when the corpses she’s burying start showing signs of life.

Once upon a time, superhero aficionados had to get their fix in the pages of comic books. On rare occasions, the adventures of those heroes were taken to the screen, with characters like Captain America and Batman starring in serialized adventures as early as the 1940s. The colorful camp of the "Batman" TV series in the '60s brought comic books to new mainstream popularity, setting the stage for the rise of blockbuster comic book movies in the late 20th century. Now, multiplexes are bursting with superhero movies, a genre that has grown to become one of Hollywood's most lucrative; in fact, four of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time have their roots in the pages of comics.
Of course, hit films inevitably breed sequels, and films featuring Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Superman, Batman and various other super-powered types with "man" in their names have habitually returned for various big-screen adventures.

When people think of Frank Castle on the silver screen, actors like Jon Bernthal and Dolph Lundgren come to mind. However, the late Ray Stevenson‘s portrayal in Lexi Alexander’s 2008 crime-drama Punisher: War Zone hides in the shadows of the character’s cinematic history. The film was planned as a sequel to 2004’s The Punisher, starring Thomas Jane and John Travolta. War Zone picks up five years into the anti-hero’s journey into darkness, with Frank encountering his most significant threat in the villain Jigsaw, played by Dominic West.
Jonathan Hensleigh, who directed The Punisher, was supposed to return with Jane reprising the title role. However, setbacks kept the film from progressing, with Hensleigh and Jane hard-quitting the project out of frustration. 2024 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the Renny Harlin shark thriller Deep Blue Sea (watch it Here) – and some fans feel the best way for distributor Warner Bros. to celebrate would be to release the film’s original ending. There’s a petition to let Warner Bros. know there’s interest in this idea, and the campaign has not only earned a show of support from the film’s star Thomas Jane (who said it would be “kinda fun” to see if fans can get the studio’s attention), but even a financial contribution from Harlin, who felt his contribution might help with the legitimacy of this fan movement.
