The David Lynch and Mark Frost series Twin Peaks made its premiere on ABC in 1990 and ran for two seasons before being cancelled. It was followed by the feature film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and a couple decades later the series was revived for a third season on Showtime, called Twin Peaks: The Return. While we anxiously wait to see if Lynch and Frost are going to bring us any more stories set in the world of Twin Peaks, the Spooky Empire convention in Orlando, Florida gathered several of the show’s cast members together for a reunion that stirred up all the feels.
Cast member Mädchen Amick shared a picture to Instagram that shows her enjoying a dinner with fellow cast members Dana Ashbrook, Sherilyn Fenn, Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, and Kimmy Robertson.

‘Please Baby Please’ Trailer: Karl Glusman and Andrea Riseborough Turn Heads in Gay Musical Fantasia
One of the wildest, campiest, least apologetic films of the 2022 festival season is “Please Baby Please.” Amanda Kramer’s 1950s-set LGBT musical thriller tells the story of a straight-passing married couple who begin questioning their conceptions of gender, sexuality, and monogamy after witnessing a murder and becoming involved with a greaser gang known as the Young Gents. The movie premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and was soon acquired by Music Box Films, who is giving it a theatrical release later this year.
“There are many things we love about this film, including Andrea Riseborough’s fierce and fearless performance,” said Music Box Films’ Brian Andreotti. “Director Amanda Kramer’s bold mise en scene and stylized 1950s iconography combine to give adventurous audiences a highly entertaining musing on gender roles and desire that is both timely and timeless,”

David Lynch is a director who has always, in a way, been ahead of the curve. His vision throughout both his film and television projects is uncompromising, and even those that had received mixed reception during their release are often warmly regarded today (at least by Lynch fans).
Perhaps the most drastically re-evaluated Lynch film is "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me." The prequel film to his and Mark Frost's seminal series "Twin Peaks" was a critical and commercial flop upon release, with many criticizing its drastic tonal shift and bizarre imagery. What many people didn't realize at the time, however, is that "Fire Walk With Me" was perhaps the best example of Lynch's creative influences in action. The crumbling American Dream, the dissolution of the nuclear family, and the overall absurdity of societal pressures all play integral parts in this prequel.

Horror from the 80s can have a certain charm. They can be cheesy, funny, and most importantly fun. Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat is a good example of just how fun, if cheesy, eighties horror can be.
When a group of vampires settle in a lonely American Town they wear sun cream and drink synthetic blood to survive. With some of the vampires not happy with the situation and the machine that processes the synthetic blood not working they soon need help from the living. When they arrive, as well as a descendant of Van Helsing, a tensions boil over in the small town.
For fans of cult movies, the case of Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat will catch their eye straight away.

The most important memory for audiences to remember is the one Ethan (Sathya Sridharan) specifically tried to forget. His father (Nikolas Kontomanolis) is sitting at a desk telling him how things work in academia. Any idea, theory, or experiment that occurs in pursuit of a university-driven project belongs to said university. And since Paul is the head of the department, it all belongs to him. That’s not to say Ethan won’t get credit—scientific papers often have multiple authors and names listed below the person in charge. It merely confirms that he won’t receive all the acclaim. Nor should he. Whether Ethan cracked the case or not, the school has always been the catalyst. It’s their money that made it happen and the team that fulfilled its promise.
And let’s face it: the fact Ethan hasn’t forgotten that moment proves he hasn’t yet cracked anything.

We all know that we should never text or call or leave voicemails with people, late at night, after we've been drinking. Well, we should also not set up complicated programs and get under a machine that will alter the chemistry of our brains if we're drunk (maybe not even if we're sober). In an exclusive clip from the upcoming sci fi thriller Minor Premise, our intrepid scientist does just that, in the moment when the audience is likely saying either to themselves or out loud to the screen, 'Dude, you do not want to do that.' Eric Schultz’s feature debut, the indie sci fi flick Minor Premise. lands on VOD platforms December 4th. The first teaser has arrived and everything looks great so far. Really great. From what we can gleam from it it looks like our lead character, Ethan, has carried out an experiment at home (the best kind of science always happens at home) and has ended dividing into ten individuals, each with one of his character traits? After making its World Premiere at Fantasia, Minor Premise is heading to VOD on December 4th! Here's a look at the brand new poster for this sci-fi stunner that Heather gave a 4/5 in her recent review:
"Attempting to surpass his father's legacy and pressured by an old colleague (Dana Ashbrook of Twin Peaks), a reclusive neuroscientist becomes entangled in his own risky experiment. Ethan (Sathya Sridharan) has now locked himself in his home with his ex-girlfriend Allie (Paton Ashbrook) and the two navigate trauma, ambition, and missteps of the past. Diving headfirst into the uncharted equations of the brain, they realize that there is more at stake than just their relationship or Ethan’s reputation. With time quickly running out, he is forced to face off against the darker sides of himself while frantically attempting to solve an enigma that lies within his subconscious.

The title Framing John DeLorean can be taken at least two ways – framing as in setting someone up for a fall, and framing as in putting in context. This new trailer for the film, making its world premiere at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival, illustrates how directors Don Argott & Sheena M. Joyce intend to accomplish the latter.
Combining archival footage with a more traditional biopic approach featuring Alec Baldwin sporting massive, jet-black eyebrows and a mop of gray hair, Framing John DeLorean is the first feature film about a man whose name dominated headlines in the 1980s. Here’s how Sundance Selects describes it: “For the first time, Framing John DeLorean recounts the extraordinary life and legend of the controversial automaker, tracing his meteoric rise through the ranks of General Motors, his obsessive quest to build a sports car that would conquer the world, and his shocking fall from grace on charges of cocaine trafficking.

In the new film “Framing John DeLorean,” Alec Baldwin plays the beleaguered car manufacturer who invented the “Back to the Future” car and gambled everything in pursuit of the American dream.
But the question posed at the start of the first trailer for the film is, why hasn’t a movie been made about his life sooner?
“It’s got cocaine, hot chicks, sports cars, bombed out buildings, FBI agents, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, hardcore drug dealers,” his son says in the first trailer for the film.

Dr. Garth Twa chats to Dana Ashbrook about David Lynch, Bobby Briggs and returning to Twin Peaks
Dana Ashbrook played the iconic bad boy, Bobby Briggs, in the original series of Twin Peaks. 25 years later, he returns to play Bobby again, and the former opportunistic delinquent and arch-nemesis of authority has grown up to become, surprisingly, a deputy sheriff in the Twin Peaks police. Mellowed, perhaps, by the decades, and a failed marriage to his—married, at the time—sweetheart Shelly Johnson, he is still devastated by the murder of Laura Palmer.
Garth Twa: It seems that Twin Peaks has been a huge part of your life, is that correct to say?
Dana Ashbrook: You know, it was, it was a huge part of my life when I was about the age of 22 to 24, but I moved away and went on and did other things.

Return of the Living Dead Part II has been recently released from Scream Factory. Yes, it's full of zombies, gags, gore, kids, a few stars (James Karen and Thom Matthews in totally unrelated roles) from the original film, and a young Dana Ashbrook (Bobby! from Twin Peaks). But is it good? No. No, it's not, and I'm not sure that was ever in the film's destiny. Dan O'Bannon's 1985 punk rock opus Return of the Living Dead isn't a costume, it's A Way Of Life! Return of the Living Dead Part II ... is a costume that itches and fits poorly, like those old plastic Halloween masks that obscured your vision while also poking the delicate skin around your eyes. Yes, the original film was so good, it spawned an inbred...

Released on June 17th, 1988 by Vestron Pictures, Anthony Hickox’s Waxwork had a respectable box office showing during its limited theatrical run, but it was on VHS where the horror comedy did gangbusters business as a generation of fans fell in love with its infectious charms. A hilarious love letter to Hammer horror movies and quite possibly the very first self-referential genre movie, Waxwork is a film that was unequivocally a product of its time and yet, somehow managed to also be ahead of its time, firmly cementing Hickox’s directorial debut as one of the best genre offerings to be released during 1988.
While classic Hammer films influenced Hickox’s story and approach to Waxwork, the genesis of the movie’s story came from a notable tourist attraction in the UK that the writer/director had spent some time in during his childhood.
“There was the big Madame Tussaud wax museum in England,...

There is only one episode left until the season finale, and The Resident Season 1 Episode 13 looks like a good one!
Conrad and Devon are back to working together side-by-side trying to rescue a dying hero who has saved the lives of many. Her health is declining rapidly, and if the two of them don't figure it out fast, she may die.
Elsewhere, Mina and Aj are working together, and it's proving to be an unusual experience.
Nic's sister, Jessie, comes into the picture, but she'll find herself in a health crisis of her own. Nic is still looking into Lane, but she'll have to halt everything to tend to her sister. It won't mean Lane will stop, though.
If you missed any episodes or need to catch up before the season ends, you can watch The Resident online here via TV Fanatic.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: A body, dead, wrapped in plastic.
And so begins “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” as recorded in 1990 for Kroq-fm’s “The Kevin and Bean Show.” The morning drive radio program used to put out an annual Christmas album, and for the first one, Jack Nance, Dana Ashbrook, Frank Silva, Kyle MacLachlan, Kimmy Robertson, and Robert Bauer created their own rendition of the classic holiday tune. Among the highlights: Twelve cups of coffee, 11 cherry pies, eight dancing midgets, five dozen donuts, four talking logs, three possessed souls and two secret diaries. And of course, the dead body of Laura Palmer.
You can listen to that, and several more holiday songs from and inspired by TV shows, as part of Turn It On’s special Christmas episode! Listen below!

Some of the greatest monsters lay in wait, within suburbia. This is the basic premise for Adam Cushman's Restraint. Recently, this film had a showing at the Buffalo International Film Festival. It has also appeared at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Inside Restraint, a woman becomes catatonic, first. Then, she turns violent in her family home. Restraint stars: Dana Ashbrook, John Hensley and Geoffrey Rivas. The film's latest trailer is hosted here. The trailer takes awhile to build tension. But, the clip offers an unsettling film score, courtesy of Icelandic composer Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson. It also shows some of the film's more violent sequences, with one character dragged off-screen. Never judge a book by its cover as Angela (Caitlyn Folley) slowly becomes unhinged. A release date, for Restraint, has not been announced. However, the film continues a film festival run, throughout 2017. More festival dates will be announced shortly.

During its first season in 1990, Twin Peaks performed quite well for ABC. In season two, the series endured multiple timeslot changes and resolved the foundational mystery of who killed Laura Palmer partway through. Unsurprisingly, its ratings fell off and the network cancelled the mystery horror drama, which went on to spawn a feature film prequel, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. Now that Showtime has revived the soapy supernatural series, how will it fare? Will Twin Peaks be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned. The Twin Peaks TV series revival kicks off 25 years after the murder of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) shocked the seemingly tranquil town of Twin Peaks, Washington. It centers on the return of idiosyncratic FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan).
