From Harrison Ford to Tom Cruise, Hollywood stars have become increasingly comfortable performing stunts in the later stages of their careers. But June Squibb might have set a new standard when she took on the lead role in “Thelma” and did the bulk of her own stunt work at the age of 93.
Josh Margolin’s directorial debut, which is loosely based on a true story about his own grandmother, stars Squibb as a nonagenarian who falls victim to a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson. The injustice inspires her to hop on her motorized scooter and travel across Los Angeles to take down the thief and reclaim her lost funds. The result is an action movie that promises to show audiences that it’s never too late to reclaim agency over your own life.
In addition to Squibb, “Thelma” also features “Shaft” star Richard Roundtree in his final film performance.

Jennifer Connelly is an iconic actress who is known for voicing the character of Karen in the 2017 MCU film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Alongside the role, Connelly also portrayed the role of Betty Ross in Edward Norton’s 2003 film Hulk.
Having such a connection to the MCU, it stands to reason that Connelly wanted to return to the world of Marvel superheroes and villains. In a recent interview, Jennifer Connelly revealed that she would “absolutely” return to the MCU if this Avenger got another film!

All right folks, we know that the film is about cars and F1 cars more specifically. However, the budget seems to be a bit high for Hollywood people. With Brad Pitt starring in a Joseph Kosinski film (the director of Top Gun: Maverick), fans are curious.
With their curiosity, fans are also doubting the film’s success. Debating whether the film will be a flop or the ace of cards, fans can’t really figure out which. The one thing that they can figure out is that a budget of $300 million for a Hollywood film is too much!

Brad Pitt’s F1 Films Budget Can Buy 20 F1 Cars!
Before all the math folks freak out, we arrived at the calculation by considering the average cost of an F1 car to be $15 million. The math checks out. But enough about math, let...

“I’m much more comfortable being the underdog,” Kevin Feige recently told Empire.
If anyone has lost the right to call themselves an underdog, it’s got to be Feige, right? After all, he’s the head of Marvel Studios, the architect of a film franchise that dominated box offices for over a decade. He’s a key member of Disney’s corporate empire, a byword for a producer who knows how to please fans and executives alike.
Why in the world would he use that word to describe himself? Well, you don’t have to look much further than recent Marvel movie reviews and disappointing box office showings to find the answer. A degree of superhero fatigue has set in, and audiences no longer automatically line up for an increasingly unwieldy number of new Marvel entries.
Sure, some dedicated fans will disagree, but Feige clearly knows and accepts the truth.

Tom Cruise is known for his action-hero persona in Hollywood. The actor has played many roles which has allowed him to flex his acting muscles as well as enabled him to perform death-defying stunts. He has headlined major franchises such as Mission: Impossible, and Top Gun, and has featured in one-off action blockbusters such as Knight and Day.
Cruise was also part of the disastrous The Mummy reboot in 2017, which was a box office failure and officially shut down the Dark Universe before it even began. However, before he came on board the ill-fated franchise, he was rumored to be in the running for the original films starring Brendan Fraser along with Brad Pitt as well. Director Stephen Sommer, however, debunked the rumors.

Rocket Science and CAA Media Finance are launching foreign sales out of Cannes for the John Lee Hancock directed Monsanto starring Glen Powell, Anthony Mackie and Oscar winner Laura Dern.
Monsanto tells the true story of young, untried attorney Brent Wisner (Powell) who takes on a seemingly insurmountable case against the giant U.S. chemical company Monsanto on behalf of Dewayne “Lee” Johnson (Mackie) who used Monsanto’s best-known product Roundup, a wildly financially successful weed and grass pesticide killer, as part of his job as a high school groundskeeper. During the trial, Dr Melinda Rogers (Dern), the chief toxicologist of the Monsanto Company, testifies with certainty that Roundup is safe.
Pic’s screenplay was developed in association with Karl Spoerri’s Zurich Avenue and penned by Michael Wisner, Alexandra Duparc, Ned Benson and Hancock. Producers are Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff, Philip Schulz-Deyle and Jon Levin alongside HyperObject Industries’ Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.

To choose emotion over action is how madness lies, or at least that's how it seems when it comes to television ratings in this Golden Age of procedurals.
It is rare to see a drama series deviate from by-the-numbers plots featuring by-the-book law enforcement characters because networks opt to make spinoffs within that formula rather than create new shows outside of it.
Someone apparently forgot to tell AMC because their deliciously non-formulaic series Interview With the Vampire is set to return for a highly-anticipated second season on May 12.
One could argue that this television series is a twice-over spinoff of Anne Rice's 1976 novel, the source material of the 1994 theatrical film starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.
A better take might be to acknowledge how well this adaptation updates the original story to satisfy fans from both back in the day and now.

In “Hollywood Con Queen,” director Chris Smith chronicles one of Hollywood’s most audacious scams that involved an impostor who posed as top entertainment studio executives to swindle aspiring artists. Based on the original reporting of entertainment journalist Scott Johnson, and his book, “Hollywood Con Queen: The Hunt for an Evil Genius,” the three-part Apple TV+ docuseries features first-hand accounts and insights from Johnson, private investigator Nicole Kotsianas, the alleged con artist, Hargobind Tahilramani, and his victims.
In 2018, it was revealed that an imposter was posing as a variety of well-known female Hollywood executives and their assistants in a bid to lure victims out to Indonesia with the promise of work. Tahilramani became something of a media sensation when it emerged he had been impersonating women such as former Sony chief Amy Pascal, Marvel Studios executive VP Victoria Alonso and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, and NBCUniversal Studio Group chair and...

Hugh Grant is one of the most celebrated actors in Hollywood, and his perfect combination of wit and charm only makes it more understandable why. Needless to say, his very charming personality and physical features are also the reason why a lot of the roles he has donned have been in rom-coms. But even through those rom-coms, Grant has displayed quite a bit of action.

However, one time, this display of action in a similar ruthless manner as Tom Cruise almost ended up killing him. This happened in the iconic film that set him up as the King of rom-coms and is still regarded as a masterpiece, Four Weddings and a Funeral. But that isn’t the only surprising fact, because Grant was actually never the first choice to play the protagonist in that movie!

It’s truly baffling how deeply some people can get caught up in cults, isn’t it? The way they manipulate and control individuals through superstition and rituals is just shocking. And the more shocking part is that it’s not just ordinary people who fall victim to these schemes; even scientists and celebrities can get drawn in, like Tom Cruise with Scientology or Brigitte Boisselier with Raël’s cult. It’s like they’re living in a whole different reality! I recently watched A Deadly Threat to My Family by Erin Lovett, and let me tell you, Serena’s (Gina Vitori) story had me questioning all these things even more! There’s a new, scary reality sinking in for both Paramount shareholders and its board of directors: What if nobody buys Paramount?
Not much more than a week ago it felt like a foregone conclusion that David Ellison would buy out Shari Redstone’s controlling stake in Paramount Global for a few billion bucks, and force Paramount to buy his Skydance for a few billion more bucks than that. That’s what Redstone wanted to happen at least, and what Redstone wants she’s pretty well set up to get. She has the shares to force whatever outcome she wants and stop whatever one she doesn’t.
But there was another suitor who could no longer be ignored.

One of the greatest visionary directors that Hollywood had the privilege of hosting, Stanley Kubrick revolutionized the process of filmmaking for the foreseeable future. Chris Pine unarguably looks effortlessly perfect in every single role he dons, and the same was the case when he played the fan-favorite character of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman franchise. Yet, as immaculately as he performed in this role that went on to win the hearts of fans from all across the globe, what’s surprising is that the actor actually never wanted to play him.

Although it may seem unbelievable to many, it is only true that Pine rejected the role of the beloved husband-material Steve — not once, but twice. But the reason behind his turning down the iconic part was only understandable because he felt like his character “sounded like a second fiddle,” and he, for one, had “no interest,” whatsoever “in playing the boyfriend” in a superhero movie.

It was once understandable when gamers didn’t get what they saw on CD covers of video games. But developers weren’t developing games using Unreal Engine 5 like they are now. Unlike the old times, they can now share the kind of graphics that they can deliver in the game.
Now, gamers don’t judge games based on CD covers. They do it via the trailers they see on the internet. With the industry having advanced today, they believe they’ll get the same product as presented on the screen. That’s a big misunderstanding.
Back in the day, users at least knew that they wouldn’t see the kind of dinosaurs and lush jungles in the game as presented on a Dino Crisis poster. It didn’t hurt when the players saw pixelated environments when they finally played the game, but that’s not the case with the latest generation of games.

Whatever fate befalls Paramount Global after the smoke clears, one of the Hollywood Trivial Pursuit questions someday will be which heavy hitters have issued statements of support for Skydance’s proposed acquisition of Paramount’s holding company, National Amusements Inc. — and which didn’t.
Even as the Paramount special committee passed on the offer from David Ellison’s company May 4, sources say the Skydance-RedBird alliance has not given up. The premise, a source with knowledge of the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter, is that the rival Apollo/Sony Pictures offer now up for Paramount’s consideration will fail for multiple reasons, with Skydance still waiting in the wings.
So despite much Wall Street skepticism over a proposed deal that favors controlling shareholder Shari Redstone over other investors, “Skydance has been on an extremely aggressive PR campaign in the last month to convince everyone how legitimate they are,” says a prominent media mogul.

James Cameron has seldom been more vocal about his appreciation for an artist than when he was completely bowled over by Bernard Hill’s role in Titanic. For a director as esteemed as Cameron, there must be very few things that can still hold that effect on him, however, Titanic still manages to churn out such rare and treasured moments at a steady pace.

Despite playing only a minor role in the film, the subtlety of Bernard Hill’s powerhouse performance in the iconic Leonardo DiCaprio film held the capacity to move the director of the $2.26 billion romantic tragedy. As such, it was only right that Cameron expressed his gratitude and privilege after witnessing the understated actor’s process at work.

Emily Blunt got candid during a recent appearance on “The Howard Stern Show” (via People) about how she’s had to fake chemistry over the years with certain co-stars she just struggled to connect with on set. Blunt has acted opposite many high-profile leading men throughout her career, from Matt Damon (“The Adjustment Bureau”) to Tom Cruise (“Edge of Tomorrow”), Dwayne Johnson (“Jungle Cruise”), Ryan Gosling (“The Fall Guy”) and Cillian Murphy (“Oppenheimer”).
“Have you wanted to throw up?” Stern asked Blunt about kissing some of her male co-stars during filming. The Oscar-nominated actor responded: “Absolutely. Absolutely.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s sort of extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it,” Blunt added.
Blunt declined to name any co-star she couldn’t generate chemistry with, but she did say: “I have had chemistry with people who… I have not had a good time working with them.

Have you ever given thought, to which of Steven Spielberg’s works could unite the creative minds behind X-Men ’97 and the very creator of Deadpool? Not to give away too much of the suspense, but it is none other than the dark and cerebral science fiction drama Minority Report.
The film, starring Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell, was so brilliantly shot and inventive that even Deadpool’s Rob Liefeld, who ranked it among his three best Spielberg experiences, tweeted his admiration for it. Liefeld empathized with those who found the film “too dark”, a sentiment shared in his circles at the time of its release.

Yet, in a harmonious agreement tagged with insights and nostalgia, X-Men ’97 writer Beau DeMayo chimes in with a solid “hands down agree”.

The rumour mill continues churning out possible Deadpool & Wolverine cameos and, if we're not careful, disappointment will soon follow.
While the upcoming threequel is bound to feature some massive surprises, we've already seen what happens when fans set their expectations too high. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness included appearances from Professor X, Black Bolt, and Mister Fantastic, but even that wasn't enough for those who went in hoping to see Spider-Man and Tom Cruise!
Dafne Keen played X-23 in 2017's Logan and there have been rumblings for a while now that she'll suit up and reprise the role in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Asked about that in a recent interview, The Acolyte star chose her words carefully. "I mean...I can’t wait. The trailer looked incredible!" Keen responded, largely dodging the question. "This is all really crazy and I’m looking forward to seeing it."

Emily Blunt has kissed many of the world’s most desired film stars in her career, but she has revealed that it’s not always been pleasant.
The British actress, currently starring with Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy, told American radio host Howard Stern that she had found some experiences less than enjoyable.
The Daily Mail reports that when Stern asked her if she’d ever wanted to throw up after kissing an actor, she replied:
“Absolutely, absolutely…I wouldn’t say it’s extreme loathing, but I’ve definitely not enjoyed some of it.
“I think my feeling is I’ve got to find something I love about everybody. I have to find something – even if it’s one thing. It might be like they have a nice laugh or I like how they speak to people, they’re polite. I mean, it might be something random.

As a Gen Xer who grew up fascinated by The Six Million Dollar Man and in turn tuned in for Lee Majors’ The Fall Guy, I walked into the Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt movie this weekend with a certain excitement, but also tempered expectations.
As a rule, I don’t read reviews before seeing a movie. But I’d glimpsed enough headlines and social media chatter to know that The Fall Guy was only (very) “loosely” based on the ABC action series that ran for five seasons. I like Gosling, love Blunt and enjoy stunt work, so I decided to take a flyer on this.

By the time Kirsten Dunst appeared in Interview with the Vampire, she had already worked with the likes of Woody Allen and Brian De Palma. But her performance as Claudia in Neil Jordan’s Interview with the Vampire was her true breakout, marking her as one of the most promising newcomers in Hollywood. Thirty years on, however, Kirsten Dunst doesn’t just see the men as hunks but rather truly giving and protective souls.

When Universal decided to jump on the first weekend of May, a slot normally taken up by Marvel’s popular superhero movies, they were hoping the combo of “Barbenheimer” stars, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, would make “The Fall Guy” a huge early summer hit. His commitment to getting the shot technically and artistically right has resulted in some of the best films of all time such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Paths of Glory, Full Metal Jacket, and The Shining among others.

Kubrick passed away before the release of his final film Eyes Wide Shut, which starred Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who were then married. While the psychological thriller drama has been regarded as one of Kubrick’s best and is considered to be one of the greats, the filmmaker himself reportedly did not like the film and especially hated working with Cruise and Kidman.

People in the entertainment industry seem to get into awkward and embarrassing situations all the time, especially after getting drunk at some major events and afterparties. And while we do know that the first name to have popped into your mind after reading this must have been Jennifer Lawrence’s, this one’s about someone else entirely: Robert Pattinson.

As it turns out, Pattinson once got drunk enough to get into a fight after midnight with none other than the iconic diva who made her way to becoming one of the top artists in the music industry from scratch, Adele. And, unsurprisingly enough, things didn’t really turn out all too well for the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire star, as he later admitted just how much he regretted that encounter.

Emily Blunt is revealing what movie she did her most “stressful” stunt in, and her answer may surprise some fans.
The Oscar-nominated actress may have been surrounded by death-defying stunts in her latest movie, The Fall Guy, but she recently told People magazine that her scariest stunt was actually in 2018’s Mary Poppins Returns.
“That entrance was very stressful for me,” she recalled of the scene.
Blunt, who took over the memorable Julie Andrews role for Disney’s musical sequel, explained that her character’s entrance “had to start in the clouds and come all the way down toward the ground while holding an umbrella aloft. And I’m supposed to walk effortlessly into my close-up as if it’s nothing.”
The Oppenheimer star added, “I did three takes — and then I felt my tolerance go, ‘Pfft!’ And that was it. I was done.”

David Fincher’s star-studded crime thriller Se7en is one of the best in the genre. The film featuring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in the lead, starred Kevin Spacey as a serial killer executing murders across the city based on the seven deadly sins. However, when the film was released, Spacey decided to be absent from the marketing campaign and the opening credits due to a genius reason.
Kevin Spacey in Se7en
Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt headlined Se7en as an almost-retired detective and his young partner investigating the brutal murders by the serial killer. The film can be easily credited as a horror piece due to the horrific murders that are shown. But what made it more popular for the fans was the shock to find out who the killer was. Spacey planned to make it play out that way.

Emily Blunt was in 2014’s Edge of Tomorrow, a Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller that required some wire stunts that ended in spills.
But that wasn’t the scariest thing she’s ever done.

Francis Lawrence's 2007 post-apocalyptic drama "I Am Legend" is based loosely on the celebrated 1954 novel by Richard Matheson. The original novel is set in the near future of 1976 when a destructive war has ravaged the Earth, and a horrible virus has infected the survivors. The virus transforms its victims into pale-skinned, nocturnal ghouls with an appetite for human blood, more or less making them vampires. The novel follows Robert Neville, seemingly the last human alive, as he tries to survive in a ravaged Los Angeles and study the virus during the daylight hours. The title comes from the novel's famous twist ending.
"I Am Legend" was adapted to film in 1964 as "The Last Man on Earth," and in 1971 as "The Omega Man," before Lawrence's 2007 version. Lawrence's version transposes the action to New York and makes Neville (Will Smith) into a surviving virologist attempting to come up with a cure for the vampire virus.
