Top 25 of "Kurt Time in front of the Telly w/o Sports
As I grow older my memory in general serves me less and less as intended and thus I should be able to enjoy to a larger extent re-watching movies of yesteryear (be once again surprised by the endings), however, as many before me have come to realize it is all the recent stuff that evaporates as easy as blood at a vampire convention, whilst juvenile movie experiences tend to stick around like Arnold at a “see me, I’m still breathing and able to grunt – Hasta Lavista Baby – gathering”. This turns into a bit of a conundrum as the movies I therefore am able to enjoy fully again, are newer ones, which are simply not of the same quality as the old ones were... or rather the memories associated with those old ones, and the old ones I cherish the most are the once I can still recall the best. Thus, I don’t often watch movies for a second time.
A “Kurts List” of the best movies ever, thus becomes a list of memories and although such a list can –and at some point will- be tried constructed as subjectively objectively as possible (yeah, that got you thinking), I find it easier to maybe throw up a list of what I would chose to re-visit on screen if I had an evening of doing absolutely nothing just starring in my face and laughing out hard at me. If I could curl up on the couch with a pound or two of chocolate and a gallon of regular coke, what would I chose for a re-run? Not surprisingly, seeing that I do not enjoy re-watching movies in general, the list will be fully loaded with comedies or other easy to digest entertainment sticks, as I cannot be alone in the perception that it is far more enjoyable to watch fast paced and/or hilarious action over and over again compared to sitting through The Kings Speech a second or third time (notwithstanding that this movie actually was pretty damn good).
Anyway, here goes: “Top 25 of Kurt Time in front of the Telly (without Sports)”
