The first possible picture of "Powder Blue" has been making its round. On November 19, MoviesOnline has come out with the film's supposed leaked photo which may expose scantily clad Jessica Biel as her stripper character, Rose-Johnny.
In the image, it can be seen that the woman claimed to be Biel is sitting on a couch wearing nothing else than her underwear and a pair of black stockings. The picture also let out a first glimpse into Patrick Swayze's character. The photo of Biel in her stripper outfit can be seen via Egotastic!.
For her Rose-Johnny role, Biel has reportedly signed a deal for appearing nude in "Powder Blue". Depicting a single mother trying to raise money for her terminally ill son by stripping, the 26-year-old is said to be showing some flesh that include shots of her breasts as well as her bottom though they would be seen in side view only.

Moriarty over at Ain’t it Cool just posted an extensive interview with director Spike Jonze about his upcoming film, Where the Wild Things Are. It’s a long but good read, as they discuss all the troubles the flick has faced from the studio, among other things. The site was also provided with two new images from the film, which will be in theaters next fall. Where the Wild Things Are is based on the Maurice Sendak book of the same name. It follows the adventures of Max, a head-strong young boy who leaves home after having a fight with his mother -- only to find himself in a mysterious forest bordering a vast sea. Misunderstood and rebellious, Max sets sail to the land of the Wild Things, where mischief reigns. It stars Max Records, Forest Whitaker, Alice Parkinson, Catherine O'Hara, James Gandolfini, Lauren Ambrose, Paul Dano and Catherine Keener.

Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables was reported to have attracted Jason Statham and Jet Li last week, and today comes the news that he is courting Forest Whitaker for the flick. In the movie a band of rag-tag mercenaries are on an undercover mission to depose a Latin American dictator and the writer/director/star wants Whitaker to play a devious CIA agent. Stallone also revealed that as per his pact with the gods of false boners, he will in fact be aiming for a PG-13 rating. It can't just...

Sylvester Stallone recently revealed at the American Film Market that he’s pursuing Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker to star in his upcoming action flick The Expendables. The movie, which Stallone is currently writing and will direct, was announced on Thursday and also stars Jason Statham and Jet Li. Stallone, Statham and Li play a team of mercenaries who are sent to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator to liberate the population. Their team is “expendable,” hired to do jobs that no one else can or will. There’s no word on who Whitaker would play, but its possible Stallone has him pegged as the ruthless dictator. This would make sense seeing as how Whitaker won an Oscar for portraying real Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland. Stallone also dropped some rather disappointing news. Apparently the flick won’t be a total

Josh Charles started out strong, but sure fizzled, didn't he? I mean, he started his career with Hairspray, before heading to the Dead Poets Society, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, and soon after, the sexually dysfunctional Threesome. But now he's cameo guy, and there's a new one on the way.
The Hollywood Reporter posts that Charles and Justin Long are joining the Christina Ricci and Liam Neeson-starring After.Life. Long will play the boyfriend of a woman caught between life and death (Ricci), while Charles plays his friend. (Poor guy, relegated to token roles.) This is that long-in-gestation feature that once starred Kate Bosworth, and even had a poster released waaaay back in February of 2007. But it finally seems to be moving forward.

'Mary" is a mess. An inter esting one, yet still a mess. But that's to be expected from its director, the erratic Abel Ferrara ("Bad Lieutenant," "King of New York," et al.).
The cast is noteworthy: Juliette Binoche plays both Mary Magdalene and an actress playing Mm in a movie called "This Is My Blood Matthew Modine plays the director of "Blood" and the actor portraying Jesus in it. There's also Forest Whitaker as a Charlie Rose-style TV host, and

GQ magazine invited me to the Gentlemen's Ball. I'd never heard of it. Publisher Peter King Hunsinger said it celebrated the winner of the Better Men Better World Search. I'd never heard of that either. He said I'd be with Usher, Timbaland, Mark Wahlberg, Forest Whitaker. Them I heard of, so I showed up.

There's plenty to be pleased about this week as we get to spend time with both current and future presidents as part of an Ellen Burstyn double bill. There's also -- whisper it -- a movie based on a video game that might actually be worth seeing. Not to mention enough titular wordplay to make Richard Lederer's head spin. It's all just pun and games though, right?
Built on the old adage that getting lost is the best way to find oneself, Seth Grossman's debut feature follows the travels of Oliver (Tate Ellington), a suicidal writer who's dispatched by Ellen Burstyn's frantic matriarch to the seedy bar scene of Thailand to bring back his brother Jake (Jonno Roberts) to face his considerable debts in the U.S. Once abroad, Oliver finds that he may be at odds with his brother, but

Since Forest Whitaker's sensational, Oscar-winning turn as the creepy, charismatic and sometimes-cannibalistic Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland, he's starred in a bunch of less-than-stellar efforts like Vantage Point and Street Kings. But it looks like he's found a role that will make good on his potential: Whitaker will direct and star in a biopic of the infamous scat-singing, scratchy-voiced virtuoso Louis Armstrong.

Forest Whitaker is delighted to land the lead role in a new Louis Armstrong biopic after winning the approval of the late star's estate.
The actor will play the legendary jazz musician in the upcoming movie and will also direct the picture.
He says, "Armstrong left a monumental mark on our lives and our culture.
"He lived an amazing life and, through his art, shifted the way music was played and would be heard after him, not just here in the U.S. but all over the world."
Armstrong died of a heart attack in 1971.

Just a few weeks ago, there was word that Charles S. Dutton was working on a Louis Armstrong miniseries with Quincy Jones, and John Sayles -- one heck of a dream team. But of course, this is Hollywood and one project can never be enough -- especially when we're talking about a recognizable icon. Now word comes that we're getting a feature film as well.
Variety reports that Forest Whitaker is not only going to star as Louis in an upcoming biopic called What a Wonderful World, but also direct it. (This is the second music icon Whitaker is becoming -- he already played Charlie Parker in Bird.) Now, while Sayles is the powerhouse behind Dutton's project, Ron Bass (Rain Man) will be writing this feature with the help of Armstrong's estate. They're allowing the Oscar-winning scribe exclusive access to personal accounts, letters, and other archive material, which should give

Forest Whitaker is set to direct and star in “What a Wonderful World,” a biopic based on the life of Louis Armstrong, according to Variety.
The trade says the film will kick off during the musician’s impoverished early years in New Orleans and primarily chronicle his career as a trumpet virtuoso and improvisational singer.
Whitaker will direct a script by Ronald Bass, screenwriter of “My Best Friend’s Wedding.”
"Armstrong left a monumental mark on our lives and our culture," Whitaker told Variety.
This is not the first time Whitaker will take on a Jazz project. In 1988, the filmmaker starred as Charlie “Bird” Parker in Clint Eastwood’s “Bird.”
Whitaker’s directing credits include 2004’s comedy “First Daughter.” He most recently starred in “Street Kings.” Upcoming projects include “Powder Blue” and “Repossession Mambo.”
Sounds like an interesting project. But will Whitaker be able to match Taylor Hackford’s fabulous biopic “Ray”? We shall see…

Louis Armstrong (left) and Forest Whitaker (right) I still haven't seen Clint Eastwood's Bird in which Forest Whitaker stars as Charlie Parker, a film he won the Cannes Film Festival best actor award for as well as earned a Golden Globe nomination, but it remains in my Netflix queue. I hope to get to it some time soon as it seems Whitaker is returning to the world of jazz to play yet another icon, only this time he will be directing as well. Ben Child at The Guardian reports that Forest Whitaker will play Louis Armstrong in the first Armstrong estate officially sanctioned biopic of the great jazz singer and trumpet player which he will also direct. The film will be called What a Wonderful World based on Armstrong's well known song and will chronicle the musician's life from his impoverished early days in New Orleans to his death

Julie Taymor is directing a film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, which will star plenty of Oscar-caliber performers, including Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou and possibly Geoffrey Rush (Also: Russell Brand as the jester, Trinculo!). Taymor's version should be interesting considering her postmodern take on the Bard's Titus Andronicus for her film debut, and she's already revealed one twist by casting Mirren in the lead, as a gender-reversed "Prospera". But I bet it still won't out-arthouse Peter Greenaway's film version of the play. Forest Whitaker, who has already portrayed jazz saxaphonist Charlie Parker on the big screen, w ...

Putting all Whitaker's Academy roles aside, who remembers when he played the big brother in Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Talk about a film that's due a sequel! And, if you remember the exact cast to be seen in the high school comedy, you will agree that the sequel would contain one of the most ensemble casts ever. Well, I don't know if it can beat the ensemble over at Dazed and Confused, but you get my point. Wait - where was I?

Much has been made of Forest Whitaker's status as a leading man in Hollywood. Although dude can obviously act, his lack of matinee idol good looks prevent him from being a bonafied leading man. Nonetheless, our boy Forest still manages to find quality projects, even if he isn't always getting the girl. In his latest film. he will not only star, but dirct as well. It's called It's A Wonderful World, and it's a Louis Armstrong biopic. Here's 500 dollars if you can guess who's playing Louis.

Will Smith, Sidney Poitier, Forest Whitaker and Whitney Houston gave the opening of movie mogul Tyler Perry's new film studios in Atlanta, Georgia some star power on Saturday, when they joined him to unveil the new complex.
The Tyler Perry Studios is a multi-million dollar film and TV venture which features sound stages named after stars such as Quincy Jones, American Gangster actress Ruby Dee, and Poitier.
Guests at the opening also included Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith and chatshow queen Oprah Winfrey, with a performance by Mary J. Blige.
Perry had previously contemplated moving from Atlanta after locals complained about the noise and traffic at his old studio near the city's downtown area.
But he ultimately decided that he could never leave his "home", and he insists he bears no ill will towards his old neighbours.
He says, "Even though it was a studio there for 15 years, there was a lot of resistance in everything I was doing. I was thinking about leaving at one point, but this is home for me.
"I knew spiritually I was in the wrong place. You can never be upset with the people who forced you into your dream or up higher. They forced me out into a higher situation. It's worked out much better for me."
